We’re saddened to announce the passing of Paul Z. Simons, longtime anarchist, journalist, and author. Paul was an anarchist writer with a playful spirit, an uncompromising love of life, and equally uncompromising hatred for authority—be it from the right or the left. We treasure our memories of Paul. His presence will be sorely missed.
Recalled by his eldest daughter as “a uniquely intelligent writer, traveler, idealist, and fire-breathing anarchist,” Paul participated in some of the most inspiring thought and action of the past forty years.
We are not equipped to properly write his eulogy, but we hope others will, and now that he is no longer able to speak to you himself, we urge you to read the materials he left behind.
An undercover police officer allegedly befriended an elderly activist as cover for intelligence-gathering. She was partially blind and deaf. The ‘spycop’ went on to head Special Branch.

During 1980 and 1981, police officer Roger Pearce used the cover name Roger Thorley to spy on members of the anarchist Freedom Press in London’s Whitechapel. As ‘Thorley’, he wrote several articles [pdf] for the newspaper Freedom, attacking the police.
As part of his cover, he is alleged to have been a ‘chauffeur’ for veteran anarchist Leah Feldman. At the time, Feldman was in her 80s, was partially deaf and blind, and often needed help moving around.
Pearce was first identified as an undercover police officer in June 2014. In March 2017, Lord Pitchford (then head of the Undercover Policing Inquiry) refused [pdf] anonymity status for Pearce. The inquiry subsequently revealed that Pearce had infiltrated anarchist groups from 1979 to 1984.
In July 2013, when Pearce was asked about the practice of undercover police officers forming sexual relationships so as to gain intelligence, he said:

The centre was still being rebuilt after another fascist attack last November. The fascists are well known but enjoy impunity, encouragement and even financial aid via the Spanish State for hundreds of attacks in a bid to stifle public support for imprisoned Catalan activists and politicians. he probado el plug-in.. salió rapidamente una lista de 16 videos , 7 de ellos eran claramente PROPAGANDA POR NAZIS, uno glorificando un ataque sexual y la mayoria de los demás peliculas y dibujos animados con contenido muy racista. Explican todo..(menos mal porque yo no habría dado cuento a veces). Pero si no sabes algo de inglés hay que traducir, y parece que los compañeros de Nueva York no hablan castellano, así que faltaria el plug-in también en más idiomas. … Hacer la denuncia es un clic, un momento, he denunciado todos.
31st July 2018 We just checked and the No Platform for Fascism Tool Kit, seems to be unavailable on Firefox , at least here in Spain. Doesn’t appear on search.
But it may still exist for those who already have it installed, we relaunched Firefox and lost it.
On Chrome you can still install it with this link..Chrome. but it also doesnt appear in the search list.

The Metropolitan Anarchist Coordinating Council, an organization facilitating collaboration between New York City-based anarchists, believes that the far right must be fought on every front.
Accordingly, MACC recently released the No Platform for Fascism Tool Kit, a browser plug-in for both Chrome and Firefox, which each week serves users videos from neo-Nazi, white supremacist, and ethno-nationalist individuals and organizations to report.
