Turkey’s Justice Minister Bekir Bozdag said during a parliamentary session that 1,845 cases have been registered in relation to insulting Erdogan since 2014 when the hawkish Turkish leader took office as president.

“I am unable to read the insults leveled at our president. I start to blush,” he said in defense of the prosecutions.’

Rebel Pussy parades defy Catholic Prosecution

en español abajo. We took to the streets to denounce the insecurity faced by women, the violence to which we are subjected to and to claim the right to decide whether or not to become mothers. We made music with joy, dressed up and paraded, accompanied by a Rebellious Pussy through the streets of Seville on May 1st, 2014, as a metaphor of what we DON’T want to be: submissive trapped women .

Last Thursday, three of these demonstrators were cited as defendants to testify after a complaint lodged by the Spanish Association of Christian Lawyers who see the procession carrying the Rebel Pussy as a crime against their religious beliefs and a crime of incitement to discrimination, hatred and violence for reasons related to religion or belief, with a prison sentence of between one and four years and a fine . 2 Anarchists Charged With Terrorism For Puppet Show

Madrid ~ Two anarchist from the CNT who performed a “puppet show” were detained yesterday afternoon. They had been invited by Madrid city hall to perform a puppet show for the kids for the week of Carnival, in one part of this puppet show they put out a banner thatg says “Gora Alka-ETA” which has double meanings.

If you put “Gora ALKAETA” without a dash it could be saying “viva the mayor”(mayor in euskera is alkateta), but if you put it with dash it shows up as viva “ETA” (which is recognized as the ex Basque guerrilla group).The signs included the made-up word ‘alka’, also creating a slogan involving a play on words to sound like “Long Live al-Qaeda”. So the parent at the puppet show were “shocked”(as they were described) and they right away called the police to complain that this puppet show was “supporting and promoting Terrorism”.

Also they were complaining that the puppet show encouraged the kids “to occupy an empty house”.

Now these 2 comrades are charged with “Apología del terrorimso” which means they openly promoting and advocating terrorism, and could be sentenced 1 to 2 years in prison.

Their Facebook psge describes the puppet show….“Disguised with different faces, Don Cristóbal will try to crush a good witch, but she loves her freedom above all and will not to be trampled by anyone.”

We found a lawyer for the comrades, but they still detained.
