“London 2016: the terrain of struggle in our city” – Aylesbury Estate and some seeds of resistance
– January 1st, 2016
By Some London Foxes. This is a small contribution towards mapping the terrain of social conflict in London today.
First, it identifies some big themes in how London is being reshaped, looking at: London’s key role as a “global hub” for international finance capital; how this feeds into patterns of power and development in the city; and the effect on the ground in terms of two kinds of “social cleansing” – cleaning out undesirable people, and sanitising the social environment that remains.
Second, it surveys recent resistance and rebellion to this pattern of control including the short-lived “grassroots housing movement” of last winter, the confrontational Aylesbury Estateoccupation, anti-raids mini-riots, and some riotous street parties.
by Tyler Durden….. If ever there was a clearer indication of America’s “need for war” it was the latest Durable Goods orders data, which confirmed, absent defense spending, the US economy is in a tail-spin. However, as NYTimes reports, foreign arms sales by the United States jumped by almost $10 billion in 2014, about 35 percent, even as the global weapons market remained flat and competition among suppliers increased, thanks to multibillion-dollar agreements with Qatar, Saudi Arabia and South Korea.
Defense Spending New Orders has soared 148% in the last 3 months… the biggest rise since 2007
But it is the US arms sales to foreigners that is really flourishing.Despite a stagnant international weapons market and increased competition among suppliers, American foreign weapons receipts rose from $26.7 billion to $36.2 billion last year. According to a new congressional report, as The NY Times reports…
The United States remained the single largest provider of arms around the world last year, controlling just over 50 percent of the market.
Russia followed the United States as the top weapons supplier, completing $10.2 billion in sales, compared with $10.3 billion in 2013. Sweden was third, with roughly $5.5 billion in sales, followed by France with $4.4 billion and China with $2.2 billion.Continue reading “US arms criminals save Capitalism: Arms Sales Soar 35%”

2,000 public figures are currently named as suspects in corruption investigations, including the treasurer of the ruling PP, (who directly implicated the whole party and prime minister Rajoy), the king’s sister, Princess Cristina (tax fraud), and former economy minister and IMF managing director Rodrigo Rato (tax fraud, money-laundering and receiving bribes).
Nobody is resigning and hardly any are jailed, even for one night. In fact the ruling PP mafia are leading the polls, with a mix of bribes, threats and luck. Nobody dares says one word against the corrupt monarchy, rushing through a law to give the ex King perpetual immunity.
Nobody cares that we have 21% unemployment and 3.5 million unemployed receiving zero help or benefits, The tame subsidised media rants instead that unemployment has decreased slightlty, due entirely to ‘Kleenek contracts’ ofen of just a few hours duration).
Nobody mentions the astronomical debts incurred by gifting billions in public money to save the predatory corrupt banks, that will take centuries to pay off.
Aznar and Rajoy collage.
Nobody can complain, because in just 2 days a clause was written into the Costitution.. that debt repayment must ALWAYS come first, before schools, pensions hospitals, etc)..making Spain forever a nothing but a Cash-Cow for international finance funds. And Nobody cares that nearly 250,000 have been evicted from their homes to prop up the banks.
Nobody seems to care that race hatred and economic sabotage is being whipped up daily, ever worse, against the Catalan and Basque minorities, with the sole aim of conserving far right power and privileges. That billions are gifted to the medieval minded Catholic Church. that laws to acknowledge the huge massacre of innocents under Franco are abolished, along with laws to protect whats left of the coast and National Parks, that new laws now gag all dissent and police raid and jail anarchists and social activists without eveidence……etc
Still there is hope.. we have a NEW PARTY.. Podemos.. who have taken up the ideals of transparency, anti hierarchy, autonomy and feminism and SHAT ALL OVER THEM, selling out in every way possible to gain some power, and mocking with the slogan of the 15M Take the Streets rebellion..that ”no politician can represent us”. Embracing militarism, monarchy and money.
Still there is hope..we have a NEW PARTY.. Ciudadanos (Citizens), the new darling of the State and commercial media, spouting revolutionary rhetoric while planning to rob us with policies to the right of Sarah Palin or Margaret Thatcher.
there is NO USEFUL OR STRATEGIC VOTE
Join the anarchist electoral resistance..Vote for NOBODY.. because nobodycan or will change this decadent society and predatory capitalism using the current electoral system.
Two Palestinians have been killed and four wounded during an overnight Israeli army raid on the Qalandiya refugee camp in the central occupied West Bank. Ahmed Jahajha, 21, and Hikmet Hamdan, 29, were both shot dead by Israeli forces before dawn on Wednesday morning. While inside the camp, Israeli troops raided a local medical centre and clashed with youth, according to locals.
Today it was reported that Rojavan Kurds (of northern Syria) are heading north to cross the Turkish border to offer help to their beleagured cousins in North Kurdistan, which has been under constant attack by the Turkish military for some weeks. Unfortunately, this means that the frontline forces fighting ISIS in Syria will be temporarily weakened as a consequence of Turkey’s warmongering (though perhaps that’s the intention of Turkey, a NATO member, in order that its precious oil supplies from ISIS are not further disrupted). In the meantime we report from the frontline: interviews with YPJ combatants in Arif (Rojava).
Combatants from the 2nd Mobile Unit of the Women’s Defence Units (YPJ) who are undertaking some of the most significant defence acts in their area of operation by demonstrating their intent to protect the civilian population of the village Bene, Sherawa District, Afrin Canton, Rojava, Syria, were asked for their…
