Zika: update from Brazil: towering non-evidence

zika is harmlessIt seems the number of cases of microcephaly in Brazil has increased, but only to 404 cases compared to the 25,000 cases in the US where there is no Zika virus.see here,in portuguese. 

The increase in Brazil  could be for many other health reasons, even due to under-reporting of cases. There is hardly any evidence of microcephaly victims who also have zika.

 In Sao Paulo State, for example a big increase in microcephaly has been reported (compared to those reported in the past, 126 instead of 40), but nearly all in areas where Zika has not even been detected, never mind proved to have any relation.see here, in portuguese.

Also because Zika is a mild and difficult to detect virus it may well have existed in Brazil for decades and was only noticed in 2014.

Turkish state forces are implementing an all-out media blackout across the town of Cizre in the wake of yesterday’s offensive by Turkish forces on two buildings where wounded people had taken shelter and were trapped as a result of artillery attacks over a sixteen day siege. At least 60 Kurds – men, women and childrem – are  known to have lost their lives. Most of those inside the building had been sheltering in the basement. The Turkish Government claimed all the occupants were members of the proscribed PKK. A local political leader has stated that the attack had all the hallmarks of a military-Ergenekon (‘deep state’) alliance, as part of the Government offensive against the Kurds. So far, mainstream media in the West has ignored the massacre.

We made music with joy, dressed up and paraded, accompanied by a Rebellious Pussy through the streets of Seville on May 1st, 2014, as a metaphor of what we DON’T want to be: submissive trapped women .

Last Thursday, three of these demonstrators were cited as defendants to testify after a complaint lodged by the Spanish Association of Christian Lawyers  who see the procession carrying the Rebel Pussy as a crime against their religious beliefs and a crime of incitement to discrimination, hatred and violence for reasons related to religion or belief, with a prison sentence of between one and four years and a fine . ŞIRNEX – As Turkish state forces maintain a siege on the town of Cizre, state forces have introduced an unknown chemical agent into the sewers. Meanwhile, there has been no contact with a building where nine residents burned to death since yesterday evening.

For 55 days, Turkish state forces have maintained a total siege on the town of Cizre.

BCN, 03/02/2016.- En una setmana on Barcelona s´ha manifestat en solidaritat amb el poble kurd a les portes del consolat de turquia i també hi ha hagut el judici popular al Cie, on s´ha exigit, un cop més, el tancament definitiu d´aquest centre d´extermini d´immigrants.

2. No més parkings Les PlanesI a Les Planes, un grup de veis i vienes s´están movilizant per aturar l inauguració d´un nou parking. A canvi, volen un parc i ho reinvindiquen precisament així, fent un parc a damunt del parking.

3. Festival de Curts de Can BatllóEl 30 de gener es realitzà la segona edició de curts de teror a Can Batlló, convertint l´espai en un veritable punt de socialització de la penyeta, I si no us ho creieu, pues mire-ho.

4. 2a Trobada Rara TroupeEl mateix cap de setmana va tenir lloc al Convent Sant Agustí una trobada amb diferents col.lectius que treballen l´audiovisual amb persones diagnosticades amb emalalties mentals. La trobada Rara Troupe va comptar , entre d´altres amb el col.lectiu radio Noikosia i la rara Web de Lleó.cabra

Russia’s Defense Ministry suspects Turkey of preparations for intrusion into Syria

(TASS Agency) ~ The developments on the Turkish-Syrian border suggest Turkey’s intensive preparations for military invasion into Syria, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said on Thursday.

“We have serious grounds to suspect Turkey of intensive preparations for military intrusion into the territory of the sovereign state — the Syrian Arab Republic. We are registering an increasing number of signs of the Turkish armed forces’ hidden preparations for active operations on the territory of Syria,” the Russian Defense Ministry spokesman told journalists.

Russia’s Defense Ministry earlier provided convincing video evidence to the world public that Turkish self-propelled artillery systems were shelling Syrian populated areas in north Latakia.
