Great news! By just 13 votes the Brit Parliament voted against bombing Syria.

This, along with Arab League failure to endorse, French backing off and a snowballing anti-war campaign at home MAY BE ENOUGH to stop the US attacking Syria.

Bad news for US corporations and the arms market. Bad news for the Israelis, for all the imperialist, racist and sexist warmongers who get hot on the idea of blowing people to pieces for their own profit and prestige. Continue reading “Good News At Last! .. Syria Bombing to be Cancelled?”

IN MADRID ACTIVISTS GATHERED TO STOP THE EVICTION OF A FAMILY, ONE AMONG HUNDREDS DAILY.

They succeeded in blocking the evacuation of the family who’ve lived there for generations. Hundreds gathered in solidarity to ocupy the street, roof, garage and indoors, staying there 24 hrs a day for 2 weeks until the Eviction order finally ran out. Solidarity CAN win, and the anti eviction movement is fast expanding.

One more sleepless night on the roof of Ofelia Nieto street number 29,
A few hours more and we will stop the eviction. So that this process that started 15 days ago has a fair result. That’s apart from the $9.5m worth of properties the family has across California. Continue reading “‘Pork-barrel protests’ rock the Philippines”

In 2010 Ecuador made the world an offer it couldn’t — or at least, shouldn’t have been able to — refuse. For the measly price of $3.6bn, it promised not to exploit the Ishpingo-Tiputini-Tambococha oil block in the Yasuni national park, a 675 square mile patch of pristine Amazon rainforest that is home to barely contacted indigenous tribes, thousands of species of trees and nearly 1bn barrels of crude oil.
