Victory!.. Nazi forces ‘eradicated in most areas of Mariupiol’…From Moscow they denounced that the neo-Nazis use the ceasefire to regroup their forces and use civilians as a “human shield”.
Likewise, from the Russian ministry they announced the sending of humanitarian convoys, the first of which arrived in Mariúpol with 450 tons of medicines, basic necessities and food, including baby food..
‘Without liberating Mariupol the war could never end’. Mariupol is a mainly ethnic Russian port city next to Donetsk which was colonised for years by the notorious pro Hitler Azov batallion incorporated into the Ukrainian armed forces.
The Russian Defense Ministry declared on Monday that the operation to liberate Mariupol from Ukrainian neo-Nazi fighters has managed to open humanitarian corridors and begin the evacuation of civilians from the city.
As Russia steps up its assault on Ukraine and its forces advance on Kyiv, peace talks between the two sides were scheduled to resume today for the fourth time, but have now been postponed until tomorrow.
Unfortunately, some opportunities for a peace agreement have already been squandered, so it’s hard to be optimistic about when the war will end. Regardless of when or how the war ends, though, its impact is already being felt across the international security system, as the rearmament of Europe shows.
The Russian invasion of Ukraine also complicates the urgent fight against the climate crisis. The war takes a heavy toll on Ukraine and on the environment, but it also gives the fossil fuel industry extra leverage among governments.
In the interview that follows, world-renowned scholar and dissident Noam Chomsky shares his insights about the prospects for peace in Ukraine and how this war may impact our efforts to combat global warming.
Noam Chomsky, who is internationally recognized as one of the most important intellectuals alive, is the author of some 150 books and the recipient of scores of highly prestigious awards, including the Sydney Peace Prize and the Kyoto Prize (Japan’s equivalent of the Nobel Prize), and of dozens of honorary doctorate degrees from the world’s most renowned universities. Chomsky is Institute Professor Emeritus at MIT and currently Laureate Professor at the University of Arizona.
C.J. Polychroniou: Noam, while a fourth round of negotiations was scheduled to take place today between Russian and Ukrainian representatives, it is now postponed until tomorrow, and it still seems unlikely that peace will be reached in Ukraine any time soon.
Ukrainians don’t appear likely to surrender, and Putin seems determined to continue his invasion. In that context, what do you think of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s response to Vladimir Putin’s four core demands, which were (a) cease military action, (b) acknowledge Crimea as Russian territory, (c) amend the Ukrainian constitution to enshrine neutrality, and (d) recognize the separatist republics in eastern Ukraine?
Noam Chomsky: Before responding, I would like to stress the crucial issue that must be in the forefront of all discussions of this terrible tragedy: We must find a way to bring this war to an end before it escalates, possibly to utter devastation of Ukraine and unimaginable catastrophe beyond. The only way is a negotiated settlement. Like it or not, this must provide some kind of escape hatch for Putin, or the worst will happen. Not victory, but an escape hatch. These concerns must be uppermost in our minds.
I don’t think that Zelensky should have simply accepted Putin’s demands. I think his public response on March 7 was judicious and appropriate.

Yesterday Eric’s legal team (Lauren Regan, Sandra Freeman, Sarah Alvarez) were in federal court in Denver for our final pretrial conference before our jury trial starts on Monday, March 14, 2022.
His court has very specific and strict rules that must be followed if you are planning to come to court in person.
The federal courts are also following federal COVID restrictions which means there will be very limited access for the public in the actual courtroom (like less than 20 seats total), the public will not be able to be in our courtroom during jury selection because the whole courtroom will be filled with prospective jurors, and of course, you will need to wear a mask at all times in the courthouse.
Please read on for some tips and precautionary warnings that are included in the Court Order (View the full order here: Trial Decorum Order from Judge Martinez).
There will be a telephone access line throughout the entire trial, including jury selection so that anyone who would like to follow along can do so. The public access telephone number is: 877-336-1828 and enter access code 9449909#.
The trial will take place at the Alfred A. Arraj Federal Courthouse, Courtroom A 801, 901 19th Street, Denver, CO. It is anticipated to be a 5 day jury trial.
Once you step onto federal property you are within the jurisdiction of the US Marshalls. There are cameras and monitoring 24/7. If anything can be construed as a potential disturbance to the trial or court administration it could threaten Eric’s ability to have a public trial. Please be careful!

Food water and electricity were cut off in Mariupol during weeks of battle
“Today, as a result of the effective action of the formations of the Donetsk People’s Republic with the support of units of the Russian Armed Forces, almost all firing points organized by neo-Nazis on the outskirts of Mariupol have been destroyed locally. ”
As announced by the Deputy Prime Minister of Crimea, the peninsula and the Donbass have been connected by a land corridor. The route is designed to help deliver humanitarian goods to the population in the liberated areas of the DPR. It was possible to connect Crimea and Donbass through a land corridor through the territory of Ukraine.
At the same time, he detailed that the special subdivisions managed to eradicate the main forces of the neo-Nazis in the residential areas on the perimeter of the city.
On the other hand, the Russian Ministry of Defense denounced that the humanitarian situation in Ukraine continues to deteriorate, while the city of Mariupol “has been in an extremely difficult situation for a long time.”
From Moscow they also affirmed that the neo-Nazis use the ceasefire to regroup their forces and use civilians as a “human shield”.
According to Mizintsev, Ukrainian neo-Nazi fighters continue to eradicate the Russian-speaking population in the country.
The evacuation of civilians
“Daily, for eleven consecutive days, from 10 o’clock in the morning the Russian side has opened humanitarian corridors in the direction of Kiev, Chernigov, Sumy and Kharkov. Those from Mariupol have always been blocked by the nazis.
The Telegram channel @warfakes, in Spanish: the war against false news, showed that the images were a montage since the same Ukrainian users recognized the blogger Marianna Podgurska in different photos assuming the role of two different pregnant women and confronted her in their social networks. The channel has also been banned but might be seen with a VPN, 10th Marc.
The departure of civilians and foreign citizens through these corridors is planned both to Russia and west through the territories controlled by Kiev,” Mizintsev said.
In order to ensure the safety of the civilian population, Moscow accepted the eleven additional humanitarian corridors proposed by Kiev in the directions of Kiev, Zaporozhye, Mariupol, Lugansk and Donetsk, the Russian ministry announced.
Meanwhile, the Ukrainian authorities approved for this Monday three of the ten evacuation routes proposed by Moscow.

A group of Ukrainian anarchists from Kiev have announced that they have joined the popular resistance against the Russian occupation and have created their own armed group. This news has caused much controversy in anarchist circles. Without knowing all the circumstances, one might think that this group is pro-NATO, disoriented national anarchist, or even supportive of neo-Nazis. But this is not the case at all.
Anarchist Alexander Kolchenko after the prisoner exchange.
According to the statements they made before and during the war, these people know very well what NATO, capitalism, nationalism and imperialism are and they are against all of that. For me, however, these people are nothing more than a group of comrades in the middle of a battlefield trying to save themselves by maintaining their convictions.
Personally, as many anarchists probably share, I believe that the “Russian state” (whether or not we separate it from Donbass) has no “right” to invade Ukraine on the pretext of its NATO tutelage.
In this sense, the resistance of the people of Ukraine (I mean civilians, not the Ukrainian army) can be considered “correct”. However, in every war there are two sides, and now both are in favor of capitalism, although one of them seems more despotic and imperialist. In addition, it is the State and the capitalist machinery that confront civilians by imposing nationalist ideas. In some cases this leads to bloodshed and even genocide, as happened with the Armenians in the Ottoman Empire or with the Jews and Gypsies in Nazi Germany. Although seemingly innocent on the surface, ‘civil resistance’ can lead to lynchings and murders of other nationalities and even the creation of a new ‘nationalist’ state.
Supporting the Ukrainian “side” now is not the same as siding with the revolution in Catalonia in 1936 (the so-called Spanish Civil War), when the existence of the institutions of capitalism, religion and the state was questioned. Nor does it resemble the processes that are taking place in Rojava (northern Syria) under the influence of Bookchin’s writings. Ukrainian society may be more “democratic” and open (than Russia) in the liberal sense, but Ukraine remains a capitalist state.
On the other hand, the anti-Russian sentiment, fueled by the Western media, is turning into a form of racism, an aggression towards the people of Russia and its culture in general, not only towards Putin, the Russian state or imperialism. I think this is something that we as anarchists should oppose, emphasizing that NATO is no less bad (and in some cases can be more bad) than Russian imperialism.

London. UK. March 14. 2022. Squatters in London have occupied a Russian Oligarchs mansion – 5 Belgrave Square. Cops have maintained a presence outside, and support is welcomed.
The oligarch in question is Oleg Deripaska, war supporter, one of the sanctioned oligarchs. “One of the most favorite Putin’s oligarchs as he called himself not that long time before the war. Fuck him. His property is in process of liberation and it belongs to Ukrainian refugees!”
The squatters are using a version of the Section 6 notice known as the “protest defense”, in which they do not intend to live and sleep at the property, but are instead occupying it as a protest, on rotation. This is because of the 2012 law change on residential property.
