EN ESPAÑOL AQUÍ via Rojava Azadî The Global Day of Action against the Turkish occupation of Kurdistan will take place on May 26 worldwide. We call on all feminist organizations to join this campaign.Next, we publish the manifesto issued by the Organization of Kurdish Women to convene international action:
“The Erdogan government has taken the colonial ambitions of the Turkish state to a whole new level. Now the goal is to destroy all the achievements of the Kurds in the south and west of Kurdistan. If he can not achieve his purpose, then he will seek to encircle the Kurdish territories and drown them. Continue reading “[26-May-2018] Day of Action against Turkish Invasion of Kurdistan”
As part of the “Women Rise Up for Afrin” campaign, the Kurdish women’s movement Kongreya Star is holding meetings in the northern Syrian canton of Shehba.
Text By ANF News and IC Afrin Resist A German women’s delegation arrived in Al Shahba canton on Sunday to support the Resistance of the Age. They went to Berxwedan camp to meet with the refugees from Afrin, the camp administrators and the Kurdish Red Crescent. ANHA #WomenRiseUpForAfrin
Plan C is working with groups all over Europe to support the women’s military units in both Rojava and Shengal by funding “Celox” hemostatic dressings. The invasion of Afrin and the potential invasion of Shengal is the continuation of decades of oppressive, genocidal policies against the Kurds by the Turkish state.Yezidi women demonstrating against Erdogan’s invasion of Afrin
But the revolution isn’t over and support is needed now more than ever. Bandages will go where they are most needed, we suspect Shengal will be attacked next but bandages will also be sent to Afrin. We are sending bandages to Shengal so that if it is invaded and borders closed there is already a supply.
Since its establishment the revolutionary project taking place in Northern Syria, the Democratic Federation of Northern Syria (DFNS) otherwise known as Rojava, has been under attack from all sides. Whilst fighting a successful campaign against ISIS it’s international enemies have attempted to strangle it with embargoes. Continue reading “Defend the Women’s Revolution”
We’re saddened to announce the passing of Paul Z. Simons, longtime anarchist, journalist, and author. Paul was an anarchist writer with a playful spirit, an uncompromising love of life, and equally uncompromising hatred for authority—be it from the right or the left. We treasure our memories of Paul. His presence will be sorely missed.
Recalled by his eldest daughter as “a uniquely intelligent writer, traveler, idealist, and fire-breathing anarchist,” Paul participated in some of the most inspiring thought and action of the past forty years.
We are not equipped to properly write his eulogy, but we hope others will, and now that he is no longer able to speak to you himself, we urge you to read the materials he left behind.
The following open letter comes from Internationalist Commune, and addresses those across the globe who took part in #WorldAfrinDay.
We, who are working here in Rojava as internationals, are part of the worldwide fight of the opressed against the reign of state, capital and pathriarchy.
– șehid Hêlîn Qercox
The #WorldAfrinDay has been a historical example of resistance and international solidarity. Thousands took to the streets and stood up against this war, giving their support to the resistance and values of this revolution.
Solidarity came from more than 50 cities from all around the world, and it proved how important what is happening here is for people. New groups and new people are organizing their solidarity, getting involved and defend the revolution. From Canada to Australia, from Mexico to Japan, the world has shown that Afrin is not alone.
For two months, the bombs of the Turkish army have been falling and killing people in Afrin. During these same two months, there have been worldwide actions against this occupation.
And they will continue. Afrin, as the western canton of the Democratic Federation of Northern Syria, will be defended as the beacon of hope that it became, as the source of inspiration that it is. The bottom-up democracy, with women at the forefront building social ecology, is what the capitalist system tries to keep locked up, claiming that ‘there is no alternative’, that utopia is not possible.
But here, we learned that another world is not only possible, but necessary, and it just depends on how much we believe in it, how determined we are to bring this utopia into existence.
Afrin is now under the occupation of the Turkish army. After these months of resistance, to see the occupation forces entering the city may seem like the utopia is going away once again; but no one said the revolution would come around easily.
It was something we had only imagined before coming to Rojava, and witnessing with our own eyes what’s going on here. Today, here, we are taking on several centuries of the capitalist system and nation-state model. We are challenging thousands of years of patriarchal oppression and male rule power. We are challenging the essence of how society itself is perceived and organized. Continue reading “Resistance Continues – Open Letter After #WorldAfrinDay + reports”
The Turkish occupying forces, with Syrian auxiliary mercenaries, have advanced to the city of Afrîn.
Demonstration in favour of anti racist, anti sectarian, feminist revolution in Afrin
Their air forces, thousands of tanks and heavy artillery from all sides continue to attack with impunity Syrian territory without any opposition from the government of Àssad, a necessary collaborator in the delivery of their own territory, and Russia, a direct accomplice.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has confirmed that Erdogan’s forces are at the entrance to the city.
Erdogan has already announced an ethnic cleansing throughout the area in order to expel the native population and replace it with Arabs and Turkmans currently refugees in Turkey.
The Turkish forces have advanced northward by forcing the Kurdish militias to retreat to prevent the only evacuation being cut off, on the south, into Aleppo.
Sunday saw dozens of demonstrations across Europe demanding an end to Turkey’s war crimes, as NATO jets bombed Afrin’s suburbs where hundreds of thousands of refugees from their invasion have fled. There is little water as Turkey bombed the main reservoir and pumpìng stations.
At least one area has ‘human shields’ in the form of volunteers from Europe ( they were not hit but the bombing continues), and convoys of demonstrators and SDF military reinforcements are still arriving through Syria.
The defending militias have no air force, tanks or heavy artillery.
This is the message that Jacopo, editor of the Infoaut.org portal being based in the Afrin canton since the beginning of the Turkish-Jihadi aggression, delivered to us a short while ago. An urgent call to mobilize and break the silence in front of the worsening of the situation in Afrin.
Note: Enough is Enough is not organizing any of these events, we are publishing this text for people across the US and Europe to be able to see what is going on and for documentation only.
#DefendAfrin: Urgent call for mobilization
In the latest hours the situation in Afrin became more critical: the invading Turkish army and its allied Jihadi gangs closed in on the city from several sides, in particular from the Shera axis. They are at a 2,5 km distance and directly threaten the city.
The situation inside Afrin is the one still ongoing in these days, then high density of people, many refugees from the villages that found here shelter from war and bombings, lack of water – because, when Jihadis and the Turkish army captured the Meidanki dam, they cut the supply and bombed the pumping stations in other villages. There is also lack of some basic necessities.
Now the concrete risk is that in the next hours there would be an increasingly critical situation and that they would attack the city; even now there are artillery and aerial shellings in the peripheral areas of the city.
The Tev Dem called for a general mobilization, an uprising in every place and square in the world in order to defend Afrin, to stop the ethnic cleansing project that Erdogan and the Jihadi want to implement on Afrin’s populace, to ask for a no fly zone to stop the aerial bombings, that are also the ones producing a massive number of civilian casualties – if they were to further intensify and arrive to the downtown, they will surely perpetrate a massacre.
These actions are already taking place in many European cities, and in Bashur, too.

What has to be done now is to break the silence of the international community, that is actually conniving with this plan; this is what is asked to be done to all the peoples of the world in order to support Afrin and its populace, to support the revolution in Northern Syria, and then the hope and the example of the revolution of our century for a free and democratic society where many different peoples can live together, also representing a proposal of peace for Syria.
An uprising to defend Afrin, but also to defend a hope for the whole mankind.

For more than 6 weeks we have had to watch the Turkish state attack and occupy, together with Islamist groups like ISIS and Al-Qaida, Afrin, the most western canton of Rojava. In this extermination campaign, the invaders are neither deterred by the deliberate bombardment of civilians nor by the use of chemical weapons.
The Islamist mercenaries and fascist Turkish soldiers leave a trail of devastation, plunder, rape and murder, they practice an ethnic cleansing of the territory of Kurds. So far, more than 300 civilians and many militants have given their lives, dozens of villages have been destroyed and hundreds of thousands of people have had to leave their homes.
Despite the determined resistance of Afrin’s people and their YPG / YPJ / SDF defense units, the Turkish army manages to gain more ground every day. While the Turkish offensive was stuck in the border area of the canton for the first month, in recent days important small towns such as Raco and Shera have been conquered by the invaders. Their destination is Afrin City, the place where civilians have fled the villages and small towns they have conquered so far.
This is made possible by the massive use of modern NATO technology such as fighter jets, artillery, tanks and drones. The fascist-Islamist war of aggression against Afrin is not only Erdogan’s attempt to destroy the Kurdish freedom movement;
While Russia opens the door to the Turkish Air Force and the Syrian Assad regime is de facto inactive, NATO actively supports this war with intelligence information, military technology, weapons and ammunition from Western factories.
The hypocritical messages from the palaces of power can not hide the fact that this war is nothing but the reckoning of the rulers with the revolution of Rojava. It is a reckoning with the attempt to counter the capitalist system with a self-determined alternative of radical democracy, women’s liberation, real gender equality, and social ecology.
As radical left in Europe, we should be aware of the historical significance of these days. The attack on Afrin is an attempt to destroy the most promising revolutionary project of our generation. The Rojava Revolution is not only the only significant emancipatory perspective in the Middle East, but also one of the worldwide last remaining glimmers of hope for another world.
