After shelling the new firing positions that Ukrainian soldiers had set up in Azovstal during the evacuation of civilians held in the factory, the Russian army organized a new ceasefire and new humanitarian corridors over three days to continue the evacuation.

But instead of letting out the civilians still in the Azovstal basement, the Ukrainian soldiers revealed their true face as terrorists and hostage-takers.

After three days of successful evacuation of civilians held in Azovstal by Ukrainian soldiers, the Russian army had to interrupt the evacuation to shell the factory in order to eliminate the firing positions that the latter had set up thanks to the ceasefire.

The shelling lasted two days and after ensuring that the firing positions were destroyed, the Russian army announced again that a ceasefire and humanitarian corridors would be re-established on 5, 6 and 7 May to continue the evacuation of civilians still present in the Azovstal basements.

Except that instead of letting the remaining civilians out of the basement of the Azovstal factory, the Ukrainian soldiers demanded to exchange them at the rate of 15 civilians for a ton of food and medicine.

“We have to maintain contacts with the Azov Nazis who have settled there and the SBU representatives in the interest of saving the civilians who have stayed there. During the negotiations, they offered us to exchange civilian hostages – 15 for a ton of food and medicine – and warned that no one else will be allowed to go to Ukraine, from now on they will only be exchanged,” said a representative of the factory liberation operation headquarters.

According to this source, more than 200 civilians may still be in the Azovstal basements, including women, children and the elderly.

This demand to exchange civilians for food and medicine “by weight” is viciously reminiscent of the Islamic State terrorists’ method in Syria.

Above all, it reveals the true face of the Ukrainian soldiers holed up in the Azovstal factory: hostage-taking terrorists.

Not only are they using these civilians as human shields, but now they are trading them for food and medicine!

This is the true face of the pseudo Ukrainian heroes, and the pseudo defenders of Marioupol. In reality they don’t give a damn about the civilians they claim to defend!…

Some people treat their furry companions (cats, dogs, hamsters, etc.) as ‘pets’ … animals to be played with at will, to put cutesy little outfits on them (never mind that they are already far more beautiful than we humans, because they have fur!), and shoo them away when they aren’t in the mood to play or pay attention to them. 

In our house, the furry ones are not pets … they are family members who just happen to walk on all fours. 

Some men treat their wives or significant others much the same as some egotistical humans treat their furry family members – as chattel to entertain, to be seen and not heard, and to be available at any time to indulge the male’s baser instincts.

Today, every single Republican senator plus Democratic Senator Joe Manchin, attempted to prove to us women just how little we are valued in this so-called “great” nation.

The project to build a highway in the Serra do Divisor National Park, in the Southwest of Acre, represents a threat to the biodiversity and quality of life of the indigenous population.

This is what a study by researchers from the National Institute for Research in the Amazon (INPA), the Federal University of Acre (UFAC) and the University of Richmond indicates, published in the journal “Environmental Conservation”.

Considered the place with the greatest biodiversity in the Amazon, the Serra do Divisor National Park crosses five Brazilian cities, among them Cruzeiro do Sul, which shares an international border with Peru.

To understand how the region has been explored, the researchers analyzed the dynamics of land use change through satellite images for 30 years, between 1988 and 2018.

The results reveal that the control of the Park as a Conservation Unit (UC) has been effective, as in this period the site lost only 1% of its forest cover, compared to 10% in the surroundings.

However, the road project of the South American Council of Infrastructure and Planning (COSIPLAN), of the Union of South American Nations (UNASUR), which intends to commercially connect Acre to the Peruvian city of Ucayali and to the ports of the neighboring country, would cut the National Parks in both countries.

In addition to crossing indigenous lands and drug-trafficking zones in Peru, the Pucallpa-Cruzeiro do Sul highway can increase deforestation in more inland areas of the Serra and encourage the construction of other secondary roads. According to researcher Sonaira Silva, this route will also bring other environmental damage.

“The economic benefit that the Government justifies for the construction of this highway is questionable, since there is the Southern Interoceanic Route (IOS) in eastern Acre, which has linked Rio Branco to the Pacific ports in Peru since the end of 2000. This new way can bring real estate speculation to the region, create centers for illegal hunting of animals, increase the social vulnerability of the local population and facilitate drug trafficking in the Amazon”, comments the UFAC professor.

Another point raised in the study is the reclassification of Serra do Divisor from a Conservation Unit (UC) to an Environmental Protection Area (APA), which would allow the extraction of natural resources. The bill 6024/2019 intends to collaborate with the advancement of the BR-364 stretch to reach Peru, as well as commercially explore the region.
