December 5, 2017: German cops raided more than 20 buildings in several German states today by order of the special investigation unit “Black Bloc”, which is investgating the clashes during the G20 summit in Hamburg. Several people were injured during the police leipzig7dlogoraids.

On the same day there were solidarity demos in Hamburg..

On December 7 there will be a demonstration against the conference in Leipzig at 05:00pm (17:00) at the main train station (Hauptbahnhof)

We are currently supporting community and grassroots organizations, including Taller Salud, El Hormiguero, Comedores Sociales de Puerto Rico, the Boricuá collective, and the agroecological movement, which are working in the communities, from Santurce to Loíza.

Our center of operations is in Cucina 135 in Hato Rey, with the telephone line 787-767-9862, where we agree daily to join collective, organizational and community efforts of all the organizations mentioned. We are betting on the capacity and potential of communities to identify their own needs, organize their own reconstruction and build long-term collective resilience. We urgently need supplies to provide the communities most devastated by the hurricane and which, as a matter of fact, have been forgotten and abandoned by the authorities.

At eight on Friday morning, agents of the Guardia Urbana city police began the operation to remove the 30 occupants who resisted inside the building. The Committee of the Families of the Detained and Disappeared in Honduras issues an ACTION ALERT to the national and international community on behalf of members of the political and social movement of Honduras who are at high risk due to the militarization of the capital of the republic and declarations made by functionaries of the state of Honduras inciting their supporters into the streets to attack the political opposition that is actively responding to the irresponsibility of the Supreme Electoral Tribunal that has denied the population the right to information about the tabulation of votes from the election on November 26th, 2017. Honduras received $17.3m in security aid from the US this year.

Outraged at the  the theft of Honduras’ election by the discredited current administration, 50 US rights groups have joined call to urge the US to press Honduras for electoral transparency. 
On 3rd Dec the opposition led by Nasralla demanded a repetition of the elections as the count continued to be stalled, with the Govt being given a slight lead and election officials fearing for their lives.

Background

On November 26, 2017 elections for president, members of Congress and municipal authorities were held in Honduras.  At 2 am on November 27 the Electoral Tribunal reported that with 57% of the votes counted the tendency favored candidate Salvador Nasralla with 45,17% of the total votes and the President – candidate

Juan Orlando Hernández with 40,21%. This was the first time that a candidate ran for re-election as president through an assault on the Constitution via the Supreme Court of Justice controlled by Hernández.

After releasing those figures, the Tribunal went silent and the electronic counting system crashed several times, creating a security breach for those holding the access codes.  This situation raised well-founded suspicions of fraud among the population and collective indignation     ./.continues Continue reading “Honduras: your help needed. Gás da Fracking Nos EUA chega em Sines, Lisboa, em 3 de dezembro

Today 3rd Dec 2017 the LNG tanker La Mancha Knutsen arrived at Sines in Portugal and began unloading 170,000 m3 of liquid fracking gas. Another great crime against our planet and its climate for the profit of Gas Natural Fenosa. The last 3 cargoes of the ship have been US Frack LNG Gas taken to Europe, a total of nearly a half million  cbm.  La Mancha Knutsen came under pirate attack in the Gulf of Guinea, off Nigeria’s Port Harcourt in April 2017.  Citing a source in the ministry of defense, Spanish daily El Comercio, reported that at least seven armed men approached the 173,656-cbm LNG carrier opening fire on the tanker once it increased speed to avoid the pirates boarding the vessel. Fortunately it did not explode and the motives of the pirates are more likely commercial than environmental
