Trump beats up NATO members in American Protection Racket

   by Finian Cunningham    The capo-in-chief flew into Brussels like many feared he would, beating up on other NATO members with a combination of blackmail and extortion.

President Trump wants the others to cough up more dough for the “protection” provided to them by the United States. The American leader berated European heads of state as if they were naughty children, accusing them of “freeloading” on US military power for their defense over many decades, and of giving nothing back.

Trump singled out Germany in particular for his sharpest dressing down. He accused the top European economic power of being “controlled by Russia” owing to its supposed dependence on Russian oil and gas.

Trump used that claim as a form of blackmail, alleging that Germany has been giving billions of dollars to Moscow for energy supplies, while cheating on financial payments to NATO because it relies on US military defenses. The Revolutionary Court in Tehran, under the direction of Judge Moghiseh, sentenced anarchist prisoner Soheil Arabi to 5 years imprisonment for blasphemy and 1 year for propaganda against the state

His wife, Nastaran Naimi, was also sentenced to 1 and a half years in prison

Soheil Arabi has been tortured in Evin Prison, suffering severe beatings that left him bruised & his nose broken

On June 1, when he was taken to surgery, soldiers beat him in the Khomeini Hospital. Soheil is now under quarantine

Soheil Arabi born August 21, 1985, is an Iranian blogger who was  sentenced to death in Iran in 2014 on charges of insulting the Prophet Mohammad in his postings on Facebook

Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) agents arrested Arabi at his home in Tehran in November 2013. He then spent two months in the IRGC’s Ward 2-A in Evin Prison.

During interrogation, he was pressured into confessing his alleged crimes. He was then transferred to Section 350 of Evin, which is under control of the Iranian judiciary.

On 30 August 2014, a five-judge panel of Branch 76 of the Criminal Court of Tehran sentenced Arabi to death for “insulting the Prophet of Islam” in eight Facebook accounts allegedly belonging to Arabiپایگاه خبری تحلیلی عصرآنارشیسم

On 4 September 2014, Branch 15 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court also sentenced Arabi to three years in prison on charges of “insulting the Supreme Leader” and “propaganda against the state” in his postings on Facebook

In late September 2015, his sentence was commuted to “reading 13 religious books and studying theology for two years.

He was still imprisoned and almost died in 2017 when he did a 55 day hunger strike to protest the arrest of his wife  Nastaran Naimi.

#SeaWatch: Hundreds more Drown as Rescue Boats deliberately Blocked. #RacistEurope

#SeaWatch: The obstruction of rescue services leads to another boat accident – death rate at record high

Anyone who obstructs rescue services is liable to prosecution, nobody would intentionally block an ambulance – but that is exactly what is happening: rescue ships are being blocked, with deadly consequences.

According to UNHCR, another boat accident occurred yesterday, 114 people are missing. It is already the third since rescue ships have been blocked in Malta, on Sunday at least 63 people drowned, Friday there were over 100 including 3 babies.

The weeks before, several hundred people had already drowned. According to the IOM, this June is with 629 the deadliest in 5 years, although only half as many people have arrived in Italy. Ukraine fascists kill and injure Roma gypsies in New Attack on Camp

A group of masked assailants attacked a  Roma minority camp on the outskirts of Lviv, killing one man and wounding four others.

Police said on Sunday that a group of masked individuals carrying baseball bats and knives stormed the camp housing the Roma minority on the outskirts of the city of Lviv late on Saturday.

”According to Ukraine’s Zaxid.net, the recent lethal attack on a Roma camp in Ukraine has been linked by the law enforcement to a popular VKontakte (VK) community called “Sober and Angry Youth” (Твереза та зла молодь Ukrainian, or Трезвая и Злая Молодежь in Russian). The largest page linked to this straight-edge, neo-Nazi group has over 85,000 followers, while there are numerous local “chapters” of the organization across Ukraine, Russia, and other Slavic countries”.

A 24-year-old man died from stab wounds and four more people were brought to hospital, including a 10-year-old Roma boy and a 30-year-old woman, police spokesman Yaroslav Trakalo told AFP news agency.

This country is not unique in this either – as animal liberation has across the world, so in its wake has followed a state and corporate backlash.

Anarchism – with its critique of power, hierarchy and capitalism – can help us understand how repression works and how we can work to resist it.

Related imageThe threat of far right and racist infiltration has grown as well. Attempts in the past to use AR as a vehicle for fascism failed. Now thanks to the internet, social media, low morale and  fragmentation – and the naïve belief some hold that fighting for animals takes precedence over everything else- extreme right wing groups are trying to gain a foothold.

These problems don’t affect animal rights alone. Anarchism and the libertarian left also face them.  The Earth First Journal published an article entitled “The New Face of the Radical Right” about Anarchist Nationalism. Sounds like a contradiction in terms, doesn’t it? After spending the last 4 and a half years kidnapped in the North Prison of México City (DF), on the night of June 11th Fernando Bárcenas, returned to the streets! A group of around twenty libertarian anarchist friends travelled to the outside of the North male preventive prison (ReNo) [in DF] in order to wait for the departure of Fernando Bárcenas after four years and six months of prison.

He was arrested at the age of 18, while studying at the College of Humanities and Sciences and working in a furniture factory. He was arrested on December 13th, 2013 and accused of burning a Christmas tree belonging to Coca Cola during a protest against fare increases on the metro in DF.
