United Kingdom: Activists Blockade Mass Deportation Flight.. 17  arrests

Police have arrested 17 anti-deportation protesters who locked themselves to an aircraft at Stansted airport, preventing a charter flight due to remove asylum seekers and other migrants from the UK from taking off.

The protesters locked themselves to the wing of a Titan Airways flight and refused to move.  All 17 protesters involved with the action have been arrested on suspicion of aggravated trespass and are now in police custody.

Essex police said they had received reports that a group of protesters gained access to Stansted airport’s airside at about 9.30pm on Tuesday night. A spokesman said: “We were contacted by Stansted airport after protesters entered and locked themselves on to an aircraft destined for Nigeria. Officers remain at the scene to carry out further investigations. Inquiries are ongoing.”

Campaigners said the protest was to stop a Home Office “mass deportation charter flight” from the Essex airport to Nigeria and Ghana. They said that deportees on the flight included people who feared for their lives and had claimed asylum…… Continue reading “UK Activists Block Runway, close Stanstead Airport and Stop Mass Deportation”

France: Tower Occupation Victory may win Migrant Workers the Right to Stay

Successful occupation of the Tower could be a precedent in getting Right to Stay

A victory for 105 migrant workers could be on the cards following their two-week occupation of Semmaris Tower in Paris demanding they and 23 other comrades be regularised and given full rights at work.

The sans-papiers (lacking ID papers), who are organised with section 94 of the CGT union (France), have been holed up on the ground floor at Rungis market in the Chevilly-Larue commune since March 13 in protest at the failure of authorities to deal with their claims for legal regularisation. en castellano más abajo

“Viva la Quinta Brigada” (listed as “Viva la Quince Brigada” in later recordings) is a Christy Moore song about the Irishmen who fought in the Spanish Civil War against Franco. The title was inspired by a Spanish song about the war, ‘Viva la Quince Brigada‘.

Moore wrote this song choosing to focus on the Irish socialist volunteers (who in later years became known as the Connolly Column) who were a small contingent within the 15th International Brigade.

The song was inspired by Spanish Civil War veteran Michael O’Riordan‘s book Connolly Column. Continue reading “Christy Moore sings ‘Viva la Quince Brigada’, live in Scotland”

Guide to Collective Direct Action: time for Rebellion that Wins

From CrimethInc.via

by CrimethInc. Ex-Workers Collective  ..  Direct action, simply put, means cutting out the middleman: solving problems yourself rather than petitioning the authorities or relying on external institutions. Any action that sidesteps regulations and representation to accomplish goals directly is direct action—it includes everything from blockading airports to helping refugees escape to safety and organizing programs to liberate your community from reliance on capitalism. Here we present a step-by-step guide to organizing and carrying out direct action, from the first planning stages to the debrief at the end, including legal support, media strategy, and proper security.

Direct action guide 1

There are countless scenarios in which you might want to employ direct action. Continue reading “Guide to Collective Direct Action: time for Rebellion that Wins”

Asli is the154th journalist jailed as Turkey heads for full Fascism

Now is the best moment to resist the slide into Fascism and
Genocide in Turkey. President Erdogan is already a ‘de facto’ dictator, already showing symptoms of megalomania. Buoyed by a far right populist party, a racist anti Kurdish blitz and the biggest purge of suspected opposition since Josef Stalin, Erdogan will hold a referendum on April 16th to grant him total power. Who dares to  vote against him? After that we will have a militant Fascist State in Europe. Erdogan will have ”legitimacy” to bring back the death penalty for those suspected of insulting him, and embark on a serious genocide of the millions of progressive left and Kurdish youth, etc..

Fran and Monica are FREE .. Affinity and Solidarity against Victimization and Authority

pandoraBy  Anonymous Contributor   These words arrived with a delay due to the restrictive communications of the Spanish extermination centers. On March 7th, 2017 Mónica and Francisco were finally released to Chile, where they were greeted with a great deal of media and repressive threats. Finally, they have returned to the street with their dignity intact.

Affinity and Solidarity against victimization and authority

In the struggle to break with the establishment we look for and create relationship forms that are contrary to imposition and authority. Forms that help us feel comfortable in order to develop autonomously in our proposals and acts of daily confrontation.

With this feeling we understand affinity represents the most suitable way for anarchist relations and that it’s not the fruit of empty slogans repeated until satiation, but the result of practices and shared visions that have helped generate long lasting bonds of passionate friendship and intimacy, that go beyond the simple bonds of just friends….continues below
