My opinion of the Britain’s National Health Service, from experience, is that, like all large bureaucracies, it is an utter, incompetent mess.
But my opinion of doctors and nurses working within the NHS is one of sky high admiration.
My opinion of the GP (General Practitioner) level of the local NHS, though, is somewhat lower. And this has not been raised by my chum Ariane Sherine‘s recent experience.

Medium and large companies have already begun to replace people with chatbots in the workplace
The world has entered a new era, when applied AI, such as the ChatGPT chatbot, gradually began to deprive people of various professions of their regular work.
What yesterday was a horror story for editors, programmers and secretaries, very quickly became a reality. According to a survey by the ResumeBuilder portal, of 1,000 managers of medium and large companies, 49% already use chatbots to solve work problems, and 48% have begun to fire living employees from their previous jobs for the same reason.
Important note: the survey was carried out with reference to the ChatGPT system, as the most popular currently.
And the chatbot already has a lot of work to do: 66% of companies use ChatGPT for coding, 58% for text content creation, 57% for customer support, and 52% for reporting and meetings.
The most annoying thing for people is that 55% of managers are completely satisfied with the results of the chatbot, and 63% of managers have already included replacing employees with ChatGPT in their business plans.
The situation is paradoxical, because ChatGPT, according to the head of the OpenAI company that created it, Sam Altman, is a “terrible tool” that “categorically cannot be trusted”.
And there are plenty of examples of this, because when it comes to non-standard tasks, ChatGPT turns into an error generator. You still do not have any professional knowledge and skills, because your architecture was developed for completely different purposes.
The main disadvantage of ChatGPT is that it doesn’t understand when something is wrong while doing the job. Its goal is to create the most believable text for a given request, but it turned out that companies need almost the same thing.
First is the increase in profits by reducing costs, albeit at the cost of an increase in the proportion of defects in production. The AI is pretty consistent with this goal.
My fight against the ’41 bis’ (prison isolation regime, ed). is an individual fight of an anarchist, I do not do or receive errands. If the objective of the Italian State is to make me “disassociate” from the actions of the anarchists abroad, let it know that as a good anarchist I do not accept errands. I believe that each one is responsible for their own actions, and as a member of the self-organizing current I am not “associated” with anyone and therefore I cannot “disassociate” myself from anyone. Affinity is something else. A coherent anarchist does not distance himself from other anarchists for opportunism or convenience.
I have always proudly vindicated my actions (even in court, which is why I am here) and I have never criticized those of other colleagues, much less when there is a situation like this in which I find myself.
The greatest insult for an anarchist is to be accused of giving or receiving orders. When I was in the High Security (AS) regime, I also had censorship and I have not issued any “pizzini” [translator’s note: slips of paper through which mafia bosses supposedly pass their orders] but rather articles to anarchist newspapers and magazines. And above all, I was free to receive books and magazines and write books, read what I wanted, I was even allowed to evolve, to live.
Today I am willing to die to make the world understand what the ’41 bis’ prison regime really is; 750 people suffer without protest, continually turned into monsters by the mass media.
Now it’s my turn, you have turned me into a monster like the bloodthirsty terrorist, then you have sanctified me like the anarchist martyr who sacrifices himself for others, to later turn me into a monster again, like a terrible specter. When it’s all over, no doubt I will be elevated to the altars of martyrdom. No, thanks, I’m not for the job, I don’t lend myself to your dirty political games.
In reality, the real problem of the Italian State is that all the human rights that are violated in this 41 bis regime are destroyed in the name of a “security” for which everything is sacrificed. Good! You’ll have to think better of it before putting an anarchist in here. I don’t know what real motivations or political maneuvers will be behind it. And why has someone used me as a “poison apple” in this regimen. It was quite difficult not to anticipate what my reactions would be to this “non-life”.
A State, the Italian, a worthy representative of the hypocrisy of a West that continually gives lessons in “morality” to the rest of the world. The 41 bis has given lessons that have been well picked up by “democratic” states such as the Turkish (the Kurdish comrades know something about this) and the Polish.
I am convinced that my death will put an obstacle to this regime and that the 750 who have suffered from it for decades will be able to live a life worth living, whatever they have done. I love life, I am a happy man, I would not change my life for that of any other. And it is because I love it that I cannot accept this hopeless non-life.

Mi lucha contra el 41 bis es una lucha individual de un anarquista, no hago ni recibo recados. Simplemente no puedo vivir en un régimen inhumano como el 41 bis, donde no puedo leer libremente lo que quiero, libros, diarios, periódicos anarquistas, revistas de arte y ciencias, así como de literatura e historia. La única posibilidad que tengo de salir es renegar de mi anarquía y vender a alguien que ocupe mi lugar..
Un régimen donde no puedo tener ningún contacto humano, donde no puedo ni ver ni tomar un puñado de hierba o abrazar a una persona querida. Un régimen donde las fotos de tus progenitores son secuestradas. Enterrado vivo en una tumba en un lugar de muerte. Llevaré adelante mi lucha hasta las consecuencias extremas, no por un “encargo” sino porque esta no es vida.
Si el objetivo del Estado italiano es hacerme “disociar” de las acciones de lxs anarquistas de fuera, que sepa que como buen anarquista yo no acepto recados. Creo que cada unx es responsable de sus propias acciones, y como perteneciente a la corriente autorganizativa no estoy “asociado” a nadie y por tanto no puedo “disociarme” de nadie. Estoy convencido de que mi muerte supondrá un obstáculo a este régimen y que lxs 750 que lo sufren desde hace décadas podrán vivir una vida digna de ser vivida, hayan hecho lo que hayan hecho. Amo la vida, soy un hombre feliz, no cambiaría mi vida por la de ningunx otrx. Y es porque la amo por lo que no puedo aceptar esta no vida sin esperanza.
