Spanish police hand over Juana’s kids to a Country condemned for Sexist Violence

Spanish ”justice” delivers the children of Juana Rivas to an abuser in a country condemned by StrasbourgDespite dozens of support demos juana was forced to finally come out of hiding and hand over her children to her abusive ex partner, and still faces probable prison for defying the courts. Italy, the European Union country in which the Spanish justice wants Juana Rivas’ two youngest children to be recalled, has been condemned this past March by the European Court of Human Rights for its inefficiency in the fight against the sexist scourge.

”Juana is hiding in my house” proclaimed hundreds of women when Juana went into hiding with her children to prevent them being handed over to her abusive ex partner.

Italy has frightening statistics on everything related to gender violence, even more lacerating than the data that have been registered in Spain successively year after year despite the recent state pact signed in parliament by the main political groups.

The children, aged three and 11, were forcibly handed to their father, Francesco Arcuri, of Italian nationality who was sentenced in 2009 for mistreating the mother of the children.

This judge has not taken into account at any time that the children of a victim of gender violence, with which her father was convicted in 2009 by the head of the Criminal Court 2 of Granada, María Luisa Roldán, should also be considered victims.

Arcuri acknowledged before the judge that on the morning of May 7, 2009 he repeatedly “hit” his partner at the home they shared with his three minor children in the capital of Granada after asking him to explain where he had been that night. Juana Rivas needed medical assistance for the blows received.Image result for Juana Rivas CHILDREN TO iTALY

The head of the Court of Instruction number 2 of Granada made the decision contrary to what was dictated only two days before by another judge to Juana Rivas in Granada, after reappearing after almost a month of being in hiding with her children. Italy: squats and houses raided and evicted, anarchist comrades arrested…

by Squat!net, shared with thanks!        This Thursday 3rd of August, 2017, in the morning, the cops have broken the doors of several rented and squatted houses in Florence, Rome and Lecce, to arrest eight anarchist comrades from Florence.

La Repubblica (Italian mainstream newspaper) says it’s the result of an investigation made by the DIGOS (Division of General Investigations and Special Operations) and the antiterrorist Italian police, regarding two events.

First, an explosive device was put in front of a fascist bookshop linked to Casapound during last New Year’s Eve, and the police bomb-disposal expert lost a hand and an eye.

Second, a Molotov cocktail was thrown against a Carabinieri barracks in Rovezzano (Florence) on 21st of April, 2017.

The cops say they have identified people via bugging telephones, tailings and samplings of biological material (DNA). Continue reading “Italy: squats and houses raided and evicted, anarchist comrades arrested…”

Florence, Italy: Anarchists invite Public to Occupy a new Adventure

Better in a Tent.. Speculation, Gentrification and mass tourism make finding a living space an impossible task.

We decided to occupy one of the many abandoned buildings in the city of Florence to make a place for socializing and sharing, to organize debates, presentations and concerts, to make room for those of us who need a place to be and do activities, to address the social disintegration and lack of opportunity that this city offers us

Florence is run by political powers and local councils for profit and is increasingly distant from the needs of the inhabitants. It is now the practice to sell everything:  the health of citizens, the right to exist of migrants and refugees of war, the dignity of those who have no home, the right to education, the lives of many working men and women.florence-occuipation-2016

The demagogic schemes of the government continue to mystify reality; spreading the culture of resignation, of individualism and conformity, as well as denying the possibility of a social transformation and the creation of a different world.

For these reasons we reclaim spaces and revive them, experimenting with forms of  social and horizontal self-organized centers, is one way to begin to build an alternative society, which does not require an authority and institutions to which we delegate the organization of our existence. Last housing Occupation in Bologna has been evicted

The eviction of the last remaining housing occupation in Bologna – around 100 people, 34
of them children, living in a building inVia Mario De Maria, in the working-class neighborhood of Bolognina – started at dawn on October 11.

The police and the carabinieri surrounded the block and raided the mariodemariabuilding, beating people and even using pepper spray, the residents say.

The newly elected council member for the housing emergency, Virginia Gieri, said that the residents “came out peacefully”, but the residents and witnesses say something different. One man passed out after he was beaten and another person was injured.

Gieri, a loyal follower of Renzi, was appointed to the delicate job of being in charge of the housing emergency in Bologna, after the last incumbent, Amelia Frascaroli, was considered to be too soft.

Renzi’s government is holding a line of absolute repression against housing occupations, and PD local authorities all over Italy are toeing this line, even in places – like Bologna – where the party claims to be more “tolerant” and to have a welfare-oriented tradition. ‘Only One Big Project’: Italy’s burgeoning social movements

by Alfredo Mazzamauro on January 20, 2014

forconi%20sicilia

In the context of a deepening housing crisis, Italy’s movements are becoming increasingly united in their opposition to neoliberalism and austerity.

If there is one day that can symbolically represent the current struggle against austerity and neoliberalism in Italy it must be the 19th of October 2013 — the day of the General Uprising (“sollevazione generale”) against austerity. On that date, behind a banner that read “Only One Big Project: Income and Houses for Everyone!” around one hundred thousand people took the streets of Rome in what could be considered the most successful demonstration by the Italian social movements since the economic crisis began in 2007. #ItalianRevolution: ‘false govt must be brought down’

In #globalrevolution

Italian Revolution

Dear people,

Imagine, in the UK, 2013, John Major returning to be prime minister. It sounds a bit ridiculous, doesn’t it? Especially if you hypothesise him leading a government of the Conservatives and Labour combined. But in Italy, something like this is likely to happen.

Follow the livestream:

After striking a deal with Berlusconi over the presidency of the republic the Italian ‘Labour’ party is about to jump in bed with the media tycoon’s private political party and nominate Giovanni Amato as prime minister. Amato has already been prime minister of Italy in the 1990s. Continue reading “#ItalianRevolution: ‘false govt must be brought down’”

The poster of the 23 March No-TAV Valley invites to “defend your future”

Another march took place in the heart of the Susa valley on Saturday March 23, 2013, organised by the NoTAV people together with local authorities and other local bodies, which have been part of this struggle since the beginning.

Many people, perhaps as many as 40,000, took part in the day of protest. This has been the case for several years now – since the term “NoTAV” changed from meaning “protest against the new high-speed railways between Lyons and Turin” to “developing a new model of managing the common good”. Taking part were people of all ages and political affiliations (associations, groups, movements, organizations, activists and union organizers, producers, consumers, retirees), all representing that part of society which is concerned to safeguard the common good.

Anarchists and political organizations were present too. Continue reading “The view from Susa Valley: NoTAV eyewitness account”

Bologna is burning, while just outside its ancient walls a battle is being fought, under the single eye of Sauron, looking down from one of the two towers that are the symbol of the city. On one side are the bankers, shop keepers, butchers, politicians, and all the enemies who want to dominate the city with their bulldozers and their money, including Darth Vader with his troops and a Sauron-Mayor yelling to catch the ring.

On the other side are hackers, cyclists, farmers, guerrilla gardeners, No-TAV militants, anti-fascists, Chewbacca, a book bloc and an Ent throwing a fire extinguisher (just like Carlo Giuliani). Frodo is a man covered in tattoos, the XM24 militant Willie, and he is the one who has reached the ring first. Continue reading “Huge Blu Mural saves Bologna Squat center”
