Freedom Convoy: Ottawa State of Emergency > Police ATTACK! + New Zealand’s Convoy Begins

Ottawa mayor seeks federal assistance, insisting totally peaceful massive anti-Covid-mandate protests are out of control.

note: no new twitter videos or news today as they have BANNED us for 6 days for sharing a post on the vaccines by Dr Malone.

Ottawa mayor Jim Watson has declared a state of emergency, citing “serious danger and threat to the safety and security of residents,” as Freedom Convoy truckers and their pedestrian supporters continue to occupy the capital.

The move comes after Watson lamented earlier on Sunday that police have been outnumbered by the demonstrators, and indicated he wants the federal government to help quash the protest.

While Ontario has refused to budge regarding its Covid-19 restrictions, the provinces of Quebec and Saskatchewan have already rolled back some of their stricter measures, while Alberta announced that a vote to lift the mandates will be held this week.

“The situation at this point is completely out of control because the individuals with the protest are calling the shots,” Watson told Newstalk radio. “They have far more people than we have police officers and I’ve indicated to the chief that we have to be much more nimble and proactive when it comes to these activities.”

Organizers have indicated they plan to stay in Ottawa for the “long haul,” seeking donations from supporters to cover the costs of fuel, food, and lodging.

After fundraising platform GoFundMe froze $7 million in donations, they regrouped on Christian competitor GiveSendGo, overloading the platform’s servers as supporters rushed to pledge their money once more.

Declaring a state of emergency reflects the serious danger and threat to the safety and security of residents posed by the ongoing demonstrations and highlights the need for support from other jurisdictions and levels of government

But the real reason for the State Of Emergency is to get authorization to call in the Military to attack the peaceful demonstrators

Before announcing the emergency, Watson pleaded with the federal government to “sit down and have some kind of a discussion, some kind of mediation to get this situation resolved because it’s now spreading across the country.”

Attempts to divert trucks to the Ottawa Baseball Stadium to keep them out of downtown appear to have backfired, with the stadium turning into a “staging area” for the demonstrators with saunas and reportedly even bouncy castles for protesters’ children along with a refueling station and other supplies.

Watson’s statements echoed an admission by Police Chief Peter Sloly on Saturday. “We do not have sufficient resources to adequately and effectively address this situation while adequately and effectively providing policing in this city,” the top cop said during a meeting with the Ottawa Police Services Board. Referring to the demonstration as a “siege,” he insisted it was “something that is different in our democracy than something I’ve ever experienced in my life.”

While Sloly has repeatedly claimed “all options are on the table,” PM Justin Trudeau last week ruled out deploying the military, acknowledging that such a response should be a matter of last resort. The protesters have promised to hold the line until the government repeals its vaccination mandates and QR code “health passports.”

The protesters have largely refrained from violence and property damage, though that hasn’t stopped Sloly and other opponents of the convoy from invoking the supposed “insurrection” Capitol riot of January 6. Authorities have placed heavy barricades at key crossing points throughout downtown and closed roads in an effort to keep out the endless parade of trucks.

Some 5,000 people and 1,000 vehicles descended on downtown Ottawa on Saturday, joining the multitudes already present on the 10th day of the ongoing demonstration. A smaller counter-protest took place at City Hall.

Police boasted that 450 tickets had been issued in the “red zone” around Parliament Hill since Saturday morning, though most were for minor infractions such as obstructed license plates, seatbelt violations, fireworks or cell phone usage. The Ottawa Police Service is also investigating alleged threats to public officials and a whopping 200 calls to its hate crime hotline, though they didn’t reveal the target of the “hate.”

New Zealand’s Truck Convoy Hits New Plymouth

Posted on

Our year-old vaccine choice movement finally made the mainstream news tonight when TV1 reported on the reception our national truck convoy received in our local area. We had a little over 400 supporters to greet them in New Plymouth (pop 87,300), with about 150 more spread over some of the smaller towns.

Truckies were divided into North and South Island convoys, with the North Island convoy further divided into East and West Coast branches.

The Bonanza lagoons will finally be legally protected!

Ecologists in Action asks the competent administrations, Provincial Delegation and City Hall, to start working on awareness campaigns directed towards neighbors, groups and other sectors.

The Junta de Andalucía, in response to a formal request from Ecologistas en Acción, has started the process that will lead to the Bonanza lagoons being legally declared Protected Andalusian Wetlands in less than 3 months.

There are many threats that hang over the lagoons. All of them suffer from garbage discharges such as agricultural residues, occupation of their margins, overexploitation of the aquifer and contamination by fertilizers.

Not only do we have to conserve the lagoons. Economic activities such as agriculture, urban planning, services, have to be respectful of nature and use natural resources: soil and water in a sustainable way.

The area is within the urban matrix and the impacts described will tend to intensify over time.

In addition, the combination of Climate Change and the extraction of groundwater in the environment can dry up the lagoons, as is happening throughout the Doñana Natural Area.

An urgent problem is to stop the destruction of the banks by landfilling and illegal occupation, by some of the owners of the adjoining farms.

Ecologistas en Acción expresses its deep satisfaction with the approval of the Wetlands Committee to include the Bonanza lagoons in the Inventory of Wetlands of Andalusia. They also thank the Territorial Delegate for Sustainable Development of Cádiz, Daniel Sánchez, for recognizing Ecologistas en Acción for having reasonably requested such inclusion, about two years ago.

The request is based on the fact that the 4 lagoons are the habitat of 5 birds included in the Catalog of threatened species with the highest category: species in danger of extinction: White-headed Duck, Moorish Coot, Marbled Teal, Porrón Pardo and Squacco Egret; plus another 5 legally protected species.

The emblem of the Bonanza lagoons is the malvasia ( Oxyura

leucocephala, White-headed Duck) , a resident species of diving duck with a population of several dozen specimens (75 pairs were recorded in a census in 2011).The male has a white head with black crown, a blue bill, and reddish-grey plumage. The female has a dark bill and rather duller colouring. Its breeding habitat is lakes with open water and dense vegetation at the margin.

The presence of these species obliges the administration to legally protect the lagoons. However, the lagoons do not have any environmental protection. The recognition of this fact, finally after many years of unjust lack of protection, has concluded today in the commitment to protect them.

Therefore, the procedures for inclusion in the Andalusian Wetland Inventory are now beginning, which should last a maximum of 3 months and will include

The exact delimitation of the wetland;
the description of its natural values;
a diagnosis of its state of conservation and its threats;
and the establishment of what should be the measures for its effective protection.

With the end of the process, the lagoons will already be protected natural spaces with the legal name of “Andalusian Wetland”. Given this, the Ministry of Sustainable Development acquires the obligation to make the necessary public investments for the conservation and rational use of the natural resources of these lagoons.

Currently, these lagoons are land classified in the PGOU as non-developable land: Free Suburban Spaces, destined for urban parks, except for the case of the lagoon located in the Veta de la Serrana, which is classified as Developable Land destined for tertiary facilities (hotels) , which makes no sense in a non-developable environment.

The urban park planned in the PGOU of 1997! never got done. We hope that the Sanlúcar City Council will change the catrgory of the Veta lagoon to non-developable and said land will be expropriated, allowing the conservation of this lagoon, which is the most degraded.

In the same way, there are many threats that hang over the lagoons. All of them suffer from garbage discharges such as agricultural residues, occupation of their margins, overexploitation of the aquifer and contamination by fertilizers.

Not only do we have to conserve the lagoons. Economic activities such as agriculture, urban planning, services, have to be respectful of nature and use natural resources: soil and water in a sustainable way.

To conclude, from Ecologistas en Acción we ask the competent administrations, the Provincial Delegation and the City Council, to start working on awareness campaigns directed towards neighbors, groups and other sectors, which are in the area of influence, to give the value that corresponds to these wetlands.

  • La delimitación exacta del humedal;
  • la descripción de sus valores naturales;
  • un diagnóstico sobre su estado de conservación y sus amenazas;

Crows trained for street-cleaning operations

A start-up in Sweden has begun recruiting crows as part of a pilot project to clean up the streets and squares of Södertälje, a city near the Swedish capital, Stockholm. The birds are being incentivized by food offerings, dispensed from a bespoke machine designed by rookie outfit Corvid Cleaning.

“They are wild birds taking part on a voluntary basis,” said Christian Günther-Hanssen, founder of Corvid Cleaning. He stated that his methods could save the city at least 75% of the cost involved in cleaning the streets of cigarette butts.

Research suggests that the New Caledonian crow, the bird being recruited for the street cleaning, is as developed at reasoning as a seven-year-old human.

“They are easier to teach and there is also a higher chance of them learning from each other. At the same time, there’s a lower risk of them mistakenly eating any rubbish,” Günther-Hanssen said.

He claimed that the cost per cigarette butt picked up is 80 öre [Swedish change] or more, and that, if effective, the birds could greatly reduce this cost.

According to the Keep Sweden Tidy Foundation, some one billion cigarette butts are dropped on Sweden’s streets each year. It represents 62% of all litter and Södertälje itself spends 20 million Swedish kronor ($2.16 million) on street-cleaning each year.

If the pilot project goes to plan, the machines could be rolled out across the city.

Mozilla partners with The Markup to launch Rally study into Facebook’s tracking and data collection practices

Browser maker Mozilla today announced a partnership with The Markup, the non-profit newsroom that investigates how technology is reshaping society, on a research project to provide insights into and data about a space that’s opaque to policymakers, researchers and users themselves. By joining Mozilla and The Markup’s “Facebook Pixel Hunt” in Firefox, people can help Rally and The Markup unravel how Facebook’s tracking infrastructure massively collects data about people online – data that is used to target ads, tailor content recommendations and spread misinformation – all by simply browsing the web.

The Markup is the newest partner for Rally, the privacy-first data-sharing platform that was created by Mozilla in 2021 to take back control from platforms that are not transparent about how they use people’s data and make it very difficult for independent outside research to take place.

rt of a collective effort to solve societal problems that start online and that we have not been able to investigate this way before.

Using tools provided by Rally, the two organizations will research how Facebook tracks people across the web through its Facebook pixel-powered ad network and shine a light on what Facebook knows about their online life.

By opting into “The Facebook Pixel Hunt” study, Rally gives Firefox users the power to help answer questions like: What kind of data does the Facebook pixel collect? Which sites share this data? What can this data reveal about people? What other ways does Facebook track people? How widespread is Facebook’s tracking network?
