7,000 people converge on the Saints in the third day of protests against the eviction of Can Vies, the police State, and capitalist misery.
Blue lights , police , reflected on the wet asphalt Street of Sants, a big working class barrio of trendy Barcelona. . Endless lines of Catalan police vans rushing up and down.. dispersing the thousands of demonstrators who immediately reappeared… a neighbour blasting protest songs from a balcony.. for the third consecutive day , this neighborhood has burned following the eviction of Can Vies, decreed by the government of Xavier Trias, of an assembly-run Social Center occupied for 17 years. ..
(Can Vies was a local self-run Occupied Social Center, going for 17 yrs in an ex union building, with wide neighbourhood support. The Coumcil ordered an eviction for a ‘green space’ to crush an organisation outside its idea of a sanitised, top down, rich only, capitalist paradise. They were warned many times that evicting Can Vies would be the start of urbaan warfare, with 70% youth unemployment. Yet the arrogant idiots went ahead and lit that fuse…..)

LATE NEWS..3rd Day.. just counted a total of 41 separate demonstrations called this evening, mostly in Catalunya, as the Can Vies Uprising spreads like wildfire…
Can Vies was a local self-run Occupied Social Center, going for 17 yrs in an ex union building, with wide neighbourhood support. This is a great new beginning. International strikes are a brilliant way to stop outsourcing industry to places with even worse slave labour conditions. With world strikes we can stop the crazy concentration of wealth, and stop the abuse of nationalism to manipulate us against each other.

It’s 6 a.m. in Chicago, and the bitingly cold, drizzly weather seems oblivious to the fact that it’s May 15th. And yet, a crowd of more than 100 people wearing red ponchos has formed outside of a McDonald’s restaurant downtown, where they’re dancing to mariachi music.

Okay the internet is plagued with Nth American conspiracy theorists peddling their scares.
But this time it could easily be true, see here:First of all little macho dictator Putin is well pissed off that he and fellow corrupt billionaires got sanctioned and has unveiled a decree that can force companies to trade in rubles not dollars.As you may know the whole capitalist juggling act that lets the USA print and borrow trillions only works because the world has been forced for over 60 years to trade for oil in US dollars that it first has to buy.Many say threats to upset this system were behind the Iraq slaughter and the anti Iran campaign.Now there seem to be real indications that Russia and China will finally do a deal in their own currencies, which could ignite the chain reaction and bring Wall Street crashing down!Really!?But hang on a minute.. Don’t the Chinese own half the US debt so they wouldn’t want a collapse.My guess is this is just Putin’s petty power play, maybe a small percentage of trade might be done in rubles, just to scare the Americans into backing off with their sanctions.Much as we would love to see the collapse of capìtalism this looks more like a bluff gambit than mutual economic slaughter.an extract from the article:”Of course, the success of Moscow’s campaign to switch its trading to rubles or other regional currencies will depend on the willingness of its trading partners to get rid of the dollar. Customers are urged to show solidarity by joining picket lines, boycotting fast food outlets and telling them why, distributing publicity, etc. Fast food workers have always been viciously mistreated.
