Rio de Janeiro: Día de solidaridad y lucha para los 23 victimas del Estado: 14 de agosto

A.N.A. * 14 de Agosto, dia internacional de apoyo a los 23 activistas condenados en Rio de Janeiro, en defensa del dercho de manifestación, por todas y todos quienes luchan.

Convocamos a todos los movimientos sociales, organizaciones populares y revolucionarias, sindicatos, movimientos estudantiles, grupos de defensa de los derechos humanos, intelectuales progresistas y demás sectores de la sociedad civil a organizar acciones simultaneas en ese gran dia de solidaridad y lucha, contra la criminalización de los movimientos sociales y en defensa del derecho de manifestación

Sugerencias de acción:

– Manifestaciones de calle ante embajadas o consulados brasileños en los respectivos países (si es posíble con entrega de documento repudiando la persecución política a los 23).

– Difusión de afiches y volantes de apoyo a los 23.

– Exhibición de pancartes en lugares de estudio, trabajo o vivienda en apoyo a los 23.

– Difundir imagenes y textos en las redes sociales en apoyo a los 23 y por todas y todos los que luchan.

Sugerimos que cada país o ciudad incorpore, junto con la pauta de los 23, lo que deba decirse respecto a la criminalización de quienes luchan en sus localidades. Hay ejemplos de encarcelamientos y persecuciones políticas en todas partes del mundo, siendo un caso reciente la joven palestina Ahed Tamimi que durante seis meses dió testimonio de bravura y firmeza al no doblegarse frente a la prisión.

David Graeber: “En Rojava saben que no te puedes librar del capitalismo si no te libras antes del patriarcado”

La mutación del capitalismo, la uberización del empleo, el poder del feminismo, la lacra moral de la deuda o el origen de la desigualdad son algunos de los temas que trata en esta entrevista el antropólogo estadounidense David Graeber, que visita Madrid para participar en un evento en apoyo al pueblo Kurdo y la revolución de Rojava.

Como un proscrito ideológico, este antropólogo y activista da clases en la London School of Economics, tras ser expulsado de Yale y ser rechazado de todas las universidades de su país, Estados Unidos, por declararse anarquista. Fue uno de los líderes del movimiento Occupy Wall Street, aunque él odia definirse así.

Su libro En deuda: una historia alternativa de la economía (Ariel, 2012), marcó un antes y un después en los estudios antropológicos y ha hecho temblar la concepción y todo lo dicho anteriormente sobre el dinero, la deuda y la evolución de las relaciones humanas en un plano económico y moral.

Anarchists want to Kick ‘Unite the Right’ nazi killers out of DC!

Washington, DC – More than 1,000 anti-fascist and anti-racist protesters are expected to descend on the US capital on Sunday to counter a far-right rally, one year after the first “Unite the Right” in Charlottesville, Virginia turned deadly.

Several counterprotests are scheduled to take place near the “Unite the Right 2” event in Washington, DC’s Lafayette Park, located just outside the White House. The far-right protest is being organised by Jason Kessler, who put together the last year’s protest in Charlottesville.

At that demonstration, white supremacists and other members of the alt-right clashed with anti-racists. It ended after a far-right protester rammed his car into a crowd of counterdemonstrators, killing 32-year-old Heather Heyer and injuring more than a dozen others. James Alex Fields Jr, the accused driver, has since been charged on several counts, including federal hate crimes. Week Of Solidarity With Anarchist Prisoners 23rd-30th August

We are coming back with global week of solidarity with anarchist prisoners. Since last year, a lot has changed in our countries, but the general tendency is going in the worse direction with more repressions applied against anarchists not only in Europe but worldwide. With this in mind, we are calling for sixth annual week of solidarity!

Last year lots of people sent us their reports from different parts of the world and we hope that this year the tradition will grow even bigger. We need to support our comrades! Use this week to spread the information about anarchists behind bars.

Don’t have prisoners in your country? No worry, support prisoners from other countries in your region or use those days to raise awareness of repression mechanisms and how anarchist communities can fight against them!

Monsanto Guilty.. $289m awarded to Dying Man in 1st of 5,000 cases. Roundup Cancer Additives much Worse

Court orders Monsanto to pay $289m in damages over herbicide cancer case

In a landmark case, a US jury found that Monsanto knew its Roundup and RangerPro weedkillers were dangerous and failed to warn consumers.

It is the first lawsuit to go to trial alleging a glyphosate link to cancer. The claimant in the case, groundskeeper DeWayne Johnson, is among more than 5,000 similar plaintiffs across the US.

But Monsanto still denies the danger despite the World Health ”probably carcinogenic” ruling and recent studies showing Hodgkin’s cancers are cause by glyphosate.

In addition the additives (adjuvants) of Roundup and RangerPro, are still mostly secret under patent, and new studies show them to be much more carcinogenic than the Glyphosate main ingredient which Monsanto limits itself to defending in Court .

U.K Military Industrial Cartel and Tory Govt Profit from Mass Murder in Yemen

Yemen is hemorrhaging. After more than three years of a brutal and genocidal war waged by a U.S/U.K-armed Saudi Coalition against 27 million Yemenis, life in Yemen has been reduced to a diseased, starving, mutilated and preyed upon nation that is still resisting some of the world’s most powerful nations in their attempts to drive Yemenis to their knees.

In May 2018, Sir Roger Carr, chairman of BAE, gave a speech to shareholders at the BAE AGM. “There is no doubt that 2017 was a successful year as reflected in our sales, profits and cash flow, which, I am pleased to say, has supported an increase in your dividend for the year to 21.8pence per share.”

Shareholders in arms production benefit from bloodshed globally. The deaths of Yemeni children pay “healthy” dividends. In 2015 the UK exported £ 2.94 billion in arms to Saudi Arabia over a period of 9 months. The illegal aggression against Yemen began in March 2015. BAE jumped at the opportunity to reap a harvest from the murder of Yemeni civilians. According to Amnesty International:

“They (UK) recently diverted a batch of 500-pound ‘Paveway IV’ bombs to Saudi Arabia. These bombs are used by Tornado and Typhoon fighter jets, both of which are manufactured and supplied to Saudi Arabia by the UK arms company BAE Systems.”

In May 2018 Carr said “our customers are our lifeblood” while those customers shed blood globally. Saudi Arabia is crucial to BAE’s success in the arms industry and is its third largest market sector after the U.S and U.K.

After years of persecution 23 victims of police repression in Rio de Janeiro have finally come to trial and been sentenced to long prison terms between 5 and 13 years. Thousands took part in the protests, the 23 are just victims snatched by the police. The only positive thing is that they are freed on bail pending appeals. They will need another strong and lasting solidarity campaign

23 people were sentenced in Río de Janeiro in ‘Operation Firewall’ for violence, criminal organization, damage, resistance, bodily harm and possession of explosive devices; sentences range from 5 to 13 years in prison and were issued by judge Flavio Itabaiana of the 27th Penal Tribunal in Rio de Janeiro.

They were all investigated by the Unit for the repression of cyber-crimes, which was the political police engaged in the World Cup and Olympic Games, the same that monitored protests in Porto Alegre and Sao Paulo.
