As the pandemic intensifies alongside corruption scandals and the unrestrained plundering of Indigenous lands, Jair Bolsonaro’s government faces pressure from the streets and the left wing of the state.

But what will it take to unseat him and break out of the patterns that brought him to power?

The parallels between Brazil and the United States run deep. Both are settler colonial states founded on slavery. The United States has largely completed its frontier phase, while Brazil continues to expand extraction efforts into Indigenous territories.

Algiers (ECS). – According to the last one, a balance of the Algerian authorities, since the beginning of the fires, 37 civilians and 28 soldiers who participated in the rescue of people surrounded by fire have died. In addition, 12 soldiers are admitted in serious condition for burns.

The Algerian Civil Protection has detailed that among the affected provinces are Bejaia, Blida, Bordj Bu Arreridj, Bumerdes, Buira, Guelma and Jenchela. They are joined by Jijel, Médea, Msila, Sétif, Skikda, Tiaret and Tizi Uzu, as reported in the newspaper ‘Tout sur l’Algerie’, according to Europa Press.
