Stop! Filming the change is a documentary recorded by a women’s team and financed collectively.

For a month we travel through different alternatives between Spain and France in search of other ways of life more respectful of the environment and the people who inhabit it.

The theory of degrowth on which we rely on alerts us to the impossibility of continuing to produce as it has done up to now on a planet whose resources are finite.

These levels of consumption have led us to the disappearance of forests, to have polluted rivers and seas, intoxicated food systems … all fueled by financial speculation and a carefree political class both socially and environmentally.

How much longer can we wait for a global paradigm shift to occur? Is it possible to live happily drastically reducing our needs?

DECRECIMIENTO   (Degrowth)

This documentary has won several awards at international environmental film festivals in 2016 and 2017 and is now to be screened in cinemas.

The projection that we announce here will take place in the CINETECA DEL MATADERO DE MADRID IN SESSION OF 18:30 ON DAYS 5, 6 AND 7 OF DECEMBER. Entry is free until full.

We strongly recommend this vision, because it invites us to reflect on the situation in our world and opens the way that seems more rational, even if it needs sacrifice, in order to get out of this spiral of destruction of the environment in which we find ourselves: Consume less and stop believing in that technology, the new religion, will save us from what technology has brought us.

Faced with the collapse of the socio-economic system because of the environmental crisis and resources that the planet suffers, a new social movement, aware of the limits of the biosphere, builds a sustainable alternative.

There is a present world, the world of desire, of “having”, of “always more”, characterized by the absence of limits to economic growth. A world that today collapses because of the decline of energy resources, raw materials and the environmental crisis.

And there is a world that is already arriving, the world of “being”, where more and more people reinvent their way of life adapting it to the limits of the biosphere and to the real needs of the human being.
