With the success of Russia’s operations in Ukraine, we have to be concerned about NATO reacting to their strategic defeat by shifting their aggression not only to intense economic and propaganda warfare against Russia but also against Russia’s position in the Baltic region.
The blockade imposed on Kaliningrad on June 20th by Lithuania, a NATO member, and approved by the European Union, on the pretext of enforcing their illegal ‘sanctions,” is a direct act of war against Russia which will lead to immediate action by Russia to end the blockade, and follows the NATO logic which has been expressed openly for some time.
In February 2016, The Atlantic Council, the NATO think tank in the USA, issued a report called, “Alliance At Risk.”
In that report they stated:
“The Russian invasion of Crimea, its support for separatists, and its invasion of eastern Ukraine have effectively ripped up the post-Cold War settlement of Europe. Russia is now a de facto strategic adversary. Even more dangerously, the threat is potentially existential, because Putin has constructed an international dynamic that could put Russia on a collision course with NATO. At the center of this collision would be the significant Russian-speaking populations in the Baltic States…’
The document uses language that indicates that the NATO powers do not recognize Russia’s sovereignty over Kaliningrad that was established at the end of the Second World War, claiming that Russia “has ripped up” the post-Cold War settlement of Europe.
NATO has continuously increased its presence in the area. A multinational battle group, led by soldiers from the US Army’s 2nd Cavalry Regiment, was stationed in Poland, and is now joined by the 82nd Airborne Division not far from the country’s border with Kaliningrad.
Canadian army units are now in Latvia, near Riga, along with other NATO forces. The unit is part of NATO’s Enhanced Forward Presence, which is intended, they pretend, “to deter potential Russian aggression” and on June 19th the US journal Politico reported that 650 German soldiers had joined other NATO units and were now in Lithuania to protect it “from Russian aggression.”
This of course is exactly in line with the demands of the Alliance At Risk Report that called for a NATO force to be placed in Poland.
We have to wonder whether Biden’s visit to the US 82nd Airborne Division that was recently sent to Poland was really about events in Ukraine or something else, that being, to create another threat against Russia at Kaliningrad.

The neoliberal government of Guillermo Lasso has spared no resources when it comes to repressing the National Strike in Ecuador, which already has 12 days of protests.
LASSO OUT OUT OUT
But if the lefts do not transcend their sectarianism and resentments to articulate a great multinational and popular front, it will be difficult to provide an in-depth response to this crisis.
Get out, Lasso, get out» is heard in the streets of the capital of Ecuador in the framework of the twelfth day of national strike called by the Confederation of Indigenous Nationalities of Ecuador (CONAIE).
From the beginning, CONAIE’s leading role was accompanied by countless of the broadest organizations and groups in the popular field: students, peasants, unions, transporters, women, feminists, artists, informal workers.
The ten-point agenda demanded by CONAIE was the initial platform with which they launched the strike, but as social mobilization progressed and the consequent repressive response by the State, as well as the presidential myopia to process this conflict, the destituent slogan took more force.
These kinds of slogans (“let them all go!”, “get out, president, get out!”) by mobilized social sectors who are fed up with political representatives who are far from society are not new in the Andean country. The last three presidential falls (1997, 2000 and 2005) were marked by intense contentious episodes and social mobilization discursively framed by an aversion to the political class, in particular to the figure that embodies the highest investiture, the president.
Said repulsion always acquired a destituent form that was embodied in a peculiar social imaginary: in the face of any social, economic or political crisis that has its correlate in the activation of the constituent power (the mobilized people), the political solution is the presidential resignation or fall.
Social imaginaries, said Cornelius Castoriadis, as a set of representations, norms, affections, desires and meanings shared by a social group, are a source of creation. They produce the world. They have the power to operate in reality, offering both opportunities and restrictions for the actions of subjects that, in turn, can have instituting and institutional effects. They can. It doesn’t always happen.
Social imaginaries, even radical ones (those that, according to the Greek philosopher, are based on an imagination, a fantasy, projected autonomously, politicized, with a vocation for change), do not always produce new institutions and social practices and disrupt power relations .
The Indigenous Binnizá community of Puente Madera mobilize in defense of their common lands against the construction of an industrial park, one of the ten industrial parks being proposed as part of the Interoceanic Corridor Megaproject in the Isthmus of Tehuantepec.

Today, once again, inhabitants of Puente Madera are mobilizing. It has been a year since members of our community found out that the installation of an industrial park in our common-use hill, El Pitayal, was being considered.
It has been a year since the first assembly of comuneros was convoked by Antonio Morales Toledo who in that moment was the municipal president of San Blas Atempa. Today he is the right-hand man of Salomón Jara Cruz, the governor-elect of Oaxaca who recently won in a state-wide election marked by widespread abstentionism.
Lithuanian Ultras vow to force Russian and then NATO Attack.
For the EU to impose even a partial blockade of Russian territory presents a tremendous risk to regional stability and world peace.
The ultra nationalist Lithuanian regime threatens to defy EU orders to back down, thus forcing Russian intervention to defend its 1 million citizens.
Kaliningrad center…the Gibraltar of the Baltic-
Under NATO article 5 it must then also intervene to defend its Lithuanian member. All are talking about the risk of World War III.
The EU commissioner Borrell promised 2 days ago to “sort something out”. Yet still on 27th June Lithuania insists it is going it alone by the 4th round of EU sanctions. Poland is being somewhat more careful, it seems.
Lithuanians hate Russians. In 1940 when Hitler was set to take over the Baltic states Lithuanians rebelled against Russian/Soviet preventive occupation, killing thousands of ethnic Russians and welcoming the nazi takeover.
1941..the majority of Lithuanians enthusiastically helped Hitler’s invading fascists to murder 95% of all Jews, men women and kids, nearly 200,000 people and the highest percentage in Europe..
Even after the nazis were finally expelled after killing over 20 million Soviets the Lithuanian resistance (LAF) organized a long suicidal war against Stalin, who was not pleased.
Only 6% of Lithuanians are now ethnic Russian. We don’t know why, but the Lithuanian regime still hates all Russians, especially prosperous Kaliningrad, and are happy to spark off a World War Armageddon to prove it.

Will Lithuania Rail ‘Blockade’ of Kaliningrad Have Unintended Consequences?
Lithuania has blocked a number of rail-transport goods from reaching the Russia exclave of Kaliningrad. Vilnius says it is merely adhering to the EU-mandated sanctions regime, but Moscow warns it has broken international law. Is this a casus belli?
