Anarchist prisoner Jennifer Gann was attacked by warders at Kern Valley State Prison on September 13th for coming to the aid of another trans woman who was being harassed by guards. The following is an excerpt from a letter that just came in from Jennifer.

Please take some time to write Jennifer a letter, send her some zines, or put a couple dollars on her books. She does not have access to her property, and is being held in the Administrative Segregation Unit, (‘the hole’..solitary confinement), so anything helps.

The Letter

….”I’m currently sitting in a cold, gray, cement cell with nothing but a sink, toilet, bunk, and basic necessities.

I was on D-facility, Tuesday afternoon (9/13), going out to the yard from my housing unit when I heard a CO behind me begin yelling at and harassing one of my sistas. So I stopped to see what the problem was, when several COs immediately turned toward me and began yelling “turn around and get down!”

As soon as I turned my back to comply, I was assaulted from behind, my face slammed forward into a metal locker, splitting my head wide open, blood gushing, as 4 or 5 guards began punching and kicking me as I lay face down unable to move. They had me pinned down, knees in my back and on my head. They kept yelling “stop resisting!”

Once the handcuffs were on, they picked me up and escorted me across the yard in front of a couple dozen inmates as I yelled out “Fuck the police!” They slammed me to the ground a couple more times and put all their weight on me so I couldn’t breathe! U.S. Owes Black People Reparations For a History of ‘Racial Terrorism,’ Says U.N. Panel

Instead of spending TRILLIONS on updating Nuclear Armageddon the colonialist powers should pay reparations for the continuing consequences of their historical racist mega/crimes.

September 29, 2016 “Information Clearing House” – “Washington Post” – The history of slavery in the United States justifies reparations for African Americans, argues a recent report by a U.N.-affiliated group based in Geneva.

This conclusion was part of a study by the United Nations’ Working Group of Experts on People of African Descent, a body that reports to the international organization’s High Commissioner on Human Rights. The group of experts, which includes leading human rights lawyers from around the world, presented its findings to the United Nations Human Rights Council on Monday, pointing to the continuing link between present injustices and the dark chapters of American history.

It’s important to keep in mind that elected President Rousseff was not convicted or even formally charged with any concrete act of corruption, even though the pro-oligarchy mainstream Brazil media, led by O’Globo Group of the billionaire Roberto Irineu Marinho, ran a media defamation campaign creating the basis to railroad Rousseff into formal impeachment before the Senate.

The shift took place after the opposition PMDB party of Temer on March 29 broke their coalition with Rousseff’s Workers’ Party, as accusations of Petrobras-linked corruption were made against Rousseff and former president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.

Hypocrites sign Climate Deal while promoting Deadly Fossil Fuels

Do they understand what they have signed? Plainly they do not. Governments like ours in the UK, now ratifying the Paris agreement on climate change, haven’t the faintest idea what it means. Either that, or they have no intention of honouring it.

For the first time, we can see the numbers on which the agreement depends, and their logic is inescapable. Governments can either meet their international commitments or allow the prospecting and development of new fossil fuel reserves. They cannot do both.

The Paris agreement, struck by 200 nations in December, pledged to hold “the increase in the global average temperature to well below 2°C above pre-industrial levels”, and aspired to limit it to 1.5°. So what does this mean? Thanks to a report by Oil Change International, we can now answer this question with a degree of precision.
