Anarchists Acquitted in Network of Revolutionary Cells Trial in Czech Republic

Published July 20, 2021

Good news for a change! After more than two years, the verdict for four anarchists and one environmentalist was acquittal; only one of them was recognized guilty for small offenses, and the court dropped his punishment.

The main charges concerned the support and promotion of the Network of Revolutionary cells (SRB), insurrectional anarchism, as well as blackmail and harm of others property. SRB focused for several years on sabotage of the property of police and capitalists.

So far, no one was convicted and condemned for these actions.

The defendant Lukáš Borl admittedly confessed to spraying the walls of prison lettering “desire for freedom the repression will not stop” and “death to the state”.

He also admitted that he was identifying by amended identity documents. The damage he caused to the prison, he paid. The Court in these two points acknowledged Borl guilty, but dropped his punishment.

According to the Head of Senate, Dagmar Šebková the crimes were not serious and also happened a long time ago.

The prosecutor Václav Richter demanded for all without distinction imprisonment for the duration of three years, which would be conditionally postponed to the probationary period of three years.

However, the court liberated the defendants. The judgment was not declared competent, the prosecutor appealed.

During our self-isolation, Twitter have spiced things up by shadow banning our tweets for the last two weeks!

Wirral In It Together's avatarWirral In It Together

A direct result of this is that only a tiny number of our 800 or so followers can see what we’re saying, and nobody follows us anymore…!

Also, when you respond to others’ tweets – no matter who they are – they don’t see it because the money-grubbing, advertisement-driven Silicon Valley suits either divert it to an online bin or file it away in a kind of “naughty” box.

Anyway, to hell with them, we thought we’d try publishing some of our tweets as very short blog posts. At least then there’s the consolation of knowing that we’re not being silenced and more people will be reading them.

BristolABC's avatarBristol Anarchist Black Cross - Prisoner Support

Our passion for freedom is stronger than the prison!

Last week people gathered outside HMP Eastwood park women’s prison to show solidarity with prisoners who have recently experienced increased levels of violence from prison guards. They chanted “you are not alone” and made noise so that the people inside could know that they are supported, and that the violence that they experience behind the prison walls will not go on unnoticed.

People also gathered and made noise at HMP Bristol to show solidarity with the prisoners and also let the recently convicted KTB prisoners know that they have support from the wider community, and that people are outraged at the harsh sentencing for those who went to protest against more police powers and tougher sentences.

Ways to support the Kill The Bill Protesters include sending letters, donating to the croudfunders and helping to change the narrative that this was mindless…
