Biggest ever Climate Demos as Deadly Feedback Loops may be Triggered

Global warming has skyrocketed with every month breaking the record for the hottest ever in history. Evidence grows that one of the 10 deadly tipping points has been reached, which could detonate all of the rest. help save climate HEREextinxtion is forever
This is what the largest civil disobedience in the history of the environmental movement looks like in Europe

These days, we’re witnessing the largest civil disobedience in the history of the environmental movement. People around the world are joining together in an unprecedented wave of escalated mass actions targeting the world’s most dangerous coal, oil and gas projects, under the banner of Break Free from fossil fuels.

The UK kicked off Break Free last week with three hundred people halting operations at the country’s largest opencast coal mine at Ffos-y-fran in South Wales for a day. The peaceful occupation and blockade ended with no arrests.

The following day, 10,000 marched in the Philippines calling for an end to coal — in a country where a month ago, police opened fire on farmers demanding relief for farm communities who have been hit heavily by a climate-change-exacerbated drought. Over the weekend, 2,000 Australians gathered in Newcastle to block the world’s largest coal port for a day.

Tipping Points – the Facts….- an irreversible moment when the dreaded feedback loop begins.  This is now the central issue for the scientific community: we may now be helpless to stop abrupt and runaway global warming.   These ten major tipping points may right at this moment be being triggered.

RECLAIM THE POWER: WHY I JOINED HUNDREDS TO SHUT DOWN THE UK’S LARGEST OPENCAST COAL MINE

 by

26216360443_38848d3e6b_kby Benjamin Brown     On Tuesday  May 3rd, there was an aberration from my normal routine. Rather than dragging myself reluctantly out of bed, I was up at dawn, tense and excited. Rather than preparing for a day of work, I was zipping myself up in a bright red jumpsuit and scrawling a contact number for legal support onto my arm with permanent marker. Today was the day I would join with over three hundred other protesters and take part in an act of mass civil disobedience against Ffos-y-Fran, the UK’s largest opencast coal mine.

US forcing and bribing Europe to accept Frack Gas

   frack USA
re-publicamos este post del año pasado
Not just France but all Europe should ban US Frack Gas.. The US frackers are EXEMPT from clean water laws and get all kinds of hidden subsidies with all opposition steamrollered, while permanently poisoning acuifers, releasing mega amounts of methane which isn’t even measured, destroying people’s health causing cancers and deformities with total impunity, killing animals, insects, fish, birds, etc and abandoning wells right, left and center to frack new ones, leaving toxic ponds….. etc etc.Fracking Orphaned WellsWhy should we accept their ecocidal Frack Gas?? We have far too much already, there’s a glut of gas, and it’s just adding to Climate Chaos.. Is it just to give the  US more profits and help them screw the Russians? Why should we help NATO lunatic morons surround and provoke Russia with more and more bases and nuclear missiles? Continue reading “US forcing and bribing Europe to accept Frack Gas”

Is Climate Chaos triggering Earthquake Disasters?

Last week we heard that the Earth’s wobble has changed due to massive ice-melt already in April. This week 5 massive earthquakes have struck in 2 days…

EARTHQUAKE AND CLIMATE

Climate change will shake the Earth

A changing climate isn’t just about floods, droughts and heatwaves. It brings erupting volcanoes and catastrophic earthquakes too.

As the Earth’s crust buckles, volcanic activity will increase.

reblogged from The Guardian  The idea that a changing climate can persuade the ground to shake, volcanoes to rumble and tsunamis to crash on to unsuspecting coastlines seems, at first, to be bordering on the insane. How can what happens in the thin envelope of gas that shrouds and protects our world possibly influence the potentially Earth-shattering processes that operate deep beneath the surface?images

The fact that it does reflects a failure of our imagination and a limited understanding of the manner in which the different physical components of our planet – the atmosphere, the oceans, and the solid Earth, or geosphere – intertwine and interact.

‘GPS measurements reveal that the crust beneath the Greenland ice sheet is already rebounding in response to rapid melting, providing the potential – according to researchers – for future earthquakes, as faults beneath the ice are relieved of their confining load.’

If we think about climate change at all, most of us do so in a very simplistic way: so, the weather might get a bit warmer; floods and droughts may become more of a problem and sea levels will slowly creep upwards. Continue reading “Is Climate Chaos triggering Earthquake Disasters?”

Attacking UK’s coal transport system – Severing the lines that feed the machine

Severing the lines that feed the machine is not impossible. When people take up civil uprising in the UK, if people are able to shove their obligations to one side to open up an avenue, they mainly have the ability and possibility to be able to grasp their will for something new. The war is not over when those moments stop, it sparks up in little raptures here and there, showing that we are not crushed, things can be brought to a grinding halt again, even for a split second.

It just takes a few bright spirits and we see it clear, when the smug confidence of authorities is knocked, a few pins get hit out and things can be seen in a different light. Out of synch and off balance, everything no longer appears structurally sound, life feels more up for grabs.

The new horizon peaked through our cloudy day, Sunday 6th March, and we hope this uncomplicated act of sabotage we have undertaken exposes the vulnerability of their complex matrix. Continue reading “Coal rail transport line sabotaged in Avon Gorge (UK)”

Bangladeshis’ 400km march STOP COAL NOW

Activists moving from Dhaka to world’s largest mangrove forest say coal plant construction threatens environment.

Hundreds of protesters have embarked on a march from the Bangladeshi capital Dhaka to the world’s largest mangrove forest region in the south, to demonstrate against government plans to build huge coal power plants near the forests.

Activists taking part in the 400km “march”, taking off on a bus convoy on Thursday, fear that pollution from the two proposed coal plants will lead to the destruction of the heavily biodiverse Sundarbans that is both a UNESCO World Heritage site and Samarco-protected wetland.

The 10,000 sq km forest region, most of which is situated in Bangladesh with a small part in neighbouring India, is home to numerous endangered species, including the Royal Bengal tigers, the estuarine crocodile, and the South Asian river dolphin.

Sundarban is the world’s largest mangrove forest and a UNESCO world’s heritage site. This proposed power plant is going to be built within 14 km of the forest, more precisely just 9km away from many reserved sections…

Repsol causes worst ever Fracking Earthquake

Despite poisoning ground water, releasing deadly climate-destroying methane, causing earthquakes, and suffering total price collapse, the huge Nth American fracking industry still gets nearly interest free loans and immunity to environmental laws in order to boost fossil fuels.

Canada’s Latest Earthquake was the Largest Fracking Quake in the World?

Canada once again set a world record for the largest earthquake triggered by the controversial drilling process.                   By Lorraine Chow / EcoWatch    16 COMMENTS          A 4.8-magnitude earthquake has indefinitely closed fracking operations in northern Alberta, an area that has experienced a spate of tremors in recent months.

Fracking was 99% sure to be the culprit, Canada will once again set a world record for the largest earthquake triggered by the controversial drilling process which was reported Tuesday at 11:27 a.m. approximately 30 kilometres west of Fox Creek, Alberta.

Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) has ordered the shutdown of the site operated by multinational energy company Repsol Oil & Gas, CBC News reported. The regulator automatically shuts down a fracking site when any seismic activity registers above a 4.0. Continue reading “Repsol causes worst ever Fracking Earthquake”
