Houthi/Ansarullah block Saudi Oil tankers in Bab-el-Mandeb StraitVessel NCC DAMMAM (click for details, position) with mock-up of missile attack (IMO: 9335056, MMSI: 403508001) is a Saudi Chemical/Oil Products Tanker
Saudi Arabia has halted oil shipments through the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait, the country’s energy minister has said. It follows a Houthi/Ansarullah missile attack on a Saudi oil tanker off Yemen’s western coast after the latest massacre of children by Saudi Air Force .
The tanker attack was ‘in response to the US-Saudi massacre in Hodaydah’ (July.16.2018)
The halt in shipments will last ‘until the safety of shipments through the strait, which connects the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, is ensured’, Khalid Al-Falih said in a statement.

Hopefully the missile attacks will finally force the Saudis to the negotiating table. After 3 years ignoring the continuing massacre for arms profits the West may finally take notice with the threat of soaring oil prices.

The Houthi/Ansarullah fired one of their increasingly sophisticated home made missiles at the passing Saudi oil tanker, the NCC Dammam in response to an air strike on Hodeidah on Monday that massacred at least a dozen civilians, including seven children.
The damage to the tanker, by chance was only slight, but the attack has forced the Saudis to suspend the hugely important passage of its tankers through the narrow Bab-el-Mandeb strait.
Tensions have been rising in recent days after the Houthis/Ansarullah, who control most of northern Yemen, launched a series of missile strikes on Saudi Arabia, including the capital Riyadh.
North and West Yemen are now effectively a separate country, (as they were before for many years). The war began when Saudi Arabia ”appointed” their president Hadi, (he was the only candidate in disputed elections), causing the Houthii/Ansarullah movement to eventually rise up and sweep the country.

The Saudis then recruited the US and Sunni countries to throw out Houthi/Ansarullah, with UN acquiescence, and have been bombing, blockading, starving and fragmenting the country ever since.
US-Saudi massacre in Hodeidah (July.16.2018)
Now finally the Saudis and UAE are bombing out the only main port of Hoddeidah, now besieged by sea and land, to starve the population into submission. More than 121,000 people have fled the city.(note: in this post we use the term ‘Houthi/Ansarullah’ because the MSM (western mass media) always portray the ‘Houthis’ as some tribal group, never a legitimate political movement)
The Houthi/Ansarullah missile technology has been developing for decades as adaptations of old Scud missiles used in Yemen’s civil war in the 1990s. Now the Saudis are screaming with horror that Iran is somehow responsible as the missiles begin to fall on their cities, ignoring the hypocrisy that they themselves have been bombing Houthi/Ansarullah cities ‘back to the stone age’ for three years with no possible response.

On Monday, June 11th, the New York Times bannered “U.N. Pulls Out of City in Yemen, Fearing Bloody Assault by Arab Coalition”. That report didn’t mention, of course, that this is America’s fundamentalist-Sunni coalition of Arab monarchies, using American weapons.
The unstated aim is to bomb and blockade, and now starve to death, approximately seven million ‘Houthis/Ansarullah’, as part of a broader war in which the U.S. and Israel are allied with fundamentalist-Sunni monarchies, which are trying to conquer Shiite-run countries. Hundreds of thousands of people gathered on the streets of Sana’a to protest the US’s participation in Saudi Arabia’s relentless war against Yemen. 2017
Almost every MSM report also alleges as an axiom that the Houthi/Ansarullah are Irani backed, although the movement is mainly a very different and tolerant branch of Shiism. Their Zaidi branch of Islam is much closer to the Sunni faith and they often share mosques together, not acceptable in Iran.
Also food from Iran has hardly ever got through the blockade and there is no proof of them getting arms supplies while the Saudis and UAE have limitless supplies of the most modern US equipment, with a $110 billion Saudi arms sale agreed.
The reason the U.N. and most of the population of Hoddeidah have fled was to avoid being killed by these American missiles and bombs. The United Arab Emirates are providing the U.S.-trained pilots, who are dropping U.S. bombs from U.S. planes, so as to destroy Al Hudaydah, and thereby completely blocking or controlling any food from reaching the seven-to eight million food-stranded Houthi /Ansarullah. https://english.almasirah.net/details.php?es_id=1832&

The UN estimates that more than 16,000 people have been killed by airstrikes and ground fighting; nearly two-thirds of the fatalities have been civilians. As many as 17 million Yemenis, out of a pre-war population of 27 million, are in need of food aid, and of these 7 million are on the brink of dying from famine.
Every hour, six children under the age of five die of preventable causes including starvation and malnourishment. More than three million Yemenis have been displaced from their homes.

Medical staff, sanitation workers and other civil servants have gone permanently unpaid. Basic necessities, including electricity and clean water for drinking and bathing, have become luxuries.
The blockaded port city of Hoddeidah has been without electricity for two years, residents have resorted to digging wells in the streets after the main water supplier ran out of the diesel fuel necessary to pump water to residents.
Garbage has piled up in the streets of the capital city, Sanaa, creating a breeding ground for disease. The current cholera outbreak, which began in October 2016 before temporarily subsiding, resurged after the sewers in Sanaa became blocked and stopped functioning.
Simultaneously with the unrelenting war against the Houthis, the Trump administration has ramped up the pace of the undeclared war begun by Obama in 2009. It is still targeting militants purportedly aligned with Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula for death with Hellfire missiles fired from remotely operated drones from the huge US base across the strait in Djibouti..
US base Lemonnier in Djibouti just across the Bab-el-Mandeb channel, from whose luxury facilities it directs illegal drone war against Yemen.
More than a thousand Yemenis have been killed by drones in eight years, including more than 200 civilians, among them children and pregnant women.
As part of the war against AQAP (Al Qaeda) US special forces troops have also operated at will in the country, carrying out a raid a January in which they killed as many as 30 civilians, including 8-year-old Nawar al-Awlaki, a US citizen.
Nawar was the daughter of Anwar al-Awlaki, an American citizen in Yemen who was targeted for death by Obama and assassinated with a drone strike in 2011.
Reports have also surfaced revealing that the US and the United Arab Emirates are collaborating in the operation of a network of torture chambers in Yemen into which hundreds of men and boys … have been swept up and brutally abused. Victims report being crammed into shipping containers smeared with human feces, blindfolded for weeks at a time, beaten with wires, sexually assaulted, and tied to a spit and spun in a circle of fire.
The torture regime, which began under Obama, also reportedly involves the use of interrogations by American “experts” on ships just off the coast of Yemen.
‘We are witnessing an astonishing new level of human depravity in which the US sells $110,000,000,000 worth of arms to the terrorist Saudi state while actively aiding it in bombing and starving it’s neighbours to death.
Next day we read reports of a massive cholera epidemic but no one even makes the connection. The Yemeni genocide is an object lesson, with the proof open to any blogger in the internet, of the capitalist insanity whereby just a few days of arms spending could save the infinite suffering of poverty and lack of health services on the planet’…

A planned genocide For the first year of the war the central bank in Sanaa (controlled by the (Houthi/Ansarullah) continued to pay government workers salaries on all sides from its reserves.
Then the “legitimate” Yemeni government installed a US aided plan sabotaging the Sanaa bank and moving the central bank to Aden, and salaries, pensions and child subsidies, etc. in Houthi controlled areas were abolished .

That also had the effect of rupturing one of the last national institutions left, and it made it much harder for importers to arrange financing to bring in necessities. The new ‘Central bank’ in Aden has always been a fiasco. Yemen’s central bank becomes latest front line in civil war
Shortly before the end of the year, major trading companies halted wheat imports into Yemen as a result of Hadi’s central bank decision, which made the already dire situation in the country even worse. The Hadi government and its coalition and Western backers have inflicted all of this on the civilian population of Yemen in the service of an atrocious war effort that has failed in all of its stated objectives.
Saudi-Led Offensive Blocked behind Al-Hudaydah Airport
“The enemy is in a quest for victory just in the media and has sent its mercenaries to the slaughterhouse,” Ali al-Qahoum, a senior member of Ansarullah political bureau, said on Tuesday.
“The Saudi coalition has increased its airstrikes and has faced failure in advancing in the Southern direction of al-Hudaydah airport after receiving heavy blows,” he added.
Saudi-led and U.S.-backed coalition.
Al-Qahoum said that the Yemeni forces would never allow “the aggressors to loot the country’s wealth”.
In relevant remarks earlier today, another member of Ansarullah announced that the Yemeni forces could cut off the roads used by the Saudi-led coalition to transfer weapons and reinforcements to the Western coasts of the country.

“The Yemeni fighters have been able to prevent the aggressors’ advance and cut off the supply lines . ” Mohammed al-Bakhiti, a member of Ansarullah’s political bureau, was quoted by the Arabic-language al-Alam news channel as saying on Tuesday.
The Arabic-language al-Masireh news website reported on Monday that on the fifth day of the Saudi and UAE operations to capture of al-Hudaydah, Ansarullah forces blocked the roads and the Saudi and UAE mercenaries have failed win control despite receiving Saudi air support.
Prior to the start of the coalition’s siege, the UN stressed that an assault on the densely populated port city may cost up to 250,000 civilian lives, warning that the operation could leave millions of Yemenis without the “food and basic supplies needed to prevent famine and a recurrence of a cholera epidemic”
Meanwhile, in the front lines, a real game-changer may be ahead, with the Houthis already firing missiles across the border at Saudi oil installations. Then all bets are off – and the possibility that long-range missiles have been pre-positioned becomes quite credible.
Hopefully the missile attacks will finally force the Saudis to the negotiating table
The Saudi State is trying to annihalate the ‘Houthis’ not so much due to the Irani influence but because the Zaidi moslems live on both sides of the border and ‘Houthi/Ansarullah’ success would encourage the resistance movements in criminally oppressed and repressed southern and eastern Saudi Arabia.
Meanwhile the ”liberated” South Yemen degenerates into another nest of mini dictators backed by multiple factions and outside states, (after Somalia, Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria and Libya), and further north millions of ordinary people are condemned to die painfully and disgracefully in a planned genocide for profit by the so called ”free world”.
Deliberate famines have been organised by the West in Colonial history, but nothing like this… deliberately and maliciously blockading food imports, bombing the cities to rubble, closing the Central Bank, and cutting off salaries, subsidies, water, sanitation, health services, poverty aid and all other public facilities.
