by Lawrence Wittner36 CommentsIn recent weeks, the people of the world have been treated to yet another display of the kind of nuclear insanity that has broken out periodically ever since 1945 and the dawn of the nuclear era.
“The fact that both Trump and Kim are being ‘messed with’ despite their possession of very powerful armed forces, including nuclear weapons, seems to have eluded both men, who continue their deadly game of nuclear threat and bluster.”
On April 11, Donald Trump, irked by North Korea’s continued tests of nuclear weapons and missiles, tweeted that “North Korea is looking for trouble.” If China does not “help,” then “we will solve the problem without them.”
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un responded by announcing that, in the event of a U.S. military attack, his country would not scruple at launching a nuclear strike at U.S. forces. In turn, Trump declared: “We are sending an armada, very powerful. We have submarines, very powerful, far more powerful than the aircraft carrier. We have the best military people on earth.” Continue reading “STOP THEM NOW: Why do So Few of us Protest the High Risk of a Nuclear Holocaust?”
CALLOUT: MAY DAY 2017 – WE ARE POOR BECAUSE THEY ARE RICH… AND IT’S RIGHT TO REVOLT!
BY MR. MILITANT NEGRO May 1st is a day of solidarity with other exploited people across the world and within our communities. This is a call to reclaim and rebuild the history and struggle against oppression with an anti-capitalist gathering, celebration and resistance.
This year we will commemorate those who fought with their lives for an 8 hour workday in Chicago over 100 years ago, and the innocent anarchists who lost their lives at the hand of the law.
On May 1st 2017 we will stand against capitalism, colonialism, borders and the state; we will stand for freedom, community and self-determination as we continue the struggles of workers started so many years ago.
Capitalism continues to steal land, life, culture and language from in the name of profit. The empire it has built on stolen land keeps workers under the boot of the bosses, the unemployed under the boot of the state, as our labour increases their profit margins and we merely survive and dream of the lives we can live in our worn-out bodies come retirement.
On May 1st, 2017 we will gather as anti-capitalists against the systems of oppression that commodify our basic needs and force us to work for our daily bread. The food from the fields and trees and the houses on the streets have all been packaged into marketable products and fenced off from all who cannot pay the price. UPDATE The Frack gas won’t arrive in Spain yet.. The tanker la Mancha Knutsen went elsewhere and the next danger is the ship Cadiz Knutsen#NoAlFrackGasDelTrump
STOP the Frack Gas that Gas Natural Fenosa is bringing to Spain
* It is proposed to use the hashtag #NoAlFrackGasDelTrump to inform and promote resistance to Fracking Gas
Gas Natural Fenosa (GNF) has a contract to receive hundreds of cargoes of the Fracking Gas glut in the US which is causing innumerable cancers, poisoned aquifers and has produced a 2,500 sq ml permanent methane plume over western USvisible from space that greatly exacerbates the global climate crisis.
Anti fracking demonstration in_Burgos. So far fracking in Spain has been successfully blocked
The GNF contracts havbe been signed for 20 years beginning in August / Sept. 2017. But we have found out that some shipments will arrive beforehand during test period. The destination is in secret but will probably be to Barcelona, which has most storage space, or Valencia.
Flood of US Fracking Gas due to arrive in Spain
GNF has already chartered 4 ‘LNG Knutsen’ tankers to do the business. One of them, the new ‘La Mancha Knutsen’, has just left Algeciras (30 March) for Sabine Pass in Louisiana, where the gas is to be collected in the form of LNG (Liquified Natural Gas)
Faced with these facts, it is more than preobable that they will start with their immoral and criminal Frack.Gas business that seeks private profit in destroying the climate and the world biosphere, and poisons the air we breathe.
Map of loading and re-gasification facilities in Barcelona. The tourist city with a Council promising power to the people is about to receive frack gas obtained by ruining the EEUU environment and which is pushing the whole world to the precipice of Climate Disaster.

www.reclaimthepower.org.uk Today 40 activists dressed as animals invaded PR firm Bell Pottinger in central London to expose their ties with fracking. Today’s activities closed the national ‘Break the Chain’ fortnight of action by Reclaim the Power [1].
The activists staged an animal-themed intervention of the Bell Pottinger offices, with zebras throwing leaves, monkeys spreading animal manure and a squid spraying ‘ink’ on the windows. The scene was left in chaos with messages reading “Break the Chain” and “We said No”.
The group said they were targeting the company due to their continual support of fracking since they helped clean up Cuadrilla’s reputation following an earthquake caused by them attempting to frack in 2011 in Blackpool [2]. Bell Pottinger currently represent Centrica who are a major fracking investor in the UK[3][4]. Continue reading “Activists dressed as animals invade Bell Pottinger to protest fracking”
by Skyler Simmons / Earth First! NewswireCommunities in upstate New York are celebrating the recent announcement from the Department of Environmental Conservation that the Northern Access Pipeline will not receive the necessary permits for construction. The $500 million pipeline, proposed by National Fuel Gas, would have brought fracked gas from Pennsylvania to upstate NY.
An announcement from the DEC on April 7 stated, “After an in-depth review of the proposed Northern Access Pipeline project and following three public hearings and the consideration of over 5,700 comments, DEC has denied the permit due to the project’s failure to avoid adverse impacts to wetlands, streams and fish and other wildlife habitat. “We are confident that this decision supports our state’s strict water quality standards that all New Yorkers depend on.”
While the DEC was the one that rejected the permit, the real heroes are the thousands of people that turned out to rallies and public hearings to put grassroots pressure on the government to stop the pipeline. As was noted in a previous article on the Earth First! Newswire, though the resistance at Standing Rock ultimately failed to stop the the Dakota Access Pipeline, the nationwide movement it sparked has successfully defeated numerous pipelines in the past year, as well as inspiring a new a wave protest encampments. The residents of New York and the watersheds they are protecting appear to be the latest benefactor of this powerful wave of pipeline resistance.
