Benefits of Green NH3  (ammonia) over other fuels

  • costs less and zero emissions
  • helps reverse global warming
  • no need to transport fuel (used where it is made)
  • less truck pollution, traffic congestion and fuel tanker accidents.
  • less need for oil wars ( oil is now not worth the fight )
  • less chance of “oil” terrorism ( harder to attack a million wide spread green fuel machines than one or two oil refineries.)   ETC

NH3 as a fuel

There are three ways to use ammonia as a fuel.

  • Ammonia can be burned in a spark ignited piston engine, behaving quite a bit like an ordinary gasoline engine, except it will perform at compressions of as high as 25 to 1, which is even better than diesel’s 17 to 1 limit.
  • Ammonia will burn in a turbine, which would be used for long term electricity generation, say in a “peaker” style generation facility intended to replace a natural gas generator. This would be a machine in the multimegawatt range.
  • The third method of producing electricity from ammonia is to use it in a fuel cell. This has always been possible but development has favored hydrogen fuel cells rather than direct ammonia fuel cells thus far.

Converting to NH3

Converting a Vehicle to run on Ammonia (NH3)

How does an ammonia dual fueled vehicle work?

The simplest implementation of the dual fueled ammonia vehicle conversion is physically similar to a compressed natural gas vehicle conversion. A new on-board tank holds liquid ammonia at only about 150 PSI. Regulators, valves and an electronic control system meter the flow of ammonia to the engine as needed after the engine is started and warmed up on gasoline, ethanol etc. A small amount of gasoline is used to idle the engine, then as the load is increased the additional energy is provided by adding ammonia. This is all handled automatically by the engine control electronic module.

Can I buy a conversion kit for my private car today?

No. Not at this time. Conversion work is currently concentrated with fleet vehicles and other large market applications. Although, with increasing gasoline prices, conversions for private vehicles are coming.

COME ON YOU GEEKS WHERES THE DIY KIT !!

Agenda 21: Sustainabilty or buckets of Greenwash??

Here in Spain local right wing council’s are competing to declare support for Agenda 21, Sustainability, Environmental awareness, etc. All good citizens are urged to take part, and the response is good.   Because everyone knows by now that  we’re destroying the life supporting mechanisms of the planet.

Okay it’s super necessary that we all take part, but without touching the rampant consumption that is the base of capitalism, we are all pissing against a gale force wind.

Suddenly AGENDA 21 is all the fashion, nobody mentions that it was first agreed in 1992 at the Rio Summit, and has taken almost 20 years to get off the drawing board. Meanwhile every field of environment, climate and biodiversity crises have been taking giant steps backwards.

It seems like Agenda 21 may  be used by corrupt business and politicos as one more LOAD OF GREENWASH and even an excuse to CUT SERVICES in the name of sustainability. No reason not to support the idea, I support it, while exposing the hypocritical cant of those profiting from destroying our planet.

” The world’s leading ozone destroyer takes credit for leadership in ozone protection. A mammoth greenhouse gas emitter professes the precautionary approach to global warming. A major agrichemical manufacturer trades in a pesticide so hazardous it has been banned in many countries, while implying it is helping feed the hungry. A petrochemical firm uses the waste from one polluting process as raw material for another hazardous process, and boasts of an important recycling initiative. Another giant multinational cuts timber from virgin rainforest, replaces it with monoculture plantations and calls the project “sustainable forest development.”

”Welcome to the world of GREENWASH, where transnational corporations (TNCs) are preserving and expanding their markets by posing as friends of the environment and enemies of poverty. Greenwash takes many forms: from the pious concern for the environment expressed in expensive advertising campaigns, to the “continuous improvement” ballyhooed in voluntary codes of conduct; from the creation of benign-sounding corporate front groups, to the participation of TNCs in environmental conferences and events. All these efforts share the goal of avoiding national and international sanctions on dirty TNC operations, which are at the root of many global environmental crises.”

sabotage against pig and turkey farms

Unclaimed wave of sabotage against pig and turkey farms — IA
Police have reported a rash of sabotage actions against pig and turkey farms across northeastern Iowa. Damage is described as “considerable”. Neither the Animal Liberation Front nor other clandestine animal liberation group has yet claimed responsibility.
The actions are described as occurring at “multiple” farms in three counties. Three pig factory farms were vandalized in Chickasaw and Fayette Counties. One turkey factory farm in Bremer County was also targeted. One of the sabotaged farms was 5 miles northwest of New Hampton, site of the largest Animal Liberation Front mink liberation in U.S. history.
The sabotage included damaged office equipment and broken windows. Police have not ruled out the actions could be merely apolitical vandalism. However if there was no danger of animal’s being harmed in the action, factory farms would be a likely A.L.F. target and these attacks would fit the model of an Animal Liberation Front action.
Police are advising farms to be vigilant in monitoring their farms, and call police if they notice suspicious vehicles.

Amazonia: Dinho, Claudio and Maria murdered!.Forest criminals to be amnestied!

SLAUGHTERING THE AMAZON.. With the new Forest Law and amnesty for Forest crimes the ranchers and loggers are taking their opportunity by terrorist murders. Their business is the destruction of the Amazon, now with more impunity, to satisfy the demands of criminal capitalist transnationals like Burger King and MacDonalds.
Adelino  Ramos was killed for openly confronting the beef and timber mafia. Shot to death by cowardly bastards at his street stall while selling his forest produce.

He was a famous ex leader of the  Movimiento Campesino Corumbiara and had survived a fascist massacre a decade ago. Un motociclista lo mató a tiros en Rondonia, norte del país.

Just 3 days before they got José Claudio Ribeiro da Silva and his wife, Maria do Espírito Santo da Silva, shooting her first and cutting off her ears. Claudio and Maria were outspoken forest defenders and cultivated Amazon produce.

At the time of murder Adelino, or ‘Dinho’,  was busy setting up a camp for people displaced by the wholesale massacre of the forest. He had been repeatedly threatened and recently denounced the escalating forest destruction in Acre, Amazonas y Rondonia states.

In just a few days we have the news of a seven fold increase in deforestation, the disgraceful passing of the new Forest Law (see other posts) by fascist landlords allied with greedy corrupt politicians, companies, and media, the go ahead and 1st contracts for the Belo Monte dam, and the signing of deals to let BP, of all companies, exploit the ultra deep oil bonanza near Rio.

International resistance has failed miserably despite the best efforts of Avaaz and Greenpeace. Resistance needs to be informed and intelligent, or it plays into the hands of nationalists who argue that ‘rich parasitic 1st Worlders have no right to lecture us after decimating their own forests, etc’.

Bee Gardens: Flowers..Fruits for a Bee-Friendly Habitat

An estimated 70 percent of the food we eat is dependent upon pollination by insects such as bees. You can help support these vital, fascinating creatures by learning how to raise them yourself! Whether you want to keep bees for pleasure or profit, in the city or in a rural area, “Keeping Bees and Making Honey” can guide you every step of the way, from where to place your hive all the way up to how to best savor your first spot of “homegrown” honey.
COKeeping Bees And Making Honey
You may want to give your bees a helping hand when it comes to collecting pollen and nectar by planting bee-friendly flowers and shrubs in your garden or outside space. Even in a larger garden, you’ll unlikely have enough flowers to produce sufficient nectar to sustain a hive, so your bees will probably go farther afield — up to 3 miles — to find richer and denser sources of food. But the right flowers, fruit and vegetables in your garden will attract some of your own bees, as well as welcoming other visitors such as the bumblebee and solitary bee species. Above all, a garden or patch devoted to plants that are attractive to bees can be a source of great pleasure to any beekeeper, as much for the riot of color as for the activity of the bees.

take the streets. Invitation From Spain.

”there’s a mini revolution going on in the square!  they’ve been there ten days or more, I  helped plant tomatoes, had a free haircut, free food.. it’s all money free, and slept with 700 people Tuesday under the stars…….

May 25, 2011 at 4:16am With this mail we want to animate others to organize more sit-ins outside of Barcelona, around the world, which will be organized by you. We propose not to target on the Spanish embassies in your countries, also because the Spanish press practically does not cover those actions.

Our proposal is that you join in with your local struggle, to occupy the central places of your city while following the model of organization used during the Arab revolutions (and Spaniards), which means connecting with groups and local organizations and organize a sit-in in the main squares, to work in commissions and to write up your own documents (manifest, calls, proposals, minutes of meetings, etc). To make it public, spread it, use the internet networks to expand your message and to self-manage.

What is happening in different Spanish cities is not accidental nor specific of our society, we fight to recover our dignity, our freedom and our social rights, for direct democracy where we can participate in the course of our lives. We are a spontaneous and independent network, we don’t need leaders thus we offer that you will organize independently, according to what is possible and relevant in your area. We would like that everywhere people will take the streets, but in each place people will think themselves on the local alternatives to the capitalist and cruel world to which our governments are ‘leading’ us and the whole planet.

For us the borders do not exist, the network is ours and the street also! Another world is possible now! More concretely, we propose to you that you squat in your city during the next days of THURSDAY AND FRIDAY 26 AND 27 OF MAY to take advantage of the international days of mobilization against the G8 against the world-wide oligarchy, we invite you to take the street and to establish si-ins in sufficiently big places which will receive a consequent infrastructure that allow you to work and to mobilize in the best conditions.

These two days and their nights could be the beginning of a long global struggle of the Indignados, please add your sit-in to the world-wide map of: http://www.thetechnoant.info/campmap/ We use the social networks to coordinate and to maintain informed. We encourage you to create an international commission to communicate with us, to share materials and strategies of organization in the Web n-1.cc to look for the group https://n-1.cc/pg/groups/104127/take-the-square-international and open a space with your location.

In that link you will find a guide. In the chat (http://ur1.ca/48ogs) you can contact with us and others sit-ins simultaneously or to contact us by e-mail comisiointernacional@gmail.com. Our content commissions is working on a document which formulate the very elaborated agreements which are agreed on in the general assembly.
