A civilian judgment which demands an “eviction due to precarity” is nothing less than the

frontal attack of the bourgeoisie against the poor, by the powerful against people who lack
sufficient economic resources to pay a rent and also lack properties. (note: the landlord of Kan Bici has at least 40!

The judicial apparatus, the repressive forces and the press are the tools of the rich
to perpetuate their power everywhere. Almost all the properties are in their hands,
they own banks, commercial centers, businesses, shops, houses and land etc…

Eugeni Gurnès: anarchist mayor executed by Spain

via Indymedia Barcelona with thanks. Eugeni Guernès, a Catalan anarchist, driver by profession and a CNT union member, was mayor and councillor in the Llagostera town in Girona, Catalonia. between 24 November 1936 and 10 May 1938.

When the war and the Republic were lost and the fascist coup d’etat finally triumphed he had to march to exile like so many militants. On his return he was denounced, arrested, imprisoned and subsequently sentenced to death and executed on 7 May 1943 in Girona old cemetery, where with eight more people from Llagostera he was executed by firing squad .Eugeni and his companion Carmen Mascort

The war of resistance had ended in March 1939, but in the cemetery of Girona, more than five hundred people were shot dead between 1939 and 1945 and the dictatorship continued for nearly 40 years, with support from western powers. SEAN SWAIN IS ON HUNGER STRIKE

We received word recently from a friend of Sean’s that Sean is currently on hunger strike and has been placed in a suicide cell.

Although details are still murky, we know that Sean has been without food since December 26th. He was charged with extortion of a deputy warden and had begun a disciplinary process when he began his hunger strike and was placed in a suicide cell.

We know that the prison is recognizing his hunger strike and following the associated procedures, which include taking him to the medical unit every day and weighing him and taking his vital signs. Towards Womens’ Freedom: collective manifesto of the WSM (Ireland)

UPDATED: The Workers Solidarity Movement’s collectively agreed position on women’s freedom.

1. We recognise that women are specially oppressed as a gender, that they face oppression as women. We call this oppression sexism. As anarchists we oppose sexism wherever it exists on principle and in practice.

2.1 The nature of women’s oppression has changed as societies have developed. For example, the oppression of women that might have existed in some pre-class societies assumed a fundamentally new character with the development of class society. Just as the oppression of women in feudal societies changed its character with the development of capitalism.

2.2 We reject the idea that women are in any way inferior to men or that women are biologically predisposed to assume certain roles in society. Sexism, racism etc are not genetic traits but, rather, are formed by social existence, upbringing and education.

Anarchists Monica and Francisco Win Jail Cut to 4 yrs 6 Months

It should have been an acquittal. This was a political show trial with lots of media hype over what was basically a large firework. The aim of the police was to link Monica and Francisco with anarchists arrested on suspicion in the Piñata and Pandora police raids and brand them all as terrorists in an organisation called GAC.

None of this worked out for them despite choosing rabid far right prosecutors and magistrates. There was extensive solidarity and support and instead of 44 years they got 12 years jail, on the basis of blurry security camera photos that ”proved” they were in the city at the time.

Now the Supreme Court has reduced that to 4 and a half and since they have already endured nearly 3 years incarceration we will be planning freedom celebrations soon!!
