Sextremist FEMEN deported from Istanbul

After spent a night in a police station in Istanbul, sextremist the participant of the protest “Erdogan from Istanbul to Kabul” was deported from Turkey by plane to Paris. Together with forced deportation there is a ban for entrance into Turkey for the activist for one year. This is already fifth ban to entry Turkey for FEMEN Activists.

FEMEN promises to Erdigan to find many ways to get around of his repressive laws and continue the fight with the Turkish people against Islamism and for secular and humanistic Turkey. Erdogan, get out to Kabul!

-‘Flocks of dunlin and starlings, wheeling as one soul’-

When the tide is high, which looks like nearly always here, flocks of wader birds arrive in circling swarms. Criminal immigrants, like me, in the waterlogged parks. Illegally colonizing the earth, between the sandbanked middle class suburb, the decrepit blocks of flats, and the ex industrial estate.

Flocks of dunlin and starlings, wheeling as one soul.

Flights of curlew with their wonky beaks.

Leaning out the gaping window, I listen long for their lonely whistles.

I’ve been waiting in this ninth floor flat for five hours.

3 Femen arrested and held in Free Amina protest + Nazis attack Femen

latest 31 May:, Tunisia — A court convicted Amina (Sboui) , for carrying an “incendiary object” and fined her $182. She remains in custody pending more serious charges.The 3 Femen supporters arrested still remain in custody and will appear before a judge today, Friday, when they may be charged.

“Lesbian” is not a dirty word

by Thé Tulloch In many ways, being a gay woman that is also a feminist feels like being the punchline to a bad joke. I am one of those hairy feminists. I am a lesbian: the sweater vest, sensible shoe, cat-loving kind; not the edgy-leather-and-studs-cool-haircut kind. You know, the one you trip over yourself to emphasise you’re not when the subject of your politics comes up, out of fear people think you’ve become a lavender menace. It’s sad that an ideology that concerns itself with the freedom of women from patriarchy is willing to engage in lesbophobia unashamedly.
