We Deny free speech to Nazis who try to Destroy it for Everyone

With the expansion of neo-fascist and neo-nazi groups in the shadows of ever more racist, xenophobic and sexist “traditional” conservative right-wing political parties, confusion over the significance of the liberal freedom of speech can paralyse radical political criticism and action. We share below a timely analysis from CrimethInc on the limits of free dialogue when politics must be conceived of as war, as a conflict between ways of life.

We are Not in a Dialogue:

We need Not Just Free Speech……….. but Freedom Itself

Maybe you missed this, but you’re not in a dialogue. Your views are beside the point. Argue all you want—your adversaries are glad to see you waste your breath. Better yet if you protest: they’d rather you carry a sign than do more. They’ll keep you talking as long as they can, just to tire you out—to buy time.

They intend to force their agenda on you. That’s what all the guns are for, what the police and drones and surveillance cameras are for, what the FBI and CIA and NSA are for, what all those laws and courts and executive orders are for. It’s what their church is for, what those racist memes are for, what online harassment and bullying are for. It’s what gay bashings and church burnings are for. TWO ANARCHISTS ARRESTED FOR HAVING GUNS, GABRIEL FREED, CARMEN JAILED

SPAIN: OPERATION “BUYO”, TWO ANARCHISTS GABRIEL POMBO DA SILVA AND CARMEN OTERO

On Thursday, January 26, 2017, the Guardia Civil detained two comrades, Gabriel Pombo da Silva and Carmen Otero, as part of the Operation “Buyo” directed by the Court of Instruction n ° 4 of Vigo. The anarchists are accused in a first instance of illicit possession of weapons: 8 firearms, 6 of them detonating pistols ”transformed to make real fire”, 200 metal cartridges of different calibres and also were found close to 3000 €.

According to the statements of the prosecution our comrades tried to ‘form an anarchist cell with the materials found in the flat of one of them’. This investigation was initiated with information from an earlier operation against arms and ammunition trafficking which the police claim have links with the two detained anarchists. Since January 1st, protests and actions have been happening daily across Mexico to protest the government-ordered 20% price hike on gas, called the #gasolinazo.

Every state and Mexico City have seen actions from marches and blockades of toll booths, border crossing and highway, to the expropriation of corporate mega stores. Four have been killed by police and 800 arrested.

Towards Womens’ Freedom: collective manifesto of the WSM (Ireland)

UPDATED: The Workers Solidarity Movement’s collectively agreed position on women’s freedom.

1. We recognise that women are specially oppressed as a gender, that they face oppression as women. We call this oppression sexism. As anarchists we oppose sexism wherever it exists on principle and in practice.

2.1 The nature of women’s oppression has changed as societies have developed. For example, the oppression of women that might have existed in some pre-class societies assumed a fundamentally new character with the development of class society. Just as the oppression of women in feudal societies changed its character with the development of capitalism.

2.2 We reject the idea that women are in any way inferior to men or that women are biologically predisposed to assume certain roles in society. Sexism, racism etc are not genetic traits but, rather, are formed by social existence, upbringing and education.

Anarchists Monica and Francisco Win Jail Cut to 4 yrs 6 Months

It should have been an acquittal. This was a political show trial with lots of media hype over what was basically a large firework. The aim of the police was to link Monica and Francisco with anarchists arrested on suspicion in the Piñata and Pandora police raids and brand them all as terrorists in an organisation called GAC.

None of this worked out for them despite choosing rabid far right prosecutors and magistrates. There was extensive solidarity and support and instead of 44 years they got 12 years jail, on the basis of blurry security camera photos that ”proved” they were in the city at the time.

Now the Supreme Court has reduced that to 4 and a half and since they have already endured nearly 3 years incarceration we will be planning freedom celebrations soon!!

Prosfygika, Athens: Refugees and Squatters expel Nazis and Police

The Squatted Prosfygika are located on Alexandras Av., within close proximity to the Athens police headquarters and the courthouse on Degleri St., where the mega-trial against the Golden Dawn is currently takes place.

Early in the morning of October 31st, anti/riot police forces stormed the Prosfygika jointly with a large group of Nazis.
