The 8M Commission calls for a feminist strike in 2019

The meeting of the  commission of the feminist movement that called the strike of March 8, 2018 has agreed on a new call for a Womens’ Strike for March 8th 2019.

It remains to be decided whether it will be mixed or only women will be summoned , but there is already confirmation: there will be a feminist strike. Only Madrid and Extremadura assemblies remain to pronounce pending what their bases decide. At the moment, in what there is consensus is that the next appointment must “overflow the margins of the strike”, reaching more women and more spaces. Migrants remember in the debates that new spaces of struggle must be created because in the street they are vulnerable.

Now it is the territorial assemblies that have to work and land the convocation to their places.

Among the proposals, extend the day of struggle to eight days of actions that make visible, inform and train in the work spaces, in schools and on the street.

They start from the four main sides of the previous strike (labor, consumption, student and care) but open the door to new areas such as violence. They point out that the consumer and care strikes must be reinforced because of their anti-patriarchal, anti-capitalist and anti-racist character.Manifestación por el 8M, 2018

After the debates, the women gathered in Gijón, Asturias, in this 4th Meeting of the 8M Commission, took to the streets of the city under the slogan ‘They hurt us one, they hurt us all’. The meeting continued on Sunday with spaces for debate and thematic analysis.

Convocada para el próximo 8 de marzo una huelga feminista

La decisión se ha tomado en el IV Encuentro Estatal Feminista de la Comisión 8M celebrado en Gijón.Manifestación por el 8M, 2018

Todavía restan flecos por acordar, como por ejemplo si será una convocatoria general o solamente para las mujeres. Entre algunas de las propuestas destacadas en este encuentro al que acudieron en torno a 600 participantes, destaca la de ampliar la jornada de huelga a ocho días, generando acciones que visibilicen el movimiento, informa el periódico El Salto.

El próximo encuentro estatal será el 26 y 27 de enero en Valencia. Será un espacio de debate y de construcción de la huelga feminista del 8M.

La huelga descansará sobre cuatro pilares principales, muy similares a los del año pasado. Los ámbitos laboral, estudiantil, de consumo y cuidados serán los ejes clave, que trabajarán con la intención de aumentar en número y en fuerza lo vivido el pasado 8 de marzo, según informa la Cadena Ser.

Trump’s abrupt decision to pull troops out of Syria effectively gave Ankara the green light to take over and Turkify the remaining Kurdish-controlled areas in northern Syria, including important oilfields.
Turkey was all set to invade, poised to first take over the Manbij area and city, with thousands of jihadi mercenaries and its 500,000 strong army.
Then on Friday 28th Dec. the Kurds, in agreement with the Manbij Council invited Assad’s Syrian army to take control and the SAA immediately agreed and its troops planted the Syrian flag near the city….

comment..      ‘An RT video shows Turkish troop convoys invading Syria at Jarablus. The Kurdish invitation to Assad’s troops to defend Manbij from Turkey and its slavering, drugged,  jihadi mercenaries has been accepted by Syria and some SAA troops are near the city.

However Erdogan seems to be going ahead with his invasion .. because it has nothing to do with a few Kurds being on the local multi ethnic council, and everything to do with destroying the Rojava Revolution, especially the liberation of women, and opening the way for a full scale invasion of eastern Rojava.

Erdogan is fuming mad, hopefully by just a day or two he has been prevented from seizing Manbij… which he would never ever give back.

Reported troop entry into Manbij comes after Kurdish YPG asked for government help in preventing a ‘Turkish invasion’. The US still has two posts around Manbij but they are due to pull out. Erdogan furiously  called the announcement a ‘False Psyop’ but Turkey will now  have to make new plans to continue its genocidal plot to expand the ´’Ottoman Empire’.

MANBIJ (ANF) – The Turkish state and their allied gangs have been fortifying their positions in the occupied areas around Manbij. The Manbij Military Council (multi-ethnic and women) has announced that they are ready to push back any and all attacks.
The Arab section of SDF, Jaysh al-Thuwar, is taking the lead in defending Manbij against Turkey, to counter the absurd accusations by Erdogan and Trump and the western media, that Manbij is a ‘nest of Kurdish terrorists’, and that Turkey is invading to ‘finish off ISIS’ when the nearest ISIS troops are over 500 kms away!
After a long bloody siege Manbij was liberated from ISIS terror in 2016. Now with Trump’s sellout/betrayal and Russian and Syrian permission, the neo-fascist expanding Erdogan regime is letting loose its paid jihadi gangs to destroy the Manbij revolution, enslave women as before, and open the way for a real genocide in eastern Rojava.
The US has given Erdogan free rein to flood Rojava with his fast growing mercenary army of jihadi Syrian militias, including many ISIS and Al Qaeda and militias now holed up in Idlib. Erdogan is paying the terrorists 500 Turkish dollars a month and offering loot, land and power destroying Rojava. Especially evil is the promise to destroy the unique womens’ liberation movement, returning women to semi slavery under medieval jihadi rule and implicitly offering the terrorist mercenaries the right to kidnap, rape and torture the heroic YPJ womens defense militia, as is already happening in Afrin.
Following the US decision to withdraw troops from Syria, the Turkish state has increased invasion attempts targeting Kurds. Massive invasion preparations are well advanced around Manbij area which will be a relatively easy target when the small US presence clears out.
Manbij is not even a Kurdish majority town and a unique independent multi ethnic and gender equal Council was set up after the SDF liberated it from ISIS  and successfully runs the area despite the Turkish blockade. We’re in need of succor, or reform, or rescue.

Writings by our own talented authors are popular if they reveal  exploitations or despairs or escapes. These feed enlightened sisters abroad who may feel better about themselves when they can pity others.

Four women meet in Dar Joued (a women’s prison) on the eve of Independence day. From different ages and social conditions, they are condemned to live together under the authority and injustice of their jailer: Jaida. They share memories from the outside world, and also the joy, emotions and torment of their daily lives in Dar Jouad.

´Free Öcalan’ hunger strikes for Kurdish ‘Nelson Mandela’.

Abdullah Öcalan,the ‘Nelson Mandela’ of Kurdistan has been incarcerated since 1999 by the Turkish State, without trial in solitary and now totally isolated, even from his lawyer.

 Öcalan is credited with adapting the ‘municipal anarchism’ of Murray Bookchin to create a new anti-state non-hierarchical system based on feminism and ecology, which has swept through Turkish and Syrian Kurdistan as well as parts of Iraq and Iran, , and has a growing influence among Arabs and Turkish and around the world.

HDP MP on hunger strike for Öcalan, : My demand is the demand of millions

“I am on the 20th day of the hunger strike ( note: now over 30 days). An action I began on my own free will. I am willing to be doing something against the isolation regime that I think is a crime of humanity. I know this is the demand of millions.”

  • ANF English  HDP (Peoples’ Democratic Party) co-chair Sezai Temelli read the message at the party’s weekly meeting. The HDP deputy has been on hunger strike for 20 days calling for an end to the isolation regime imposed on Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan, which is an isolation imposed on the whole Turkey.
