“Production of the B61-12 nuclear bomb begins,” Sandia National Laboratories announced from the United States. The B61-12, which replaces the previous B61 deployed by the U.S. at Aviano and Ghedi and other European bases, is a new type of weapon.

It has a nuclear warhead with four power options, selectable depending on the target to be destroyed.
It is not dropped vertically, but at a distance from the target on which it is directed guided by a satellite system.
It can penetrate underground, exploding deep to destroy command center bunkers in a nuclear first strike.

The B61-12s, classified as “non-strategic nuclear weapons,” are deployed in Europe — in Italy, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Britain and probably other countries — at distances far enough to strike Russia.
They thus have offensive capabilities similar to those of strategic weapons.
Another nuclear weapon system, which the United States is preparing to install in Europe against Russia, is ground-based intermediate-range missiles.

They can also be launched from “anti-missile shield” installations, deployed by the U.S. at bases in Deveselu in Romania and Redzikowo in Poland, and aboard five warships cruising in the Mediterranean, Black Sea and Baltic Sea close to Russia.
That such installations have offensive capabilities is confirmed by Lockheed Martin itself.

Outlining the characteristics of the Mk 41 vertical launch system, used in both land and naval installations, it specifies that it is capable of launching “missiles for all missions, both defense and long-range attack, including Tomahawk cruise missiles.”
These can be armed with nuclear warheads.

Europe is thus being turned by the U.S. into the front line of a nuclear confrontation with Russia, even more dangerous than that of the Cold War.

U.S. fails to respond to Russia’s request to remove its Nuclear Weapons from Europe: Will deliver new ones from May, courting World War 3
The U.S. Air Force, in cooperation with the Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), has completed the first end-to-end qualification flight tests of the new B61-12 nuclear gravity bomb on the B-2 bomber.
As they leave the factory, the new US nuclear bombs will be delivered to the US Air Force, which in turn will send them to their bases in various European countries to replace the B61s already deployed there. .
Its the equivalent of Russia deploying nuclear missiles in Canada, Mexicom Hawaii and Cuba, say the Russians, putting Armageddon on hair trigger alert just minutes away from Moscow. What’s the point? The US economy depends on lunatic arms spending. What could possibly go wrong?

The Pentagon practically laughed at Moscow’s pleas for serious peace negotiations and in a fit of insane degenerate hubris instead ordered endless, huge and still growing NATO war exercises on Russia’s borders. With nuclear capable B52 bombers flying just tens of kilometers from their Black Sea coast.
Imagine if Russia flew its nuclear bombers 10 kms from New York!
Then it’s ‘ OH HOW HORRIBLE! WAR CRIMES!’ when Russia invades Ukraine (and the US Military Industrial Complex hits the jackpot).

The point is that Russia is still warning that deploying new nuclear missiles on its borders is an ‘Existential Issue’ and a Red Line for them.
But Russia cannot fight the west alone, except by firng its vast nuclear arsenal and brand new ‘unstoppable’ hypersonic missiles, which could destroy the planet many times over.
Both China and Russia have relatively limited conventional forces (just one aircraft carrier and one or 2 overseas bases each, for example, the US has 750 such bases, bristling with missiles.).
However Putin is quoted as saying “Without Russia we don’t need a planet”.

TASS February 17, 2022 The United States has provided no response to Russia’s proposal to bring back nuclear weapons to its soil and refrain from further deploying them outside its territory, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement posted on its website on Thursday, outlining Russia’s response to the US reply on security guarantees.
“In its document, the United States did not respond to such an element of the package of our proposed measures as returning nuclear weapons deployed outside its territory to its national soil and refraining from further deploying them outside its national territory, and confined itself to mentioning the need to address the problem of non-strategic nuclear weapons on the platform of a strategic dialogue, without taking into account the specifics of their location and other factors affecting the security of the parties,” the document reads.

As the Russian Foreign Ministry also pointed out, the issues of non-strategic nuclear weapons cannot be discussed without resolving the issue of not deploying them in NATO’s non-nuclear member states.

“We would like to make clear that our proposals deal with the need to resolve the problem that US nuclear weapons capable of striking targets on Russian territory are present on the territory of some NATO non-nuclear member states in violation of the Nuclear Weapons Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).
As they leave the factory, the new US nuclear bombs will be delivered to the US Air Force, which in turn will send them to their bases in various European countries to replace the B61s already deployed there. .
This should also embrace eliminating infrastructure for quickly deploying such weapons in Europe and terminating NATO’s practice of conducting training and drills for handling these weapons, in which the NATO non-nuclear member states are involved,” the statement says.
The U.S. has recently deployed B-52 bombers and F-15 and F-35 multirole combat aircraft to Europe
The B61-12 bombs ARE deployed in other countries, especially in countries geographically close to Russia, from which they will be used to arm fighter planes, such as the F-35.
In Italy, the Aviano and Ghedi bases have been restructured to receive F-35 fighter jets armed with new nuclear bombs. At Ghedi, 30 Italian F-35 fighter jets would be deployed, ready for attack, by US order, with 60 B61-12 nuclear bombs.
It is not excluded that, in addition to their deployment in Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands, the American B61 12 nuclear bombs will also be deployed in Poland – a country whose air force has participated for years in the nuclear war maneuvers organized by NATO – as well as in other Eastern European countries.
NATO fighter jets deployed in the Baltic republics, on the edge of the Russian border, can also be armed with US B-61-12 nuclear bombs.

The newly upgraded B61-12 nuclear gravity bomb was …
Nor is it excluded that the new US nuclear bombs will also be deployed in Asia and the Middle East against China and Iran.
Despite being classified as “non-strategic nuclear weapons”, such bombs, deployed at points close to targets, would have offensive capabilities similar to those of strategic weapons – such as the nuclear warheads of intercontinental ballistic missiles.
