La película nos sirve para reflexionar acerca de muchos temas, como la situación y la composición de la clase obrera en los países centrales, las formas de lucha que puede adoptar en este principio de siglo o sobre las diferencias económicas y las desigualdades sociales.

También acerca de la explotación de la mujer trabajadora, de la situación de la fracción de la clase de origen extranjero o sobre las luchas que quedan por venir.

The Committee of the Families of the Detained and Disappeared in Honduras issues an ACTION ALERT to the national and international community on behalf of members of the political and social movement of Honduras who are at high risk due to the militarization of the capital of the republic and declarations made by functionaries of the state of Honduras inciting their supporters into the streets to attack the political opposition that is actively responding to the irresponsibility of the Supreme Electoral Tribunal that has denied the population the right to information about the tabulation of votes from the election on November 26th, 2017. Honduras received $17.3m in security aid from the US this year.

Outraged at the the theft of Honduras’ election by the discredited current administration, 50 US rights groups have joined call to urge the US to press Honduras for electoral transparency.

On 3rd Dec the opposition led by Nasralla demanded a repetition of the elections as the count continued to be stalled, with the Govt being given a slight lead and election officials fearing for their lives.

By 4th Dec seven demonstrators were reported killed around the country.

Background

On November 26, 2017 elections for president, members of Congress and municipal authorities were held in Honduras. At 2 am on November 27 the Electoral Tribunal reported that with 57% of the votes counted the tendency favored candidate Salvador Nasralla with 45,17% of the total votes and the President – candidate

Juan Orlando Hernández with 40,21%. This was the first time that a candidate ran for re-election as president through an assault on the Constitution via the Supreme Court of Justice controlled by Hernández.

After releasing those figures, the Tribunal went silent and the electronic counting system crashed several times, creating a security breach for those holding the access codes. STOP the Uranium Mine: Demo/Mani 26 Nov. en Salamanca

No to the uranium mine, yes to life ..No a la mina de uranio, sí a la vida

by José Ramón Barrueco A company of Australian origin, Berkeley Minera España SL, intends to open several open-cast uranium mines in the province of Salamanca, 40 hectares of a holm oak grove in perfect state of preservation have already been destroyed. The extracted uranium ore would be treated in a concentrates plant in the town of Retortillo, which is also the mining project most developed by the company Berkeley.

The majority of the inhabitants of the area oppose the planned mines due to the negative effects that this activity will entail for the region: explosions with expulsion of radioactive dust into the atmosphere thec(negative effect of radon gas), tyhe continuous transfer of trucks and heavy machinery, loss of forest, diversion of water courses, etc.

In spite of the neighborhood opposition, the different administrations involved have given their approval to the development of uranium mining in Salamanca. In the case of Retortillo, the actions of the local council have been shameful, preventing a popular referendum that the mayor (of the PSOE) wanted from the polls in the 2015 elections and his replacement by a party member favorable to the interests of the mining company. AGENT ORANGE AND ROUNDUP: THE CONTINUING APOCALYPSE, 3rd GENERATION

..”First let’s rewind a bit: to the days when Monsanto Corporation started out as the maker of killer poisons like DDT, PCBs, and Agent Orange.

From 1961 to 1971, the US dropped 21 million gallons of defoliants over large swathes of Vietnam, of which 12 million gallons were Agent Orange – a herbicide manufactured for the US Department of Defense primarily by Monsanto Corporation and Dow Chemical.

Its name derives from the colour of the orange-striped barrels in which it was shipped. There were other colours in the ‘rainbow herbicides’, but Agent Orange was by far the most widely used.

The use of Agent Orange was an experimental form of chemical and biological warfare, designed to strip foliage and deny the enemy jungle cover – and to deprive enemy forces of their food supply (directly spraying rice-fields, for instance). Experimental in this instance meaning no idea of the long-term effects of this deadly herbicide, which can release dioxin – one of the most potent toxins known to mankind.

According to the post-war Vietnamese government, 4.8 million Vietnamese people were exposed to Agent Orange, resulting in 400,000 deaths and disabilities, and 500,000 children born with birth defects.

And now, five decades later, with the cooperation of the US government, Monsanto is knocking on Vietnam’s door with another potentially carcinogenic herbicide: Roundup. GMO seeds are considered dangerous not only because they are modified, but also because they are designed to work with the chemical herbicide Roundup, Monsanto’s market-leading glyphosate brand.

The build-up of glyphosate in crops is suspected as a leading cause of a spike in cases of autism, cancer, and long-term illnesses in America. Not to mention a possible link with bee colony die-offs. The use of Roundup is highly controversial and it has already been banned in a number of countries around the globe”.
