”We, intellectuals, writers, artists, politicians and human rights defenders, seek to draw urgent attention to the Turkish state’s invasion in Northern Syria and Rojava.

The Turkish army invaded the Northern Syrian City of Jarablus on 24 August 2016, using anti-ISIS operations as a pretext. The operation was in collaboration with the Syrian arm of El-Qaida (Jabhat Fatah al-Sham) and groups like Ahrar El-Sham.

ISIS handed over the city, Jarablus, without a single bullet being fired. This is a clear indication that there was a prior agreement between the parties that Jarablus would remain as a base for Salafi
groups. Therefore, Jarablus will remain as a corridor for foreign fighters to cross into Syria to receive training and then to cross back over in order to be distributed throughout Europe and the rest of the world.

From the third day of the operation (26 August 2016) onwards the attacks have been directed at Kurdish Forces, the Jarablus Military Council and the Minbij Military Council. Northern Syria has
been largely cleansed of ISIS by these forces with the support of the international coalition lead by theUS. By attacking these forces, Turkey is both interrupting the fight against ISIS and strengthening ISIS.

Tayip Erdogan and other Turkish authorities officially announced the purpose of the operation, at the outset, as the targeting of Kurdish forces alongside ISIS. Turkish army has engaged in airstrikes and shelling of civilian areas, killing at least 45 in two villages south of Jarablus.

Spain’s Catalonia region has launched the country’s first public DNA profiling project in a bid to identify some of the 114,000 people who disappeared during the nation’s civil war and subsequent dictatorship.

The issue is hugely sensitive in Spain, where rights abuses during the 1936-1939 conflict and the ensuing 36-year rule of dictator Francisco Franco remain uninvestigated for fear of reviving divisions.

Unpaid Saudi Guest Workers Starving as Bosses keep Billions Owed

The exploitation of migrant workers is turning into a full-fledged humanitarian crisis.

Dawlat Khan has worked as a health and safety officer for the construction firm Saudi Oger in Saudi Arabia for nearly eight years, but his experience took a turn for the worse 8 months ago when his monthly salary of US $2000 abruptly stopped.

According to The Middle East Eye (MEE) Khan is only one of some 50,000 Saudi Oger employees who have not been paid since last summer. The kingdom’s largest private company reportedly owes employees US $800 million in back pay.

Living in a work camp where rent is US $133 per month, Khan has to rely on friends for food and accommodation costs. Most crucially, like many migrant workers in the country, Khan’s family is reliant on his earnings in the kingdom.

US betrays allies as Turkey vows to Destroy inspiring Rojava Revolution.

Late news, The Kurds and allies, the SDF/YPG have retreated south of the river Sajur to make a defensive line against Turkey attacking the liberated from ISIS city of Manbij. Manbij, like all towns in the Rojava revolution, is run democratically and with sex equality by a Council composed proportionally of all the local forces (not by the SDF/YPG).

This is what Turkish tanks and jets are aiming to destroy and replace with the medieval mockery of Islam of their ISIS and allied militias. The SDF/YPG have no tanks or air force and have been betrayed by their US allies so can not now continue the offensive against ISIS in Al Bab or towards Raqqa..

As predicted here the Turkish anti ISIS invasion of Syria is an excuse to continue their genocidal murder torture, repression and enslavement of Kurds and all things Kurdish.

Back in Turkey the police have closed down the only Kurdish Language Newspaper (for about 18 million Kurds) The paper was already compelled to adopt a strict pro-government line, the assault on the headquarters ‘Azadiya Welat’ by agents of Erdogan has clearly political intentions.

The entire staff of 27 people were arrested and their fate is unknown.

It was the only newspaper in the Kurdish language in the whole of Turkey and follows a long line of repression against the Kurdish minority .

We recall that one month and three days ago the Turkish conservative Islamist government also arrested Zeynel Abidin Bulut, editor of the same publication.

Erdogan is at present negotiating visa free entry in the EU and threatening repeatedly to ‘unleash millions of refugees’ on Europe unless his visa and other demands are met.

This is at least the third time it has happened. That a massacre of Kurds has been immediately followed up by a Turkish State attack on Kurds. In this case the ‘Childrens Massacre’ is being used as an obvious pretext to invade Syria. These are the 3 apparent ‘False Flag’ attacks:

– July 20, 2015, Suruç: 34 Kurdish humanitarian volunteers were killed and about 100 injured in a suicide bombing in the predominantly-Kurdish town of Suruc near the border with Syria. Turkish officials blamed ISIS.

But instead of cracking down on ISIS they immediately began a blitzkrieg persecution of the Kurds themselves who were the victims, resulting in the end of the ceasefire and the whole Peace Process initiated by the Kurdish leader Ocalan, and a wave of Turkish nationalism that boosted Erdogan’s march to supreme dictator. ISIS never claimed the attack.

2. – October 10, 2015: 103 people are killed and more than 500 wounded in twin suicide bombings targeting a pro-Kurdish Peace Rally in Ankara. Again while blaming ISIS the Turkish State unleashed a wave of terror on the Kurdish victims themselves, criminalising the whole Kurdish political and cultural sector, sparking a war with the PKK guerilla volunteers, killing hundreds of civilians and bombing whole cities, like Cizre and Nusaybin into ruins.
