Emma Goldman … ‘What I Believe’ … read and download

“What I believe” has many times been the target of hack writers. Such blood-curdling and incoherent stories have been circulated about me, it is no wonder that the average human being has palpitation of the heart at the very mention of the name Emma Goldman.

It is too bad that we no longer live in the times when witches were burned at the stake or tortured to drive the evil spirit out of them. For, indeed, Emma Goldman is a witch! True, she does not eat little children, but she does many worse things. She manufactures bombs and gambles in crowned heads. B-r-r-r!

Such is the impression the public has of myself and my beliefs. It is therefore very much to the credit of The World that it gives its readers at least an opportunity to learn what my beliefs really are.The student of the history of progressive thought is well aware that every idea in its early stages has been misrepresented, and the adherents of such ideas have been maligned and persecuted. One need not go back two thousand years to the time when those who believed in the gospel of Jesus were thrown into the arena or hunted into dungeons to realize how little great beliefs or earnest believers are understood.

The history of progress is written in the blood of men and women who have dared to espouse an unpopular cause, as, for instance, the black man’s right to his body, or woman’s right to her soul. If, then, from time immemorial, the New has met with opposition and condemnation, why should my beliefs be exempt from a crown of thorns? 1000’s of Women Protest as Gang Rape 5 get Light Sentences and Victim Blamed

‘Fear is gonna Change Sides’.. Women’s Self Defense.
Just months before they had shared a video on Whatsapp of themselves abusing, mocking and stripping a drugged and kidnapped girl, to the adulation of their many fans (see Pozoblanco below).Image result for Manifestaciones mujeres sentencia manada
The San Fermin rape became the focus of a campaign against sexual abuse atthe Fiesta, highlighting many other similar cases, and condemning the impunity showed by the corrupt political justice system, as well as the links between machismo, bull torture, catholic nationalism and rape in the ‘culture’ of the Spanish right.
The sentencing of the rapists came just weeks after the first ever women’s General Strike on March 8th with an unprecedented awakening to the abuse , denigration and discrimination against women.
A heavy sentence was expected but the judges ruled there was no proof of rape, that the girl didn’t protest loud enough, and reduced the charge to ‘abuse’. For this they got 9 years each.. but  with endless appeals and certain clemency they will likely never go to jail, like the hundreds of corrupt poiliticians charged but enjoying immunity..

Demonstrations called on social media have multiplied already across Spain to express the rejection of the decision of the court
(Ara report by ENRIC BORRÀS / MARIONA FERRER)  Thousands of people – most of them women – have quickly concentrated in the Plaça Sant Jaume de Barcelona. Continue reading “1000’s of Women Protest as Gang Rape 5 get Light Sentences and Victim Blamed”

6 Million Women Reclaim their Power: The1st Feminist General Strike

A strike against/beyond borders: The March 8 feminist strike

It was to be a Feminist women’s strike, at work and in the home. In order to give it legal coverage it had to be officially registered by a Trade Union, in this case the anarchist CGT and CNT. But it’s not legal to call a Women’s Strike in the Spanish State, so they went one further and registered it as the first feminist General Strike. Legal and official.  Helped by hundreds of women’s collectives, women journalists and social media the strike snowballed amazingly to over 6 million women.

This year’s call for a global women’s strike to mark the 8th of March women’s day was expressed in protests throughout the world.  But it found no greater resonance than in the Spanish State.

The call to strike was already in itself a radical gesture, to move beyond the ever so often tepid parades of slogans for equality of rights.  However useful such moments may be, their political limitations are profound.https://thefreeonline.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/cartel-cgt-llamada-convocado-derechos_ediima20180118_0870_19.jpg

In the Spanish State, the strike call was made in the name of feminism: March 8th was to be a Huelga Feminista, under the rallying cry of “If we stop, the world stops!”.  And if Spain did not come altogether to a stand still, tens of thousands protested during the day and roving pickets closed roads, public transportation services, shops.  Public and private sector workers (teachers, journalists, care workers, cleaners (las kellys) and so on) struck.

Originally called by radical labour unions (the CNT, CGT, among others), along with hundreds of feminist collectives and other political groups, its extraordinary resonance finally forced Spain’s larger labour unions (the CCOO and the UGT) to join, with their membership contributing to a two hour afternoon labour stoppage involving some 6 million people. (El Pais 08/03/2018).

CAN YOU describe how the strike was organized? What were the most important organizations?  …..THE STRIKE began to be organized in August and September of 2017, a time during which many feminist collectives in the Spanish state met to analyze the feminist movement and the situation in which it was operating and to assess the potential for organizing a strike on March 8, 2018, following the strike organized by feminists in Argentina in March 2017. …YOU CAN read the strike’s manifesto here. Turkey: Tourists, raped, robbed, murdered, jailed #BoycotTurkey.

Transgender Sex Worker and Activist Raped, Beaten, and Burned in Turkey –

Don’t go on holiday in Turkey! Don’t buy Turkish slave goods!

The openly fascist dictator is promoting attacks and enslavement of women and a macho jihadist mindset. He has locked up over 160,000 people who might not like him, murdered thousands of Kurds, minorities and homosexuals,  uses refugees as illegal semi-slave labour, blackmails Europe with sending more IS terrorists, and now has invaded Afrin, destroying a peaceful democratic revolution, with Russian connivance.Image result for TOURISTS RAPED IN TURKEYBritish holidaymaker raped by taxi driver in notorious Turkish …Daily Mirror

Women Tourists raped, robbed, murdered in Turkey.

by Yilmaz Özdil at Hurriyet newspaper

Here is a rough translation of the article and various Turkish press reports:

“I was raped in Izmit”, said an Italian female artist who was going to Israel to do hitchhiking for world peace, she was later strangled and murdered.

Resistance Continues – Open Letter After #WorldAfrinDay + reports

presenationpic31.jpg

The following open letter comes from Internationalist Commune, and addresses those across the globe who took part in #WorldAfrinDay.

We, who are working here in Rojava as internationals, are part of the worldwide fight of the opressed against the reign of state, capital and pathriarchy.

– șehid Hêlîn Qercox

The #WorldAfrinDay has been a historical example of resistance and international solidarity. Thousands took to the streets and stood up against this war, giving their support to the resistance and values of this revolution.

Solidarity came from more than 50 cities from all around the world, and it proved how important what is happening here is for people. New groups and new people are organizing their solidarity, getting involved and defend the revolution. From Canada to Australia, from Mexico to Japan, the world has shown that Afrin is not alone.

For two months, the bombs of the Turkish army have been falling and killing people in Afrin. During these same two months, there have been worldwide actions against this occupation.

And they will continue. Afrin, as the western canton of the Democratic Federation of Northern Syria, will be defended as the beacon of hope that it became, as the source of inspiration that it is. The bottom-up democracy, with women at the forefront building social ecology, is what the capitalist system tries to keep locked up, claiming that ‘there is no alternative’, that utopia is not possible.

But here, we learned that another world is not only possible, but necessary, and it just depends on how much we believe in it, how determined we are to bring this utopia into existence.

Afrin is now under the occupation of the Turkish army. After these months of resistance, to see the occupation forces entering the city may seem like the utopia is going away once again; but no one said the revolution would come around easily.

It was something we had only imagined before coming to Rojava, and witnessing with our own eyes what’s going on here. Today, here, we are taking on several centuries of the capitalist system and nation-state model. We are challenging thousands of years of patriarchal oppression and male rule power. We are challenging the essence of how society itself is perceived and organized. Continue reading “Resistance Continues – Open Letter After #WorldAfrinDay + reports”

Putin Must Say STOP                                                                                              Barring accidents voters in Russia will elect Putin again. Just when Turkey is invading and slaughtering people in Afrin, Syria, with Putins personal permission. With just one word ..NYET .. Putin could cancel the Fly Permission as he did before when Turkey shot down a Russian plane, and Erdogan’s invasion would grind to a halt. Now for gas pipelines and arms deals Russia lets the Turkish Hitler Erdogan indulge in genocide to boost his personal powers. But what a vile bastard is Putin, bathing in mass nationalist adulation, when with just one word he could STOP the massacre of a people and their brilliant revolution.

Russia to speed up S-400 deliveries to Turkey – Lavrov

To show its happy with the genocide in Afrin Russia announced it will speed up S-400 deliveries to Turkey – Lavrov

The #MeToo movement was but one manifestation of this welcome development. From January’s massive Women’s March – the largest single-day protest in American history – through scores of political and celebrity downfalls last summer and fall, to Steve Bannon’s admission last month that “this time is different” where white male overlordship is concerned, it is hard not to hope we’re approaching a new push to equality.
