Caitlin Moran, the feminmist funnywoman, is currently having an American media moment as she marks U.S. publication of her book How to Be a Woman, a memoir-slash-manifesto that’s been a massive best-seller in the U.K. She’s been described as the British Tina Fey, the next Nora Ephron, and an occasional Lady Gaga bathroom companion. Everyone’s talking about her fervid defense of feminism. (“Do you have a vagina? and Do you want to be in charge of it? If you said ‘yes’ to both, then congratulations! I know lots of men who eat salad—straight men, too. At one time, I even knew more male than female vegetarians. However, I also know lots of men who find this hard to believe. Even in New York, there are tons of stereotypes about what kinds of foods are “gay” and which ones are “straight.”

In Gay Men Don’t Get Fat, his nod to the popular French Women Don’t Get Fat, humorist Simon Doonan plays around with these long-held opinions by encouraging straight men to eat more gay food rather than the meaty, fatty “manly” grub he equates with heterosexual eating.

La crisis no sólo continúa, sino que se agrava, se hace cada día peor. Y no hay salida desde el capitalismo, porque este sistema está en crisis terminal. Sólo hay que ver cómo sus gobiernos (todos, los de ahora y los de antes) no saben qué hacer; cómo mienten cada día (desde hace años, ellos y sus medios de desinformación) diciendo que en unos meses o años veremos cómo cambia el ciclo económico. Pero lo único que hemos visto, vemos y veremos es cómo se hunden nuestras condiciones de vida, porque las consecuencias las pagamos la inmensa mayoría. Se deterioran nuestras vidas y perdemos las conquistas sociales que tanto tiempo y tantas luchas nos costaron. Y que hemos pagado con nuestro trabajo y nuestros impuestos, porque el poder no nos ha regalado nada.

No Borders..Freedom of Migration ..unDocuBus

Undocubus in NYT: Many of those planning to ride the bus are undocumented and — for the first time — are not afraid to say so.

All over the world there exists millions of desperate people in hiding because Nation States misuse migration as a cheap way to get power. Now the movements of the 10 million US clandestine undocumented are getting organised, though almost all politicians are against them.  A ‘Freedom Ride‘ called Undocubus is set to roll from Arizona to Democratic Convention.

The “‘Undocubus” is making a national buzz and was featured in an editorial for the New York Times. The move by the ‘freedome riders’ is unprecedented as many of them would not be considered ‘DREAMers’ (although as in most pro-immigrant activism, DREAMers do have involvement). Climate Deniers defeated as key scientist defects

The Climate denier bandwagon, financed by the Koch brothers and Big Oil has suffered a big defeat.

A new report, commissioned in part by the deniers themselves has confirmed shocking and

dangerous warming using different methods of measurement.

The delay of 10 to 15 years and breakdown of international control measures caused largely by the US anti Climate Change lobby will lead to many millions of deaths as the present huge increase of CO2 releases works it way through the atmosphere over the next  20 to 30 years.

Solidarity Statement against the raids and grand jury

On Wednesday July 25th, the FBI conducted a series of coordinated raids against activists in Portland, Olympia, and Seattle. They subpoenaed several people to a special federal grand jury, and seized computers, black clothing and anarchist literature.
