Barcelona: Defending l’Agora occupied Community Site against Fierce Speculation

‘Ágora Juan Andrés’ is an amazing self-run occupied area in the old Raval area where all kinds of activities take place. It’s been going since Oct 2014 and is named in memory of Juan Andres, a local man who was beaten to death by the police in the street.

On Wednesday, June 6, the occupied community site ‘Ágora Juan Andrés’ was notified of a claim by the company ‘Triquell y García SL’ against the “unknown occupants” of the plot requesting the eviction of the space and compensation of 20,000 Euros . We went to the Court nº 3 to defend ourselves against their accusations .

Surprisingly, the company is the same that lost the property in June 2007, having 3 pending mortgages as well as 2 procedures for seizure by the Public Treasury and the Town Hall of Barcelona. The site became the property of the SAREB bank but now Triquell y García SL is back as a claimant and owner. Los repobladores de Fraguas deberán demoler el poblado de esta antigua aldea de la Sierra Norte de Guadalajara que llevaban reconstruyendo desde 2013.

Así lo recoge la sentencia emitida hoy por el Juzgado de lo Penal de Guadalajara que condena a cada uno de los seis encausados por el caso Fraguas a penas de un año y seis meses de cárcel por un delito contra la ordenación del territorio y a una multa de 12 meses a razón de seis euros de cuota diaria (2.160 euros). The following zines and pamphlets were released within the broad anarchist space during the month of May. We encourage folks to check them out, print them, share copies, and discuss them.

We produce these lists each month to help boost the visibility of anarchist publications. We try to cast a wide net with these posts, and consequently we don’t necessarily agree with nor endorse everything contained within these zines. This issue features a variety of updates on local struggles against gentrification, the police, and fascists. There are reports from various actions that have taken place in the Montreal area, along with several pieces about anti-anarchist repression Hamilton, Ontario and a longer personal reflection in a new “Stories of Struggle” feature that uses story-telling to give “…life to our collective memory and allows us the opportunity to learn from past experiences.”

In Kenya, women protested in a restaurant where a waitress had asked a woman to go to the restrooms to breastfeed her baby.In Chile, a communications agency aired a TV message that highlighted the fact that no law protects breastfeeding women, nor do they have any legal recourse if they were harassed while breastfeeding. The report below on the women’s revolution in Manbij was written before their betrayal by the USA. The Trump/Erdogan ‘roadmap’ plans to ‘hand over’ to the FSA jihadist terrorist mercenaries sponsored by Turkey the cities of Manbij, Raqqa the ISIS capital and other areas where ISIS was heroically expelled despite heavy losses by the SDF, which includes the YPG/YPJ .

The agreement says that Turkey and the US will ”jointly guarantee security”. It looks like the city of Manbij, liberated from IS terror after a long and bloody fight, the first and shining example of the revolutionary ideals of Rojava applied to a multi ethnic area, will be attacked by Erdogan’s hired jihadi FSA, with US consent.

The USA, while claiming to stand for democracy, has sold out the only democratic revolution in the whole of the middle east in order to placate an evil mass murdering dictator and allow him to set up another repressive jihadi protectorate.
