For more than 25 years, abortion opponents unable to overturn Roe v. Wade have been building ever-higher barriers to a woman’s right to an abortion. On Thursday, in the most far-reaching abortion ruling in a generation, the Supreme Court in essence told them, “Stop, you’ve gone too far.”
In its 5-3 decision, the bitterly divided court struck down parts of a Texas law that had already closed half of the state’s abortion clinics, and if allowed to go forward, would have left the nation’s second largest state with less than 10 clinics to serve 5.4 million women of reproductive age. By contrast, California, the nation’s most populous state, had 160 abortion clinicsat last count.

Llevo 232 días en prisión preventiva, en régimen FIES y aislamiento. En estos siete meses he estado en cuatro centros penitenciarios, tres en Madrid y ahora en Sevilla, a más de quinientos kilómetros de mi familia, amigxs, compañerxs y de mi abogado.
En varias ocasiones se ha desestimado mi puesta en libertad bajo fianza, aludiendo a razones como riesgo de fuga o falta de empleo. En estos momentos la única explicación que encuentro para que no se me conceda la libertad provisional, se me traslade y aleje constantemente y se aplique con desidia y de forma discontinua el derecho reconocido judicialmente a la dieta vegana es el racismo debido a mi origen peruano.
Agotada la vía institucional para ejercer mis derechos, he decidido iniciar una huelga de hambre indefinida.

According to a new report, the Japanese government worked in concert with TEPCO to purposely cover up the meltdown at Fukushima in 2011.
“I would say it was a coverup,” Tokyo Electric Power Company President Naomi Hirose announced during a press conference. “It’s extremely regrettable.”
Masataka Shimizu, president of TEPCO at the time of the earthquake, tsunami, and subsequent nuclear disaster, told employees not to go public with the term “meltdown” — allegedly in capitulation to pressure from the Prime Minister’s Office.
For two months, TEPCO officials euphemized the meltdown in public statements as “core damage,” even as they had full knowledge of the true extent of the catastrophe. Though a few company officials initially used the term “meltdown,” it abruptly vanished from public discussions just three days after the disaster struck.

THE IRISH coast guard has today issued a nationwide warning for the East Coast as hundreds of thousands of British refugees risk their lives to cross the Irish sea in an attempt to flee the impoverished and unstable nation.
Dinghies overflowing with desperate migrants are so far half way through their journey, many with women and children aboard, wishing to make a new start on the Emerald Isle.
“We have rescued hundreds of people from crafts due to overcrowding,” winchman Derek Ryan of Rescue 117 told WWN today. “It’s a terrible situation as many of these people are only hoping for a better quality of life in the EU”.

Taoiseach Enda Kenny has called an emergency meeting in the Dáil this afternoon to help find a solution to the influx of British refugees.
It is expected many of those landing on the Irish coast will have to be quarantined, as they are not a part of the European Union.
Under present rules refugees need to be residents of Northern Ireland or be betrothed in matrimony to an Irish person in order to be granted Irish EU citizenship.
“Emergency prefabs will be erected to help cope and house these poor unfortunate people,” Mr. Kenny stated. “I urge everyone to do what they can to help support the migrants in any way, whether that be waiting with hots cups of tea on the shoreline, to giving them fresh clothes to wear”.
