The shock of a Donald Trump victory in the US presidential elections may finally jolt Americans into rethinking their country’s political structures. And the post-election riots, along with plans for a general strike, may well be an outlet for citizens’ democratic frustrations. The US model of democracy, meanwhile, is not just flawed. It’s also an insult to the intelligence of American citizens; the idea that an occasional choice between two corporate-funded parties is democracy. While Trump may have convinced some voters that he was an anti-establishment candidate, he very much represents the establishment. A slightly different one from the one that Hillary Clinton represents. But still an establishment.

Kobane  The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) lmilitary operation against the Islamic State (ISIS) is advancing quickly towards Raqqa city. Several SDF militias are participating in the campaign, among them the Kurdish Women’s Protection Units (YPJ).

Million Mask March storms Trump Hotel

On the 5th of November, the annual Million Mask March stormed Trump Hotel on Penn Ave.

Three arrests were reported over spray painted tags left at
Trump Hotel and on FBI headquarters. Police websites and some other news outlets reported that couched were thrown at glass doors inside, but video footage clearly shows that heavy couches were only pulled against glass doors to barricade them against security. ALL finally INNOCENT: 52 Indigenous accused of Bagua Massacre, Peru

52 protestors have been acquitted of charges relating to the Bagua Massacre, one of the bloodiest episodes in recent Peruvian history.

The protestors, many of whom were indigenous, were accused of killing 12 policemen in June 2009.
