$hyper-toxic fracking waste water 2$ When Mister Craig Steinke, CEO and chief shareholder of R2 Energy, came to Castellón to convince the local Mayors and press of the benefits of Fracking and oil extraction he told them a pack of lies. 41 mayors of local towns affected by the Fracking Application gathered in the ‘Municipal Palace, with press, TV, and a picket from the Anti Fracking Platform outside. Here we refute those lies one by one, and illustrate the criminal scandal of Fracking. (see Reference 1 Craig Steinke. below)

This was Craig’s big chance to get a drilling permit, to boost his shares and make another fortune. He already got appox. $20 million from merging his previous company, Realm Energy into San Leon, of which he’s also CEO, after getting 10 Frack Permits in Northern Spain and multiplying share prices, (he owned over 30% of Realm himself). (See Ref.2.)

Idle No More: support the Indigenous Movement!

It has been gaining strength as a force of healing and regeneration. Idle No More calls for all to join in and participate.Chief Theresa Spence has now entered the 24th day of her hunger strike. At the end of a recent interview, she remarked that “I’m doing this for the children, not just [the] First Nations children, but for all.. children.”

At the end of 2012, the sounds of drumming began to resound in an unexpected place — in an American shopping mall. On Saturday in Minneapolis, the usual scenery of typical consumer life was interrupted for a moment. Uplifting beats and joyful singing rang out as if to break down the walls. It was contagious, inviting passing shoppers one by one into the circle. Welcome to Mother Earth!

At the center of the mall, a large circle emerged. Thousands gathered, chanting and dancing. The message delivered through the moving flash mob was simple, yet profound: no more colonization, attacks on indigenous rights, or violation of protected land and water!

I believe there has been no worse year for the natural world in the past half century.

Three weeks before the minimum occurred, the melting of the Arctic’s sea ice broke the previous record(1). Iconic remnants of the global megafauna – such as rhinos and bluefin tuna – were shoved violently towards extinction(2). Novel tree diseases raged across continents(3). Bird and insect numbers continued to plummet, coral reefs retreated, marine life dwindled. Chief Theresa Spence is now on Day 13 of her hunger strike. Too weak to leave the teepee she is living in on Victoria Island, a mere stone’s throw from Parliament, she called for a round dance yesterday at 24 Sussex Drive in Ottawa, Prime Minister Harper’s residence.

Throughout the duration of her hunger strike, Harper has maintained a chilly silence around the grassroots Indigenous movement now widely known as Idle No More, taking to Twitter instead to share his jokes about bacon with the Canadian electorate.

Make them Leave it in The Ground: How We can Resist Climate Suicide

”Preventing climate breakdown – the four, five or six degrees of warming now predicted for this century by green extremists like, er, the World Bank, the International Energy Agency and PriceWaterhouseCoopers (1 , 2 , 3 , ) – means confronting the oil, gas and coal industry.”

The only realistic way to do this is by making further development unprofitable. This seems impossible, even if extraction were to be limited by a world agreement, scarcity would drive prices up and make evasion eminently profitable, to companies who are anyway more powerful than many nation states.

One step forward is the movement in the US for Disvestment by Companies, Universities and Local Administrations, as it becomes ever clearer that the future of the planet really is being destroyed. Spain. Plans to destroy Wetlands for more Profit

Las Tablas is a vast wetland in Castilla-La Mancha that supports migrating birds and native wildlife. In 2009-10 a government plan to divert water from the Tajo-Segura aqueduct was approved to tackle subterranean peat fires threatening the park, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. The Plan condemns the wetlands, which were recovering after recent heavy rains, to a new crisis

The Plan of the Guadiana is the worst possible choice, condemning the famous Daimiel National Park marshes and increasing the silting up of the Tagus..

With the fierce cuts causing mass unemployment without compensation, 100’s of 1000’s of families evicted for unpayable mortgages, bailing bank robbers to the tune of multi billions, bringing back Religion in school, increasing the military and police budgets while schools and hospitals, clinics and nurseries are closing everywhere….
