After viciously attacking peaceful protestors for 36 hours with tear gas and pepper spray to hold onto the area, Turkish police retreat as thousands of protesters pour into Istanbul’s Taksim Square….

Police have started withdrawing from a main Istanbul square to allow in tens of thousands of protesters campaigning against the potential construction of a shopping centre in a park.
State-run Private Dogan news agency said officers removed barricades after brief scuffles with demonstrators who hurled fireworks at them.
Riot police in Istanbul have fought running battles with thousands of people who turned out to protect a park in the city’s central Taksim Square.
Water cannon and tear gas were used as protesters tried to reach the square and the parliament building in the capital, Ankara.
It all started with a peaceful protest over plans to redevelop the Gezi Parka but it has become bigger than just an environmental protest. It is now a demonstration against the Islamist-rooted government of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

At approximately 07:00 GMT+2 on December 20th, riot police raided the anarchist squat Villa Amalias in Athens.
Eight people were detained inside the building, while the police are now searching in the presence of an ninth person who was also in the building at the time of the raid and who is acting as witness to the search. It is expected that this person will also be detained at the end of the operation.
It is still unclear whether or not the police intend to evict the squat.

The 14th of November general strike in Barcelona started in the very first hours of the night, with pickets  closing bars and spaces still open at night in several city’s neighborhoods, such as Gràcia, where more than 300 people managed to shut down bars, while a supermarket and banks were attacked by hoodies.
Earlier, trade unions pickets had blocked the accesses to industrial parks of the metropolitan area, where no activity was reported at all. No one was arrested during the night. As the sun was rising, fire barricades were erected in all city’s points, with police making the first arrest of the day in the Eixample neighborhood. Beginning of the strike in Madrid.
On the morning of October 4th, approximately 500 workers at the Skaramangas shipyard (West Attica), gathered outside the greek ministry of defense on Mesogeion Avenue. The workers were protesting for the fact that they have not been paid their last 6 monthly wages.
The workers quickly gathered around the hellenic army general staff HQ. Soon thereafter riot police entered the courtyard and clashed with the workers. At least 120 detentions of workers were reported and the tension continued outside the police HQ on Alexandras Ave (where anti-fascists are still held following arrests earlier in the week).
At approximately the same time, in the city of Heraclion, Crete, farmers gathered in the city centre to protest again the forthcoming cuts in their pensions, as part of the latest round of austerity cuts expected to be announced in the coming days, or weeks.
Later in the afternoon the farmers moved to the city’s international airport, entering its halls and attempting to smash through the gate of the airport in order to occupy its runway. Frankfurt on lock-down as over 5.000 police are deployed in an 
unprecedented operation to keep protesters out of the city and away from the banks.
The atmosphere here in Frankfurt is tense. The police is omnipresent. The sound of sirens permeates the city streets. As I write this, some thousands of protesters are huddled together at the university, pitching tents or simply squatting a place on the ground to try and catch some sleep before tomorrow’s big actions. But as the activists here prepare to physically block the headquarters of the European Central Bank, the police already seems to have done the job for them.
