From here we send a strong greeting to Nahuel, and also, of course, his family, who unfortunately have had to go through this inhuman situation and vengeful repression.

They have become a human example of struggle and solidarity. Now it is time to take care of yourself, Nahuel, and enjoy freedom while you continue to prepare the defense of the judgment to obtain total absolution.

Today from the writing team of Regeneration we want to publish this little note, showing our excitement about the release of comrade Nahuel. He had been in jail in Aranjuez until yesterday, having passed through other prisons previously, and since November 4, 2015 when he was detained along with other colleagues of the group Straight Edge Madrid in the framework of the Police Operation Ice.

This operation orchestrated from the Ministry of the Interior, entered into the strategic repression organized by the authorities that sought to deteriorate the image of the political groups in struggle and well noted  in recent years for maintaining a tactic of taking the streets as the only way to fight, as well as popular empowerment by creating networks of response to capitalism.

Nahuel and the group Straight Edge, for those who do not yet know, were politically positioned against the consumption of tobacco, drugs, alcohol, and also in defense of anti-specism. Their actions therefore came within the scope of didactics and social awareness against  this important aspect of consumption.

Nahuel is the only member of this group who, accused of belonging to a terrorist organization, and was alleged by the courts to ‘ not have roots in Spain but in Latin American (despite having lived in the Spanish state for a very long time), and has been perversely and scandalously kept incarcerated for almost 500 days ,much of the time he was held incommunicado and suffered  disproportionate reprisals inside the prison.

They have added onto Nahuel all the methods of social vengeance that the Spanish penitentiary and judicial system have been endeavouring to develop. It is a great lie that prisons are places of social reintegration, on the contrary prisons are the cages of punishment of the poor of this society, and you suffer disproportionate ‘corrections’ if you show any disagreement with these inequalities. In addition, in this country any social response is repressed with the excuse of terrorism

From Nahuel “I was arrested with other friends for being part of Straight Edge Madrid. The government considers us a terrorist group. The reason? Being a part of the demonstration against the government here in Spain. For being part of the people that never left alone the ones who lost their homes. Me, like my friends, were part of the anti-eviction movement, and also the animal liberation movement. They call us terrorists. They call me terrorist. But we were a group of friends that wanted to create a drug free space in the anarchist and antifascist hardcore punk scene in Madrid. We wanted to show that being Straight Edge is much more than expensive shoes, mosh dancing or stage dancing. It means to make a change. I use my sobriety for helping others who want to fight their addictions. I used it to fight injustice and oppression, to claim animal and human liberation. Nahuel Libre: La solidaridad que nos une

Desde aquí le enviamos a Nahuel un fuerte saludo, y también, por supuesto a su familia, que desgraciadamente les ha tocado pasar por esta situación inhumana y de venganza represiva. Se han convertido en ejemplo humano de lucha y de solidaridad. Ahora toca dejarse cuidar y disfrutar de la libertad mientras se sigue preparando la defensa del juicio para conseguir la absolución total.

Hoy desde el equipo de redacción de Regeneración queremos publicar esta pequeña nota, mostrando nuestra emoción por la puesta en libertad del compañero Nahuel. Este se encontraba en la cárcel de Aranjuez hasta el día de ayer, habiendo pasado por otras cárceles anteriormente, y desde el 4 de noviembre de 2015 cuando fue detenido junto a otros/as compañeros/as del colectivo Straight Edge Madrid en el marco de la operación policial Ice.

Esta operación orquestada desde el Ministerio del Interior, entraba en la estratégica represión organizada desde las instancias del poder que pretendía deteriorar la imagen de los colectivos políticos en lucha y referentes en estos últimos años por mantener una táctica de tomar las calles como único camino de lucha y el empoderamiento popular creando redes de respuesta al capitalismo.

Nahuel y el colectivo Straight Edge, para quienes aún no lo conozcan, se posicionaban políticamente contra el consumo de tabaco, drogas, alcohol, y también en defensa del antiespecismo. Sus acciones por lo tanto entraban en el ámbito de la didáctica y concienciación social sobre este importante aspecto contra el consumo.

Nahuel es el único integrante de este colectivo que, acusado de pertenencia a organización terrorista, y alegando los tribunales falta de arraigo por sus raíces latinoamericanas (a pesar de convivir en el Estado español hace muchísimo tiempo), le han mantenido perversamente casi 500 días encerrado, gran parte de ellos incomunicado y con desproporcionadas represalias dentro de la cárcel.

Se han sumado sobre él, todas las características de venganza social que el sistema penitenciario y judicial español vienen demostrando desarrollar. Es una gran mentira que las cárceles sean lugares de reinserción social, sino que las cárceles son las jaulas de castigo de los pobres de esta sociedad, y se convierten en correccionales desproporcionados si te muestras disconforme con las desigualdades. Además, en este país con la excusa del terrorismo se reprime indiscriminadamente a la contestación social.
