Not just France but all Europe should ban US Frack Gas.. The US frackers are EXEMPT from clean water laws and get all kinds of hidden subsidies with all opposition steamrollered, while permanently poisoning acuifers, releasing mega amounts of methane which isn’t even measured, destroying people’s health causing cancers and deformities with total impunity, killing animals, insects, fish, birds, etc and abandoning wells right, left and center to frack new ones, leaving toxic ponds….. etc etc.
Why should we accept their ecocidal Frack Gas?? We have far too much already, there’s a glut of gas, and it’s just adding to Climate Chaos.. Is it just to give the US more profits and help them screw the Russians? Why should we help NATO lunatic morons surround and provoke Russia with more and more bases and nuclear missiles?
We note that the most corrupt states ..(ie Spain) are falling over themselves to accept US Frack Gas, ditching their old suppliers. These Spanish gentlemen are famous for swindling thousands of millions of euros in the Energy Industry, and you may be sure that anonymous cheques in US dollars are falling like confetti in the anonymous offshore accounts of energy ministers around Europe.
Meanwhile their subjects struggle to survive and their banks evict 600,000 people in Spain and sell off the property to US corporations. Oh YES there’s lots of lovely LOOT about for the already obscenely rich.
In Spain the Government boasted they will be a GAS HUB and will rent a fleet of gas tankers to import US Frack Gas and somehow sabotage the Russian economy , that they will finally finish building the new pipeline (Midcat) and plan to pump the US Frack Gas from the Barcelona port gasification plant to France and beyond… and they have repeatedly sought EU funding and authority to force the French to agree.
France may ban US fracked gas imports
By Timothy Cama France is examining how it could legally ban the import of fracked natural gas from the United States. The potential ban comes as America is ramping up its LNG exports to Europe.
Ségolène Royal, France’s minister of energy, told lawmakers in the National Assembly Tuesday that because France has banned hydraulic fracturing within its own borders, it should also prohibit fracked gas imports, according to AFP. The issue has arisen because two companies, Électricité de France and Engie, have signed contracts to buy liquefied natural gas from the United States, where most of it comes from fracked wells.

”Gas Natural quiere estar entre las primeras compañías que tengan acceso al gas de Estados Unidos. La compañía quiere adelantar la recepción desde la planta de licuefacción de Sabine Pass, en la que tiene firmado un contrato de larga duración a partir de 2017.
La gasista fue de las primeras compañías en alcanzar este acuerdo y logró así unos precios más competitivos que algunos de sus principales competidores.”
00La planta de Sabine Pass ha comenzado durante estos últimos días las primeras cargas de gas se espera que realice el primer envío a través del barco Energy Atlantica finales de este mismo mes.
Según explicó el propio consejero delegado de Gas Natural, Rafael Villaseca, en la presentación de resultados de la compañía a principios de noviembre pasado, la intención es poder adelantar la llegada de gas a este mismo año.
Por otro lado, Gas Natural está reforzando su cartera de aprovisionamiento de gas para este año. La compañía ha cerrado dos contratos por 1 bcm (1.000 millones de metros cúbicos de gas) con la compañía india Gail, así como a la egipcia EGAS.
Gas Natural tiene previsto presentar su plan estratégico el próximo mes de febrero si no hay nuevos cambios de fecha por la incertidumbre que generan el coste de los hidrocarburos. La compañía se ha lanzado a un importante plan para incrementar el número de puntos de suministro tanto en España como en Chile.”
Actualmente India y el gran Oriente Medio acaparan el mayor crecimiento en importaciones de GNL tras el freno que está experimentando Japón al volver a arrancar algunas de sus centrales nucleares.”
España, hub del gas
”Gas Natural, al igual que otras grandes energéticas españolas, contratarán a partir del año que viene alrededor de 10 buques metaneros para poder importar el gas desde EEUU.
España es uno de los países con mayor capacidad para recibir el gas de EEUU al tener una amplia instalación de plantas de regasificación. La llegada de este hidrocarburo a nuestro país podría reducir el nivel de depencia del gas de Rusia pero para ello es necesario avanzar en las interconexiones.”
