Helena Maleno Garzón  GETS DEATH THREATS..

Just 2 weeks before breaking the news Helena received a death threat, with the words –you are upsetting the authorities (see below in Spanish)– as part of a violent campaign against her and other Human Rights defenders. After denouncing the intimidation HERE they received written support from over 500 associations HERE!

After a short time the Moroccan Navy arrived at the place where the boat was and some people decided to jump into the water and swim to the beach so as not to be returned to their origin.

Old City of ISIS capital Raqqa has Fallen to the Revolutionary SDF

Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) female fighters enter the battle against ISIS in Raqqa

The spokeswoman for the campaign “Euphrates Anger” (Xezeba Firatê), Jihan Sheikh Ahmad, from the Yekîneyên Parastinê Yên Jinê (Women Defense Units, YPJ) campaign confirmed today the conquest of the old quarter of the Raqqa and the Darayeh district, to the West.

The control of the Old Quarter is a very remarkable advance as it was fortified by a historic wall and its narrow streets, complicated offensive operations.

Darayeh was closed at the beginning of the week and has progressed with street to street fighting.

1st Sept 2017. map of Raqqa. yellow is SDF contolled. A Civilian/Military Council of all ethnic and religious groups and women has been set up to administer the city, its reconstruction, relief and refugee organisation, etc, The new administration uses the model of the Manbij Civilian Council, adopting many principles of the Rojava revolution of Democratic Confederalism, but without direct Kurdish control.

Anarchists Fight For a Collective, Sustainable Society Not a Power Vacuum

extraneousthinker           Perhaps clearing up misconceptions is due to the G20 disruptions a la Black Bloc in Hamburg. Regardless, this misunderstanding is largely propagated from the flimsy coverage in the mainstream media.

Mr Robot, for example, showcase a collective of leftist hackers who erased the debt and crippled the financial system in their universe. Fight Club similarly, bombed the capitalist financial centers by infiltrating the security of buildings. V for Vendetta also bombed Great Britain’s political centers in a symbolic meaning of a new society. Even a kid’s show of Nickelodeon in Legend of Korra featured an evil airbender, Zaheer, who believed that the natural order is “disorder.” He eventually killed a queen and ensued a period of chaos and banditry.Resultado de imagen de positive anarchism

It’s no accident then that when anarchists show up on the news or elsewhere, the first thing people believe that anarchists fight for is a power vacuum – no power, no structure, nothing in it’s place.

The proof is in the pudding. Even with it’s problematic inception as an ideology in Europe, anarchism never was for vacuum. Pierre-Joseph Proudhon wanted to replace the system of private property with collective ones.Resultado de imagen de positive anarchism

He attempted this by encouraging a semi-reformist mutualist institutions. Yet others, like Emma Goldman and Errico Malatesta, believed that an organized society would have to fight in revolution to achieve anarchist aims. This tendency won out.  Eliza Egret talks to activists involved in almost two decades of protest against London’s DSEI arms show

Once again, Docklands’ ExCeL Centre will host the DSEI (Defence and Security Equipment International) arms fair next month. 1,600 exhibitors will showcase equipment including drones, tanks, guns, bombs, warships, crImage result for DSEI Arms Fair Actions Protestowd control weaponry and covert surveillance equipment.

They will be hoping to secure contracts and wine and dine with international governments and military personnel, aiming to profit from states’ unending wars of aggression around the world. The arms fair is subsidised by the UK taxpayer, and DSEI’s organisers work closely with the government, welcoming human rights abusers such as Saudi Arabia, the US, Israel and Turkey.Resultado de imagen de Super-Villains Picket the Arms Fair

DSEI is always heavily fortified and policed, ensuring that arms companies and aggressive regimes can make deals with total impunity.

Quakers, Catholic Workers, anarchists, socialists, trade unionists and Buddhists are just some of those who have come together to protest DSEI, which takes place every two years. In recent years, British anti-militarists have been joined by activists from Bahrain, Yemen, Egypt, Kurdistan and other communities directly affected by war and state violence.

Creative resistance

Activists have been resisting the arms fair since its inception in 1999, when it was held in Chertsey, Surrey. That year, mass blockades of the roads took place in an attempt to prevent the arms dealers from getting to the event. In 2001, DSEI was moved to the ExCeL Centre in London’s Docklands. As planes crashed into New York’s World Trade Center, protesters demonstrated against profiting from war.Image result for DSEI Arms Fair Actions Protest

Anti-militarist activist Sam Hayward first attended protests against DSEI in 2003, at the height of the anti-Iraq war movement. ‘That year, millions of people were involved in the opposition to the invasion of Iraq,’ Sam says. ‘When the war began it wasn’t clear how to oppose it and many anti-militarist activists fell away, not knowing what to do. I started thinking about how imperialist wars couldn’t happen without the weapons being manufactured and sold by the arms companies — beneficiaries of aggressive imperialist wars.’

One tactic at DSEI 2003 was to stop the arms dealers from getting to the ExCeL Centre. Sam explains how this happened: ‘Activists climbed onto the roofs of DLR trains and locked themselves on, stopping the trains.

As a result, the arms dealers were brought in on buses. Protesters stopped the buses, laying down in front of them.

Delegates started arriving by taxi and on foot, so people blocked the roads. There were thousands of activists involved. It was successful in delaying the arms dealers getting there, but ultimately the arms fair still took place.’Image result for DSEI Arms Fair Actions Protest

Similar actions against the DLR trains took place in 2005. Activist Gary White believes that this has been ‘the most effective form of action, as it prevented arms traders from using the train to get to ExCeL. But it was very contentious with the local anti-arms trade group because they regarded it as unhelpfully disrupting the community. It also resulted in many hours of community service sentences.’ Continue reading “Stop Biggest Arms Fair London Sept 4 -11 ..WE STOP WAR HERE”

Spanish State arrests Writer Akhanli on Request of Genocidal Erdogan

The German government has asked Spain not to extradite the Turkish-German writer Dogan Akhanli, who was arrested on Saturday in Grenada under a search and arrest warrant for his subsequent extradition by Interpol, at the request of Turkey, for “membership of an armed band and terrorist “.Image may contain: text

The Spanish police have yet to reveal any reason for the arrest.

A German citizen, Akhanli is committed to memorializing the genocides of the twentieth century, including the Armenian Genocide, and to promoting cross-cultural dialogue with a view to reconciliation.

Akhanli wrote two novels on the mass killings of Armenians in 1915, ‘The Judges of the last Judgment’ and ‘The Last Dream of the Madonna’.

After the 1980 coup d’etat, Akhanli went into hiding and was a political prisoner in a Turkish military jail between 1985 and 1987. He fled Turkey in 1991 and settled in Germany.Image result for Dogan Akhanli, arrested ERdogan dictator

In August 2010, he returned to Turkey to visit his dying father, but was arrested at the airport and thrown into prison for four months. This book takes examples from around the world, picking through history and anthropology, showing that people have, in different ways and at different times, demonstrated mutual aid, self-organization, autonomy, horizontal decision making, and so forth–the principles that anarchy is founded on–regardless of whether they called themselves anarchists or not.

Too well documented to be strictly mythology, and too generalized to be strictly anthropology, this is an inspiring answer to the people who say that anarchists are utopian: a point-by-point introduction to how anarchy can and has actually worked.
