In the afternoon, a large demonstration in the streets of Gracia travels back to the bank and tries to reoccupy it. That’s when the Tiot Police attack and begin their charges, including use of projectiles FOAM.

Per la tarda, una nombrosa manifestació transita pels carrers de Gràcia per tornar al Banc i intentar reokupar-lo. by Jessica Jones ·The protestors, from the group AnimaNaturalis, doused their naked bodies in fake blood and were wrapped into Styrofoam trays to resemble pieces of meat.

The protest took place on Sunday, May 22nd on Sant Jaume plaza in Barcelona with the aim of educating the public about the benefits of a meat-free diet.

The giant meat packaging trays included the label with the words “carne humana” or human meat in Spanish. 

In March, Barcelona declared itself a veggie-friendly city: which includes the writing of a vegetarian guide to the city and encouraging residents to give up meat at least once a week.

 The ‘Expropriated Bank’, a self-managed occupied social center occupied in the beautiful Gracia barrio, has finally fallen. Symbol of resistance to repression and austerity , colleagues called for the occupation of 1000 more banks.

The eviction was not an easy task, it took police more than eight hours, using metal cutters, etc., to extricate the last heroes. Russia has not seen such a major military buildup close to its borders since 1941 when the Third Reich sent the Wehrmacht to conquer the Soviet Union, Professor Stephen F. Cohen said in his recent interview on The John Batchelor Show, referring to NATO’s increasingly assertive strategy in Eastern Europe and the Baltics.

“We have been watching for nearly a month a steady buildup of American and NATO forces along near Russia’s borders – on land, on sea and in the air,” he said. “There has been nothing like this on Russia’s borders, such an amassing of hostile military force, since the German invasion of the Soviet Union in 1941.”
