Unite Against Fascism In Turkey!

Erdogan and Justice and Development Party (AKP) government have launched an aggressive assault against the Kurds, democrats and revolutionaries by declaring a state of emergency following the failed coup attempt.

The state has arrested dozens of Kurdish MP’s including Co-leaders Figen Yuksekdag and Selahattin Demirtas, closed down media outlets (TV channels, radio stations, newspapers), political organisations, arrested progressive journalists,sacked academics, lawyers and many more.

Recently government officials announced that the State of Emergency will be extended until April 2017.antifaThe progressive Kurdish and Turkish forces living in UK have organised a national demo against the Turkish state’s assault on Kurds, Democrats and Revolutionaries and calls for your support and solidarity.

Date: 15 January 2017
Time and Venue: 2pm starting from BBC headquarters on Portland Place, nearest station is Oxford Circus.

A big showdown is brewing at the Sweets Way estate in Barnet, North London. High court bailiffs and cop reinforcements are preparing to swoop on the estate in a major operation to clear those defending the homes and fighting social cleansing. Already things have started getting heavy, as a new firm of security thugs (“Dorman & Co”) arrived yesterday and starting attacking people last night.img_7175

But the squatters are ready to resist. Numbers are growing, and the heart of the estate is now barricaded off. They are calling for support: get down this weekend to build and reinforce the barricades and prepare for action. The eviction is expected any time from Monday. BBC censors the Smashing of Guardian’s Hard Drives

Today 20th August I  can find no mention in the BBC online that their sister media outlet The Guardian was forced by police to destroy hard drives with leaked info of US security crimes, in their basement yesterday. Incredible but I just spent half an hour searching, check yourself!. ah, but of course, the BBC is controlled by the British Government. A story that is second most popular in the Washington Post ISN’T WORTH REPORTING the next day in the BBC. Is this pre-nazi Germany or what?!big brother

Evict Lord Freud! Demo at House of Criminal Minister

UK Uncut held a protest outside Lord Freud’s house in North London on Saturday(13th).

Hundreds of demonstrators gathered outside the plush £1.9 million suburban home of Baron David Freud, minister for welfare reform, to protest against bedroom tax and benefit cuts. The anti-cuts activists wrote postcards to send to him whilst sat outside his home and played repetitive beats on drums for change. British ban squatting to pamper the 1% :Resistance Actions.

Squatting in empty properties is now a criminal offence, but homeless people say they are being unfairly criminalised.

The ministry of justice estimates up to 2,000 people could be prosecuted each year [Al Jazeera/Simon Hooper ]
London, UK – “Todd” was 18 when he came to the United Kingdom from Lithuania in 2005 in search of a better life. But things didn’t work out. By 2009, with the British economy ravaged by recession, he had lost his job and had nowhere to live.

“I had really bad depression so I couldn’t hold a job. I ended up sleeping rough on the streets. My mental health was deteriorating… I had suicidal thoughts,” he recalls.

Todd – an adopted Anglicisation of his Lithuanian name – ended up in Brighton, a town on England’s south coast with a reputation for tolerance, a vibrant arts scene and a homelessness problem. It was there that he began to rebuild his life, finding a vital support network among those squatting in the town’s ample stock of empty and neglected buildings and sometimes opening them up as impromptu galleries and cultural spaces.

“I call myself houseless, not homeless. We are a community and we help each other out,” he explains. “There is a lot of support and there is always somebody to talk to. Living like this, you’re always in control of your own life. You don’t have the money to support yourself food-wise, maybe, but you can go and get it from skips.
