The ANC ( Catalan National Assenbly) and the Assange’s mother Christine Assange have given support to the international activist on hunger strike for the freedom of the Catalan people and Julian Assange …. . By Shaltai Boltay
The human rights defender pirate activist arrived in Athus (Belgium) municipality that marks the first 205kms traveled 50% of his libertarian walk through the Catalan people and Wikileaks editor Julian Assange.
Supported by members of the collective Anonymous, ANC, European Pirates, Julian Assange’s own mother and various Catalan and international activists, the activist expelled four days ago from France by Gendarmeria Jorge Fernández, passed 23 days on a hunger strike after more than 200 km traveled and 15% loss of muscle mass; an effort recognized and valued every day by a greater number of people.
Julian Assange had come out in support of the right of Catalans to hold a referendum consultation on independence with a live speech by internet to thousands of demonstrators in Barcelona.
This was used as an excuse for isolating him and cutting his internet connection, leading to his eventual arrest and probable extradition to face hundreds of years jail in the US for publishing the truth on Wikileaks about US military crimes.
The case is seen a a way to gag all journalists from daring to tell the truth about powerful tyrants on mass media. Chelsea Manning is now jailed and receiving a $1000 per day fine for refusing to testify against Julian Assange.
But the majority of the mass media, though happy to make money publishing the Wikileaks scandals, have now failed to support Assange and aided the continuing massive campaign to blacken his name.
