Huge Blu Mural saves Bologna Squat center

Bologna is burning, while just outside its ancient walls a battle is being fought, under the single eye of Sauron, looking down from one of the two towers that are the symbol of the city. On one side are the bankers, shop keepers, butchers, politicians, and all the enemies who want to dominate the city with their bulldozers and their money, including Darth Vader with his troops and a Sauron-Mayor yelling to catch the ring.

On the other side are hackers, cyclists, farmers, guerrilla gardeners, No-TAV militants, anti-fascists, Chewbacca, a book bloc and an Ent throwing a fire extinguisher (just like Carlo Giuliani). He has presented a proposal for a reciprocal benefit society,  a new collective project: RADIUS (Revolution, Action, disobedience, Integral) to protect the revolution and prevent any more comprehensive disobedient activist having to go to jail. Radius is to create an organizational structure to protect the physical integrity of persons activists committed to transforming society, Integral Revolution and freedom of expression, for all those being persecuted by repressive and judicial structures of the State and economic power and who want the option to disobedience and personal protection.  read more HERE

Leak of Police attack plan saves Youth Squat Center

A leak has frustrated this morning eviction attempt o The Catalan police had planned the assault on the building located in Ros de Olano 39 at quarter to seven, when it was still dark in the town of Gracia (Barcelona City). The intentions of the police, however, reached the ears of the youth who for 11 years have been managing this social center.

From six in the morning a concentration of about a hundred people at the doors of the building and several containers with fences and barricades in the streets adjacent commands surprised police and politicians in the district. Undercover officers have visited the area and reported back. The intendant of Police, Richard Fernandez, accompanied by another person has control of the police Avenue Vallcarca and announced the suspension of the action during the day.  TV3 cameras have recorded the moment. Barcelona: Evicted families take 6 bank-owned blocks

The Platform of People Affected by Mortgages (PAH) now drives a campaign to promote “civil disobedience” and extend the relocation of poor families who are homeless in empty promotions in Barcelona and its metropolitan area.

About thirty families are living in Vallès are okupying entire blocks. There are six buildings owned by the banks, and until recently, empty. Due to the slow management response to the drama of mass mortgage  evictions, the Platform of People Affected by Mortgages (PAH) now drives a campaign to promote “civil disobedience” and extend the relocation of poor families who remain homeless empty in Barcelona promotions and its metropolitan area.
