Since January 1st, protests and actions have been happening daily across Mexico to protest the government-ordered 20% price hike on gas, called the #gasolinazo.

Every state and Mexico City have seen actions from marches and blockades of toll booths, border crossing and highway, to the expropriation of corporate mega stores. Four have been killed by police and 800 arrested.

Briton and Canadian killed while Fighting against ISIS for YPG/SDF Revolution in Syria

Another British man has been killed fighting against Islamic State in northern Syria, his family and Kurdish activists have said.

Ryan Lock, 20, from Chichester, West Sussex, died on 21 December during an offensive by anti-Islamic State forces to recapture the city of Raqqa, the extremist group’s de facto capital.

Lock, who had no previous military experience and had worked as a chef before travelling and training in Syria, was one of many foreign volunteers who have joined the People’s Defence Units (YPG), the Kurdish military force fighting in northern Syria.

Ecocide: Catastrophic dam in Ethiopia to wipe out Unique Cultures

One of the most controversial dams in history has been inaugurated. The Gibe III dam has put an end to the natural flooding of Ethiopia’s Omo River, on which 100,000 indigenous people depend and a further 100,000 rely indirectly.

Experts have warned that this could also mean the end for Lake Turkana in Kenya – the world’s largest desert lake – and disaster for the 300,000 tribespeople living along its shores.

Once rich Libyan welfare State, still buried in War, Chaos, Hunger after NATO mega-crime

Greedy western powers, led by the USA, took advantage of the ‘Arab Spring’ to try and seize Libya’s oil and assets and cynically bombed the benevolent dictator Gaddafi out of power as a ‘humanitarian intervention’ in the name of ‘Parliamentary Democracy’ (which has never worked in a tribal moslem society). 5 years later the horror and suffering goes on and on, amid a search for a new dictator able to channel Libya-s wealth to western corporations.

Turkey, Islamist groups attack Kurdish forces despite truce in Syria

ARA News….. Aleppo – The Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) reported on Friday that their positions were being attacked by Turkey’s military and Islamist rebels. The anti-YPG offensive targeted military installations across northern Aleppo Governorate.

“The Turkish Army and allied jihadist groups launched a renewed offensive in the Kurdish areas of Rojava, targeting YPG headquarters with heavy weapons and airstrikes,” the Protection Unit’s leadership said in a statement.Turkey has a modern, largely US equipped, Nato army of 300,000 soldiers, though mostly conscripts, and over 5000 tanks.

The Turkish military shelled YPG security offices in the villages of Yabsa, Kerbnav and Seloula with heavy artillery.
