KILL THE MESSENGER:Andre Vltchek: 52 Years After Fascist Genocide, Indonesians Scared of “Communist Ghosts”

We republish on theFreeonline the first in a series of André Vletchek’s brilliant work up to his highly suspicious death. – His devastating first-hand takedown of capitalist genocide and Ecocide in Indonesia.

KILL THE MESSENGER: Another Warrior Has Fallen, Andre Vltchek is Dead

A great article by Andre Vltchek about the US led genocide in Indonesia and how afterwards the puppet ruling class airbrushed it all out of history.nesia were very rich and owned loads of land.

Andre explauins the worst genocide this century with three million people killed, including teachers, trade unionists, and anyone who stood up against the ruling class and its rotten regime, many of them murdered with bare hands, strangled, or clubbed to death while they cried for mercy.

By now Indonesia’s beautiful landscape and irreplaceable biodiversity are all but destroyed by Western corporations and an embedded local predator class, digging up the land for minerals, clear cutting the tropical forests, with zero social services or amenities…. . The Fat Cats are raking it in, and Indonesia has been opened up to free markets, capitalism, and democracy – Western style.

Excerpt:

On September 30th, 1965, the Indonesian military obeying orders from foreign powers (mainly the US and the UK), overthrew the progressive and anti-imperialist government of President Sukarno, murdering between 1 and 3 million men, women and children (including almost all members of the Communist Party of Indonesia – PKI).

This was done with the direct help of almost all the major religious organizations (Muslim, Protestant, Catholic and Hindu).

The bloodshed continued well into 1966, and the “Rivers were choked with corpses and ran red from blood,” as I was told by Pramoedya Ananta Toer, the greatest Indonesian novelist.

All the hopes for a socialist, just and egalitarian motherland were wasted. Before the coup, Indonesia used to be a true internationalist nation, and was one of the proud founders of the Non-Aligned Movement (the West Javanese city of Bandung hosted its establishing conference in 1955). President Sukarno and his progressive and patriotic government used to hold in their hands almost all the natural resources, trying to build a proud, artistic and productive nation.

Sukarno once even humiliated the US Ambassador, in front of a huge crowd, at a packed stadium: “To hell with your aid!” He did not need any Western aid. He was presiding over potentially one of the richest nations on Earth. The Communist Party of Indonesia (PKI), the third largest in the world after those of the Soviet Union and China, was going to win the elections, comfortably and democratically, in 1966, while being fully supported by President Sukarno.

Their manifesto was clear: anti-imperialism, social justice and land reforms.

But who were some of the largest landowners in Indonesia during that period? Religious leaders! And they, together with the military and corrupt elites, decided: “No!” This has to be stopped! No justice. No internationalism. No socialism.”

They betrayed the nation and its people; they committed treason and on September 30, 1965, overthrew socialist democracy.

The results were horrifying. Perhaps the worst massacres of the 20th Century took place. Mass slaughter, mass rape, and cutting off of female breasts, torture, and shortly after the initial horrors, overflowing prisons and concentration camps.

Around 40% of all the teachers of Java were slaughtered and the military was substituted into the school classrooms. Film studios and traditional theatres were shut down, and writers were sent to Buru concentration camp.

Ukraine War Day #46: The Face Of The New Russian Spring

yalensis's avatarAwful Avalanche

Dear Readers:

For my post today I have two important topics, so let us get to it.

Tochka-Who?

In case anybody still believing any B.S. that comes from the Ukrainian government, Russia has the receipts showing that the rocket launched from a mobile Tochka-U complex last week, which killed and wounded so many civilians at the Kramatorsk railroad station, was launched by a unit of the Ukrainian army. Recall that the entire purpose of a Tochka-U rocket is to be an anti-personnel device. It is not meant to, and not capable of, damaging heavy equipment, like railroads. The pellets in the cluster bombs are intended to kill and injure people. Such as soldiers. Or civilians, as in this case.

You can see part of the words “За детей” scrawled in white paint on the side of the rocket tail.

The reporter is Vera Basilaya: The Tochka-U is…

DEFENSORAS: LA VIDA EN EL CENTRO

Lucineia Miranda De Freitas:

In opposition to PL191, a government bill in Congress that would allow mining and extractive industries on their reservations, 8,000 people representing more than 200 Indigenous nations from many regions of the country are gathered in Brasília for the Free Land Camp mobilization and 10 days of action in support of the Indigenous rights guaranteed in the Constitution.

The Free Land Camp (ATL) will take place from April 4-14, 2022, in Brasília.

Lawmakers in the lower house of Congress allied to the government are pushing through Bill 191 by using the argument that it is urgently needed to extract potash for fertilizer for Brazil’s grain crops that previously depended on imports from Ukraine, now disrupted by the war. However, Brazil’s potash reserves are located outside of Indigenous territories and the Bolsonaro government’s real intention is to allow gold mining and other extractive industries in Indigenous lands.

Sabotage in rail road network: Arrests [Belarus] - featured image

Belarus. On April 6, the Ministry of the Interior reported that security forces used live ammunition to arrest “saboteurs” along a rail track in late March.

Three of them allegedly acted together and set fire to two relay cabinets near Osipovichi. Video footage shows that one of them, with bandaged knees, has difficulty answering questions of the police forces, the second has blood on his face, and the third is really scared.

Deputy Interior Minister Gennady Kazakevich now confirmed the shooting of the suspects during alleged acts of sabotage on the railroad track.

At the press conference he spoke of two seriously injured – a resident of Bobruysk, who was allegedly involved in the destruction of relay cabinets, and a resident from the Minsk district, whose car was parked near the tracks and who was snitched on by “citizens who are not indifferent”.

On March 25, the telegram channel of the Community of Belarusian Railway Workers wrote that two relay cabinets of the Signal, Centralization and Blocking system (SCB) between the train stations Barysau and Novosady had gone up in flames the night before.

On March 28, the Railway Workers’ Channel reported another incident with SCBs – they were out of service after an arson attack between the train stations of Sovietski and Vereitski in Osipovichi district. April 2: A staff member of “SB.

Belarus Today” correspondent Yury Terekh reports that “a few groups who decided to embellish their free time in the evening with a simple terrorist act [on the train tracks] have already encountered security forces.”
