Stop Amazon’s Slave Work Conditions. World Solidarity for Strike in Amazon Spain

Workers at Amazon’s center near Madrid took on the richest capitalist ever, Jeff Bezos , in a 3 day strike on July 16 to 18 (Amazon’s ‘Prime Sales Days’ ) against severe cuts in their working conditions.

On the second day of the strike riot police charged and viciously beat up defiant pickets, injuring many and arresting three, later released with charges. Video of the police attack in favour of Amazon went viral around the world on social media.Amazon’s management thought they could intimidate a local dispute but the assembly based strikers of the anarcho-syndicalist CGT and the CCOO called out 80% of the full time workers, nearly shutting down the operation.

International solidarity was the key breakthrough, union delegates had previously traveled to Italy and Germany to seek support. 1,200 people in six German centers seconded the strike on these same days , while in Poland there have also been days of strikes despite “completely contrary legislation”. Colombia: US backed Right murders over 313 Community Activists

Over 313 Murders of Human Rights and Environment Defenders, Denounce Colombian Activists.. Government Silent

‘With the guerrillas finally withdrawing and disbanding in a ‘Peace Process’ the rightwing capitalists,  oligarchy and landlords are sending their hired mercenaries to torture and kill hundreds of activists in Unions,  community and environmental  groups. In Cauca [in the Colombian countryside] alone, there are now a reported 12 different such armed groups operating with impunity, also as narco-trafficking organizations’.

 Posted on July 20, 2018 by       Activists from various organizations worldwide [1] protested against the murders of at least 313 human rights defenders in front of the United Nations headquarters two days after the Colombian government reported at the High Level Political Forum (HLPF) in New York [2].

Aquí tienes el segundo número de este periódico que, con el poco tiempo de vida que tiene, puede decir que ha ido cumpliendo poco a poco algunos de los objetivos que se proponía.

Por un lado, se quería generar debate en el barrio y hacerlo mediante un formato accesible, gratuito y con presencia en la calle, algo que se va logrando poco a poco con los repartos que se van haciendo en los metros, algún centro cultural, bibliotecas, comercios y locales.

Por otro, al ser un proyecto auto-gestionado, no contamos con más ayuda económica y esfuerzo que el nuestro propio y el de quienes, mediante el apoyo y la solidaridad, hacen posible que iniciativas como ésta puedan seguir adelante. Ya son varios los proyectos del barrio que nos apoyan económicamente para que puedas tener en formato impreso este periódico y no es  poca la ayuda que supone para quienes queremos seguir con la iniciativa, por lo que, les estamos muy agradecidos y esperamos seguir en esta dirección para poder, en un futuro no muy lejano, tener una tirada más grande en la calle y poder llegar a más sitios.

Al final, los 1.000 ejemplares, se nos han quedado cortos y eso, es una buena noticia.

‘TheFreeOnline’ blog banned in Turkey with Dozens more pro Rojava and anti Fascist sites

We have received copies from WordPress.com of Court Orders granted to Turkey to order them to  ban this blog thefreeonline in Turkey and for internet users ”originating on Turkey”and also around 50 more blogs for posts against fascism, racism and patriarchy by the ‘elected dictator’ Erdogan and in favour or Democratic Confederalism. ( see list below, includes Latuff Cartoons, Desert Peace, Uprooted Palestinians, etc).Image result for blogs banned in Turkey by wordpress

thefreeonline is a modest blog which promotes a utopian novel called The Free and posts relevant news, etc, in this case about the inspiring bottom up democratic revolution in Rojava, which has been brutally repressed in Turkey itself and now in Afrin with the Turkish invasion.2013121864316309734_20You can’t read thefreeonline anymore in Turkey (except with a Vpn or Tor) , or if you’re a person ”originating in Turkey” (we’re not sure how that works, but the order seems to aim at blogs translating or sharing news from exiled Turkish people and supporters..

The ban includes the suppression of much more frequented sites, see list below, and probably there are many more, and perhaps Google and other blog hosts have followed wordpress’s example of refusing to appeal the banning orders.

WordPress’s statement says  ”we must comply to keep WordPress.com accessible for everyone in Turkey. We will not be challenging this order in court”. In other words Erdogan is blackmailing again, threatening to ban all WordPress.com blogs from Turkey (as they did before) unless those critical of him are suppressed.

We could fill pages with a list of documented  blackmail scams by Erdogan over the years, one of his most disgusting being extracting billions of euros in EU tax money in exchange for blocking refugee boats. This while exploiting the same  refugees as illegal semi slave labour and recruiting them as jihadi mercenaries to invade and ”ethnically cleanse” (a euphemism for genocide) Rojava and now parts of Northern Iraq. see.. Pola Roupa gets life plus 25 years jail accused of blowing up Greek Central Bank without victims.

Pola Roupa, a member of Greek urban guerrila group Revolutionary Struggle, has been sentenced to life and 25 years imprisonment over the bomb attack on the Greek National Bank and the offices of the IMF in Athens in April 2014.

The attack destroyed the front of the National Bank. Nobody was hurt, as people who conducted the attack took precautions and informed the authorities before the blast, allowing enough time for evacuation.

According to the prosecution, the attack could have been much more damaging if not for the security guard who managed to lower the metal shutters at the Greek National Bank before the evacuation, hence preventing the total collapse of the building. Should the building have collapsed it would likely have  resulted in the destruction of Greek banking system and massively damaged the Greek economy. Trump beats up NATO members in American Protection Racket

   by Finian Cunningham    The capo-in-chief flew into Brussels like many feared he would, beating up on other NATO members with a combination of blackmail and extortion.

President Trump wants the others to cough up more dough for the “protection” provided to them by the United States. The American leader berated European heads of state as if they were naughty children, accusing them of “freeloading” on US military power for their defense over many decades, and of giving nothing back.

Trump singled out Germany in particular for his sharpest dressing down. He accused the top European economic power of being “controlled by Russia” owing to its supposed dependence on Russian oil and gas.

Trump used that claim as a form of blackmail, alleging that Germany has been giving billions of dollars to Moscow for energy supplies, while cheating on financial payments to NATO because it relies on US military defenses. Continue reading “Trump beats up NATO members in American Protection Racket”
