Didi Rankovic In Germany, the current authorities seem willing to dramatically depart from what have until now been Western democratic traditions, where law enforcement must have a crime to investigate, and a warrant to do so before it engages in searches and surveillance. However, the government in Berlin plans to allow the Federal Criminal Police […]
GAZA – Gaza’s Government Media Office (GMO) has said that the Israeli occupation army’s closure of the Rafah border crossing over the past 100 days has claimed the lives of more than 1,000 children, patients and wounded civilians, warning that the humanitarian disaster in the war-ravaged coastal enclave has deepened.
“The occupation army continues to close the Rafah border crossing between Palestine and Egypt for the 100th day running after burning and bulldozing it and putting it out of service,” GMO said in a statement on Wednesday.
Video shows Israeli destruction of Gaza’s Rafah crossing A video released by an Israeli journalist shows Gaza’s Rafahcrossing burnt and destroyed, just over a month since Israel captured it. The crossing had been a vital route for aid. 21 Jun 2024 …
“This Israeli closure of the crossing continues to take place as the humanitarian tragedy has deepened at all levels and affected all aspects of life,” GMO added.
GMO condemned the ongoing closure of the crossing as a “crime” and an “obvious legal violation of the international law, the international humanitarian law and all international conventions.”
GMO accused the Israeli occupation of preventing the entry of all sorts of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip, including vital medical needs, which seriously worsened the health and humanitarian situation.

British tech entrepreneur Mike Lynch and Morgan Stanley International chairman Jonathan Bloomer have been found dead insidea their superyacht thatsank off the coast of Sicily on Monday, according to media report
The Guardian reported, citing the head of Sicily’s civil protection agency, that Bloomer, Lynch, his 18-year-old daughter Hannah, and lawyer Chris Morvillo are among the six people still unaccounted for as of late Monday.
The yacht they were traveling on, a British-flagged, 56-meter sailboat called the ‘Bayesian’, was carrying a total of 22 people – 12 crew members and ten passengers – at the time of the incident and was anchored off the port of Porticello.

UK Tech Mogul Lynch Beats HP Fraud Case in Stunning US Loss – Yahoo Finance on 7, 2024(Bloomberg) — In a staggering loss for US prosecutors, a jury found UK tech tycoon Mike Lynch not guilty of all criminal charges that he pulled off Silicon Valley’s biggest-ever fraud scam 13 years ago. In the months leading up to the 11bn deal the sale to HP Autonomywas valued at at $46 billion but a year later it was worth just 2.2bn
According to the Italian Coast Guard, the vessel was hit by a waterspout – a type of tornado that forms over water — in the early hours of Monday morning. So far, one man, understood to be the ship’s chef, has been confirmed dead.
Fifteen people have been rescued, including Lynch’s wife Angela Bacares, who owns the yacht, and a one-year-old girl who was saved by her mother.
Eight of those rescued, including the child, have been transferred to hospitals and are in stable condition, according to The Guardian. Domenico Cipolla, the chief physician at one of the hospitals, told the outlet that most of the survivors had said they worked for Lynch.
“They are deeply traumatized. As time passes, they realize more and more that this morning they lost many friends,” Cipolla said.
The Coast Guard has reported that the missing include British, American and Canadian nationals. New Zealand’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also confirmed that two of its nationals were on board the yacht, with one confirmed to have survived..

Lynch, a multimillionaire known for co-founding the software development company Autonomy in 1996, has occasionally been described as the ‘British Bill Gates.’ However, throughout most of the past decade, the 59-year-old has been caught up in court battles over fraud allegations related to the sale of his firm to US tech company Hewlett-Packard. In June, he was acquitted by a jury in San Francisco after spending more than a year living under house arrest.
Coincidently, mere hours after news of the accident in Sicily, it was reported that Lynch’s co-defendant in the trial and former vice president of finance at Autonomy, Stephen Chamberlain, was killed after being fatally struck by a car while jogging in the county of Cambridgeshire, UK, on Saturday.
InterRebellium is an upcoming documentary project from subMedia about the historic wave of protests and uprisings that broke out around the globe between late 2018 and m
It is planned as a limited ten-part series, featuring interviews with anarchists, anti-colonial militants, and other front-line revolutionaries from:
Ecuador Chile Haiti France Hong Kong Lebanon Iraq Sudan Canada United States
Motivated by the principle and spirit of revolutionary internationalism, we plan to collaborate on the production of each episode with local and diasporic anarchist and anti-colonial filmmakers, artists, and content producers.
By doing so, we hope to amplify the voices of those most qualified to tell the stories of these uprisings, to increase the capacity and reach of anarchist media production from the global south, and to forge working relationships with new comrades and co-conspirators in order to pave the way for the further decentralization of the subMedia collective.
We also plan to translate the series into multiple languages, to help build solidarity across state-imposed borders.
The title of the series comes from the Latin for ‘between uprisings’. This speaks to what we see as the cyclical nature of revolt, and the critical need to prepare for the struggles ahead.
To this end, we plan to use this series as a vehicle to summarize the hard-won tactical and strategic lessons from recent uprisings, and to explore the social, political and military limits that participants ultimately ran up against – so that future movements will be able to learn from, and ultimately surpass them.
As we set out to begin work on this series, we are putting out a two-part call:
For participants of the revolts listed above, who would like to share their stories, or who are otherwise interested in collaborating on this project. We are particularly excited to connect with filmmakers, audio/podcast/radio producers, movement journalists, or other anarchist media collectives from each country.
For supporters willing to donate to make this project financially viable. We would like to establish a modest budget of $1,000 – $2,000 per episode to cover potential travel costs, to pay local videographers and/or purchase gear for local anarchist media collectives – particularly those in the Global South without access to quality video equipment. Any additional funds raised beyond our initial goal will go towards improving the overall quality of the series’ production value..
This is an ambitious project, and we are excited to start work on it. We hope that this excitement extends to our supporters and to future collaborators. Without you, it simply won’t be possible.

This war is fueled by opposing geostrategic interests (Ukraine, Egypt, Iran, Saudi Arabia and Turkey on the army side, Russia and the United Arab Emirates on the RSF side) on a country occupying a geostrategic position (control of the sources of the Nile, control of the Red Sea and trade through the Suez Canal).

But much more, it is a war between two counter-revolutionary factions who wish to crush the Sudanese people who dared to rise up against the Islamist dictatorship then against the military dictatorship and dared to set up an organization of society civil society in a horizontal way, via the Revolutionary Committees. (On the Sudanese Revolution, read: SUDAN 2022: LESSONS FOR ANARCHISM, https://cnt-ait.info/2022/01/14/sudan-lessons)
The young anarchist companions of Sudan participate in the revolutionary movement. As such, they are among the victims of the horrible crimes that strike all those who dare to resist the armed factions.
In previous issues of our newspaper « Anarchosyndicalisme ! », we launched a call for solidarity with our African companions, a call which was heard in France and more widely internationally. The appeal was notably translated into Chinese, Indonesian, Czech, English, Spanish, Turkish, Arabic, etc. … It was relayed by other groups, solidarity debates were organized in Caen or recently in Clermont-Ferrand by the Ephémère squat. Other solidarity debates are planned in Ambert, in the North, etc.
We have already collected more than 3,300 euros (list below), which has already been transferred to the Sudanese companions.
In a message received in June, the companions from Sudan told us:
“We were able to shelter 6 companions. They are now safe in Ethiopia, Rwanda and Kenya. There are a few of us who still remain in Sudan. We will coordinate to continue our liberation activities from abroad [because the situation here is too dangerous]. You supported us very strongly, you saved the lives of our companions who were in very dangerous regions. We hope your support does not stop. Every day we suffer, but my attachment to the ideas and to anarchism continues to grow. Long live solidarity! »
We have since carried out an interview with the companions, in which they share their situation, their difficulties and their hopes. This interview can be read online here:
The solidarity campaign continues. We have at your disposal a leaflet presenting the campaign: “UNDERSTANDING THE CONFLICT IN SUDAN, ACT IN SOLIDARITY AGAINST THE WAR” (in French). You can either download it (https://cnt-ait.info/2024/02/16/comprendre-conflit-soudan) or receive it in paper format by writing to CNT-AIT, 7 rue St Rémésy 31000 TOULOUSE.
The international week of solidarity with anarchist prisoners is coming up, 23-30 August. “With strength we make this call to action for a week of solidarity with anarchist prisoners. Let our words not die in our mouths but our ideas and actions be realized. Organize solidarity events, film screenings, banner drops, discussion rounds, direct actions, […]
